I have heard reports that LR4 cannot be used to download files from Canon 5D (Mk1)..Also why do I have to upgrade from LR3.6 to LR4 just so I can download RAW files from Canon G1X camera? for one who obtains no income from photography the continual costly upgrades are ridiculous.

I have Lightroom 3 and have been using it with a Nikon D3000, I just got a new Nikon D7000 and Lightroom will not let me download my raw files. the note that I get says "The files are from a camera which is not recognized by the raw format support in Lightroom" and then lists the files that I tried to download.

I didn't know there was a special way to delete adobe application so i just dragged it into a program called app cleaner and it deleted all the files. View 1 Replies View RelatedI typically use GIMP 2.6. Computer crashed recently so now I've downloaded 2.8. When I download ABR files into the brushes folder, the program won't start. It wigs out and doesn't work. I copied abr files just fine into my GIMP 2.6. Why is this happening?
I even went so far as to find GIMP 2.6 on the web for download. But the same problem. There are strange 'VBR' files now that didn't used to be in my old brush folder but are suddenly there now.
(and 'gimp doesn't accept abr files' my old 2.6 accepted them JUST fine. No fancy converter or anything).

-- 1.16GB Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder;
-- 1.21MB PhotoshopElements_11_LS15 extractor file;
-- 10.5MB Akamai_NetSession_Installer application; and a
-- .98GB PhotoshopElements_11_LS15.7z file.
What am I to do with these files? Can I put them in the trash? Do I need to save them somewhere for some reason, and if so, why and where?
My computer quit mid-download of Ps cc. My computer has no record of having downloaded Ps cc. Adobe won't let me download it and complete the process.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just shot my first batch of RAW images using the new Nikon D800. When I downloaded the images using Bridge the thumbnails in the download dialog shows the images. But after download the images are not being shown. Instead I get an icon. If I double click on an image I get a message that camera RAW doesn't recognize the file and a recommendation to update.
I have checked updates from within Bridge and from Photoshop and both tell me that everything is up to date. Photoshop tells me the camera RAW plug in is 6.6 and that is the latest shown on the Adobe download page. According the the information page 6.6 is compatible with the D800.
Why doesn't Adobe Bridge download files from "get photos from camera", error message" Adobe Bridge CS6 cannot obtain files from this device. ensure that the device is connected properly,or that the battery is charged,and try again.
When I'm using a card reader that does not require batteries, is it because they are Leica DNG files??? I have managed to drag and drop instead but would prefer to use "get photos from camera".

This is not my intension and it fills my main HD Any ID where to stop this or to change the settings. Security Backup has a separate Disk and the catalog settings show the right path.
System: Mac OS X 10.4 and LR 5.1
I am using a USB card reader to download images to LR4. When I plug the reader into the USB port I get an error message saying, "images on card do not meet download criteria". The thumbnails appear in Library mode but when I click on "Import", another error message appears saying the files could not be read.
As recently as last week I successfully downloaded images from the same card. As usual I reformatted the card before going on today's shoot.
