I just noticed yesterday that I cannot access my LR5 photos. All my photos have a !. I tried to correct with Find Missing Folder. It will locate folder, but I can't select it? Its frustrating because I see them, but can't access them.
View 4 RepliesI cannot load or open any photos in Lightroom 5.3. I just installed it recently and was getting ready to use it. When I open Lightroom 5.3 it gives me an error message saying "An error occurred when attempting to change modules." I was in Bridge and then from Bridge I tried to open a photo into Lightroom. I tried to get a photo from desktop etc. Nothing worked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday, while browsing through my Lightroom catalog looking for some older images, I noticed that LR5 could not open any images (NEF, CR2, JPG, TIFF, etc.) from mid 2010 and prior! The error message only says: "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo." !!! The thumbnails are all blank!
I was very surprised as I haven't used any other image editting sw for the last I don't know how many years. I wonder, are there any ways to reclaim these images. I have some precious photos of my mother before she passed away and don't want to lose them an any cost.
It seems all these files are somehow corrupted. The only thing I can think of is when I switched over to LR5 and the image catalog was updated, something in the process went wrong, though can't be 100% sure. I did try to open the files in a separate viewer (non adobe) but that also failed. I'm using a Macbook Pro with the latest OSX (Mavericks). The images are on an external encrypted drive. From 2010 onward, there are no issues and everything is available.

View 26 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click on a photo in LR3 and click on 'edit in Photoshop CS4', it opens the dialogue box that it has always opened: 'This version of Lightroom may require Camera Raw version 6.5 to be fully compatible,' or something to that effect. I have never needed to worry about that, and have always been able to just click on OK and it has worked anyway, however suddenly it doesn't.
So I checked (just in case the issue was my version of Camera Raw) and I am running Camera Raw version 5.70.213
So I tried to update it to 6.5. I downloaded it (and the Adobe installer manager which it seemed to want me to install), but when I try to install 6.5 I get a message: 'This is not required'.So one message tells me it is required, and another won't allow it to install and says it is not required.
I don't seem to be able to install the latest version of Camera Raw (doesn't bother me as I don't use it - I use LR, except if it is causing this problem), and I have the problem of being unable to edit any of my LR catalogue in CS4.
I have installed and registered LR 5 ok but can't launch. Only a dialogue box asking to select a recently opened catalogue but there isn't one because I haven't had LR before. I just want to open the interface to import some photos but this same dialogue box keeps opening. This was not an upgrade version.

When I tried to activate the source to upload my photos - all when blank after 1 second of showing information (Photos) that were the previews. - then went blank.I stopped the process and ejected the card correctly through the finder. Thought I would try importing via image capture.
This was also a problem as the previews only showed as a flash of a second.I also notice that for some reason Lightroom 4 keeps on opening when importing photos and not Lightroom 5 - Though Lightroom 5 opens up when I edit other photos.
Why doesn't the filmstrip open when I attempt to open multiple photos in camera row? I'm using CS4.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI copied photo folders from my hard drive to lightroom 4 and edited them but then accidentally removed these folders from lightroom. I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.
When I merge LR5 catalogs the existing photos are overwritten by the incoming photos

I usually do my tweaks in RAW interface then open the photo. I find that I may want to go back to RAW interface in the middle of editing to do more correction or add Raw presets. How do I open RAW Interface back up on the photo without saveing/exiting and then reopening? I read I can do this when I open a photo a smart object. But how can I do it if it is not a smart object?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a photo in Photoshop CS6 I can see photo in the layers palette but it doesn't show up on my screen to work on.The only way I can get it to show up is if I act like I'm going to close Photoshop.
Then when it asks if I want to close I say "No". Then my photo shows up so I can work on it.
I am running Vista 64 bit, and have downloaded my CS4 to it. It will not let me download any updates thru the Help section- gives me "Adobe Output module 2.1 Failed to install. Install process has encountered a problem" but do you think it tells me what the problem is? It also tells me the "Services update- Failed to install" I have been at this for several days, and I am just about at my wits end! And when I try to open photos in CS4 it tells me "The specified module could not be found. C:Program Files (x86)CommonFilesAdobeAdobeVersionCueCS4Client4.0.1VersionCue.DLL" I understand the RAW files from my new camera (Canon T1I) won't open because there is no plug-in for it yet, but I can't even open RAW from my previous camera (Rebel XT), nor will it open any JPEGs. I get the same message for any attempts. I had no problems with the CS2 opening my older RAW files or JPEGs. When I open CS4 I get a message about the NVIDIA upgrade, which I finally was able to get that downloaded, tho I still get the message when opening CS4. I also am having issues now, that says the computer is giving me a "Blocked Startup Programs" message when turning on the computer. Is this affecting the CS4 somehow? I never had this message until the last month or so. Have no idea why it is now blocking programs. The Adobe CS4 Service Manager is on the list of blocked programs. Any ideas how to go about unblocking these, and reasons why they may have been blocked in the first place? The list is about 30 programs long! As you can tell, my computer "knowledge" leaves much to be desired!

It was set to open just fine in regular Photoshop CS6 but once I installed Photoshop CC I was unable to open my photo's in photoshop unless I opened them in Bridge. I also can't open my InDesign documents unless I open them in Bridge. And I can't open Illustrator at all unless I open it in Bridge itself by adding the Illustrator.exe to my favorites in Bridge and then clicking on it. Is Photoshop CC not able to be the Default for photo's yet, is there a work around that can be done to have my computer register that it's even there to be set as default. Then when I uninstalled Photoshop CC because I WANT my photos to open automatically in Photoshop then when I went to re-install regular Photoshop CS6 it wasn't there to download so I had to reinstall Photoshop CC. Is there a way like I said to have my photos be open and to have my default be set in Photoshop CC?

Checked in "PSE 9 help" under "system" and it shows thar Raw 6.5 has benn installed but I still can not open Raw photos from any of the cameras.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am working with the latest versions of Photoshop, Lightroom & ACR. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the links to Photoshop from Lightroom were all grayed out. for example when I right click on an image and select "Open With," it and all of the rest of the links to Photoshop are grayed out and inaccessable. I have been using Photoshop since v2 ansd Lightroom since v1. My operating system in Win 7.
Uninstall and reinstall Photoshop to reestablish the links. I spent about two hours doing that yesterday. when I was done the links were back and functional. I left the compluter on all night to make sure everything was backed up. This morning I opened Lightroom (64bit) and attempted to open an image in Photoshop for editing. All of the links were grayed out again.
So today I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom.
When I open a RAW file in the Develop module ACR dsoes not open. What am I doing wrong?
