Jan 19, 2013Upgrading from PSE 10 to 11, I noticed that when I watch my images with the organizer in PSE 11 in full screen view mode (F11), while the images load faster, they are shown in a lower quality than in PSE 10 or any other version of PSE that I owned before. In PSE 11, after the initial viewing in full screen (in the "fit screen" mode), when I click with the mouse on an image to display the "100%" view, there is a delay and the program says "Loading...", after which the 100% view in the full screen mode appears. When I then click another time with the mouse on the image to get back to "fit screen" mode, I get an image of better quality than during the initial view!
So it seems like the program first gives a faster, but lower quality view of the image in full screen mode, and only after the user requests a 100% view, it actually loads the image with full detail, which is then preserved when going back to the "fit screen" view. This is a serious issue for me, because I also use PSE organizer to present my pictures to other people, and I don't want to show them some lower quality versions of my images, but the full quality ones, without having to first choose "100% view" and then go back to "fit screen".
How can I make the PSE 11 organizer give me a full-quality full screen image right away, as this used to be the case in PSE10 and before?
(I have both versions, PSE 11 and PSE 10, now on the same computer and tested this to confirm that the PSE 11 initial full screen view is of lower quality than the PSE 10 one. Also in PSE 10, there is practically no delay for displaying the "100%" view afterwards, indicating that the image was loaded with full detail right away.)

Jun 8, 2012I haven't been able to find any zoom levels between full-page view and the Ctrl-U zoom that seems to be 1:1. At full page, 12 point text is very difficult to read and edit and anything smaller is impossible. At the Ctrl-U zoom level, I get about 40 characters of 12 point text across the screen & proofreading & editing a text box is very time consuming.

The FILE, EDIT, ... drop down menus only appear after carefully hovering near the top of the screen and the minimize, full screen, and close buttons never appear. I don't want to close LR to check email, browse, or kill time while it is rendering previews.

Video playback is still a bit laggy. Often LR5.2 needs to load audio first while the video already starts playing. If other (even freeware) media browsers can do this without latency, why not Adobe's LR?

Dec 31, 2012Using LR 4.3, I'm exporting a slideshow to PDF. Even though I turned off transitions in LR, the transitions automatically start in Acrobat X in full screen mode. My goal is to present ths slide show with a mouse click, or arrow key, to move to the next slide in full screen mode.

Sep 20, 2013I switched to lightroom 5. There is one change from 4, which I like to be undone and maybe there is a way to achive this via some setting. When I am in slide show mode with full screen the next and previous slide cannot be reached any longer by the left and right arrow. This used to be possible and it is very good if one wants to test a slide show without waiting for the next picture for 5 seconds (or whatever the delay is). It is also nice to have a quick possibility to have a look at the previous picture again.
Is there a way to reenable the arrow keys?
Lightroom :: When Image Go To Full Screen (zoom To 1:1) It Become Blurry
Jul 13, 2013When I zoom to 1:1 with LR5 in the Develop module, I get a sharp image almost instantly, but when I then go to full screen (or go to full screen first and then zoom to 1:1), the image is blurry and stays that way, and the only way I can fix that, strangely, is to use the left or right arrow key to go to a neighboring image, and then return, at which point the blurry image comes into sharp focus in a second or so. My system seems to handle everything else in 64-bit LR5 with ease. Any thoughts re what's happening and how to fix it. A great product overall, and I love the full screen feature in other respects.

