I had to replace my HD and installed LR 4 onto the new HD but it won't launch. I get a message prompting me to update the software but after clicking on the link I just get a blank box so I had to quick the program. My computer was at Apple where it was tested for problems, etc and all is ok. I'm running OS 10.6.8. Computer is a 2008 Mac Pro.

I haven't installed lightroom 5 yet because I wanted to make sure everything is compatible with my older mac before I did. I have lightroom 4. My question---I can't open .arw images on my computer with my Camera Raw version 5.5..0.97 now. Sony A-65 requires 6.5 version but it would open before I put mountain lion on my mac. Will lightroom 5 add the lastest camera raw and solve this. Is it necessary for me to get elements 12 to get this all to work?

While regular LR4 editing works, using an external editor doesn't because LR4 insists on trying to write a file into that read-only directory. Is there a way to persuade LR4 to put the files it uses to communicate with external editors somewhere else? I intentionally want to keep my NEF directories read-only because they're synced with other programs (which would get upset by LR4 sneaking extra files in there) and because I don't want to accidentally alter anything there.

When I finish a editing a photo and try to edit in Photoshop CS3 (or any other program) by selecting "Edit In", I get the error message, "Unexpected error performing command: bad argument (string expected got nil)." I've been trying a workaround by exporting to other programs, but I think the "Edit In" process should work. (I upgraded by download)

But I dont see any change in the picture when sliding all the way to the left the cursor to -100. The blur effect is almost invisible. View 3 Replies View RelatedI can not get copy metadata to work in LR4 or 4.1. When I click on copy metadata, with a picture selected that has metadata, a window opens with the metadata form. None of the check boxes has any metadata in them from the picture I selected. If I fill in some of the boxes and then paste to another picture, that works. The same thing happens with sync. It appears that the metadata from the selected picture is not read when clicking on copy metadata.. I am running LR4.1 under Win 7 on a PC.

It worked fine on 30 pictures and then won't work on 1 picture. It shows the change in the box on the left but then won't actually change the picture. I can't figure out why it is not working.

Are Adobe planning to provide a patch for this any time soon, or should I look elsewhere for printing?
I though Lightroom was supposed to be an end to end workflow solution, but I've seen bug reports about the print module in various forums on the net going back nearly a year now, so maybe Adobe have lost interest in this particular module?
today I bought Lightroom 4. To test the new capabilities I copied 4 images to a sub folder in my catalog and did choose "Ordner synchronisieren" (synchronise folders.
But Lightroom 4 simply hangs up at 92% (according to task manager) of the task for at least 10 minutes. After the hang up, the new pictures were not found. No such behavior with Lightroom 3.
I'm using the 64 bit version on a Win 7 64 bit machine (AMD processor and AMD ATI Radeon HD 5770 graphics card).
I am using Lightroom 4 and Photoshop elements 9 on Mac OSX. I upgraded from LR3 to LR4 a few weeks ago and since I updated I can not anymore use Photoshop Elements 9 as external editor. I did all setups, still does not work.