Nov 20, 2013I'm a huge fan of Full screen mode (pressing F) to review my image large without UI clutter.However often the image in Fullscreen looks quite different from what I see in normal mode within Develop. The full screen image is brighter (by about 0.5EV) and lacks contrast. Exporting the image and reviewing externally shows that it is faithful to the version in normal Develop mode.
Originally I thought this was due to visual perception where the dark border made the full screen version appear brighter, but this isn't the case. Using Lights out mode with all tabs collapsed and then switching to Fullscreen also exhibits the difference. Further I've taken screenshots of both modes, put them in layers in Photoshop and the difference is very noticeable switching between them.
I'm not sure if nobody is noticing or using Fullscreen or if it's somehow unique to me? As it stands, without being able to trust Fullscreen mode showing a faithful image it's rather useless as a review tool.
Lightroom :: Full Screen Improved But Shortcuts Are Inconsistent
Jun 12, 2013Full screen view is a minor, but convenient new feature in LR5. It's a quick way to look at a photo without distractions. Being able to flag, color code, rank, and apply Develop module edits with shortcut keys while in full screen are all pluses. Also, the primary "bug" in the Beta, that the F key did not work like a toggle and take you back to the prior view, has been fixed. However, the keyboard shortcuts still do not work consistently.
If you initiate full screen from the Library module, pressing E, G, or D all work correctly. Even the shortcuts to specific Develop module tools work right. For example, R opens up the cropping tool. However, if you initiate full screen from Develop, pressing E or G still works, but pressing D or any of the Develop tool shortcuts has no effect.

Feb 20, 2013I can't figure out how to adjust the size of the program screen when in Full Edit Mode. I can see portions of the Quick Fix menu and none of the Guided Fix menu. There seems to be no way to resize the window.

Jul 31, 2013I'm trying to use the develop module in lr for the first time, I normally use Breezebrowser. in Library mode.I have quick develop options, but in the develop module nothing shows on the right hand side of the screen at all.I have went into presents and ticked all the boxes but the only way I have options to develop are from the library module and that does not show the straigten option which i want. I have hit the D button until its worn out. This has been like this since I installed lr5, I used lr3 previously but only as a method to export images to zenfolio did not use anything apart from import and export. What do I need to do to get the options for the Develop module to show on screen? I have also hit the T for Toolbar several hundred times with no difference.

May 28, 2012The loupe view on the second screen used to display information about the photo. I double clicked on it and it disappeared and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it back.
On the primary screen this can be added/removed or changed in Library Module by selecting the menu view->view options... which gets you to a settings window where you can set what shows. However, I cannot seem to find a similar thing for the second monitor.

If I select crop mode, the photo disappears and the screen turns to gray. If I select before/after, the screen turns to gray. I have read the manual multiple times and have watched the video. I do not see any step that I am omitting or doing incorrectly. Should I uninstall & reinstall the program, or what?

Jan 24, 2014I am having problems getting my final prints to match the screen view. Most recently I have had this problem: I have an image that is sized to 5X7. I have it on a 5X7 template in the print module of Lightroom. The image dimensions in Lightroom say 5X7. I print on 5X7 paper (I actually measured it to be sure). ON the screen they look perfect, match the the templates and measure out fime with the onscreen rulers. Without fail a portion of the print is cut off on the final print. The long side of the print is the most effected. This is not just limited to 5X7's, it happens across the board. Is this a common problem or I am I doing something wrong? In the 5X7 example above the print comes out 5.2 X 7.3 give or take. I am using Lightroom 5.3 on an iMac running OS 10.9.1. The printer is a Canon Pro 100.

Dec 3, 2012I've been having problems selecting images in the library module when multiple images are in view (not down in the timeline, but in the main window). It seems sporadic with which ones it won't let me select, it somehow manages to be the ones that I need to click....!! I just literally can't click it as if it were an image I already imported or something, but it's not grayed out like that. I've been having to select a nearby image then use my arrow keys to navigate to and click the image I need.

Lightroom :: Error Message When Switching From Library Module To Slideshow Module?
Jan 26, 2013I am running LR4 ver4.3. All of a sudden I receied an error message stating cannnot switch to module. I have tried all the usual stuff before going out to the web to look for fixes. On adobe's site they recommended 6 things which I did exactly as instructed and still nothing..I am running iMac mountain lion and everything on my computer is up to date.
