It would be nice to have a colour sampler in Lightroom 4 to be able to monitor the use of the new RGB channels in the curve. Is there such an item, or is it possible to have something like that in the toolbox? Something like the Camera raw where you can select mulitple points - or use a modify key to change the eye dropper(Lightroom) into a colour sampler point?
View 1 RepliesI'd like to change the text colour to that of one I pick using the eye dropper tool.
This is what I do;
1. Select the text
2. Using the eye dropper tool i click on an object (lets say a square) filled object with a different colour. (no stroke) - Now I expect that the text will change to the squares colour but it does not.
The eye dropper will pick up and change its font/colour if i select other text but not other objects. I have opened the eye dropper preferences and EVERYTHING is ticked in both picks up and applies.

can anyone tell the advantage of using the colour sampler in conjunction with the curves adjustment when correcting colour casts in a photograph?
I have a photograph with a slightly blue cast on it and ive corrected it by opening the curves pallete and ctrl clicking the image to place dots on the curves and adjusted the curve accordingly.
I have read that it is a good idea to place 4 color sampler points on the image and use them somehow in conjunction with the curves. But how? Has it got something to do with eyeballling the color sampler readouts in the info pallette. I cant work out what the advantage of doing it would be.
Im working on an object which has 4 anchor points, i would like to keep to black stroke for 2/3 segments of the object but i would like to change the colour between two anchor points (so 1/3 segments).

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn a nut shell if I use lightroom 3 only and print images the printed images look exactly the same to the monitor - therefore I would assume the calbration of the screen is okay.
If I use lightroom 3 and export to CS5 to continue making more adjustments when I save the image as jpeg it appears to have saved okay. However if you then maximise the photo to full screen the colours change - drastically. Basically they look aweful. They become quite dull and lose there saturation adjustments (which were done orginally in Lightroom). They print this way too.
I don't think it has anything to do with calibration because it's all okay when just using LR3.
I have played around with this quite a bit to try and find a solution and have now found that if I export lightroom to CS5 and don't make any changes to the photos but just save it - it's still changing the colours
I am not exporting from lightroom to CS5. All I am doing is selecting the Right clicking and selecting Edit in>Adobe Photoshop CS5.1....
Then in CS5 it opens and appears exactly the same as it was in LR From there I click file>save as>format Jpeg and there is another box checked labelled - ICC Profile: Prophoto RGB (not really sure what this is and there are no other options to change it)
I have tried to show a difference in colour by attaching the photo.
Picture on right is Lightroom edited. Those colours are what you see when it is maximised on screen and the colours print correctly too . This photo was then opened in CS5 (photo on left) (with the LR adjustments) and saved as jpeg and you can see how the colours change. But you don't see the change unless screen is fully maximised - and it prints that way too.
Is there a facility to change the colour layout of Lightroom 4.2 away from what I consider depressing shades of grey?

I have a question regarding illustrator. Let's say I have a circle with blue fill and red stroke. And I place an image in the illustrator file. Now I want to change the red stroke of my circle to let's say a purple color by sampling the color from the image.
How can I achieve that with a eye dropper tool? Every time when I try to sample a color from the image, the whole circle will change to purple instead of just the stroke? I have tried multiple key combination, shift, alt, ctrl but they all don't work.
I have photographed some colour negatives in RAW. Any outline of a process as to how to convert these to positives using Lightroom v5. I have tried and failed!
View 6 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS4 I have placed a color sampler/eye dropper crosshair on my RGB image. This shows what the color values are for that section of the image in the info palette. When I adjust curves on a layer, it changes the values of the color sampler to the values of the layer I am adjusting alone, thus preventing me from matching a color using curves and the color sampler. I have been through the preferences and opened every fly-out I could find on the info palette, and the curves dialog box, but have not found a selection that says "Sample all layers" anywhere. I am simply trying to show the values under the color sampler for all layers, similar to the functionality that existed in previous versions of photoshop.

AND, by holding some combination of shift/ctrl/alt and clicking the color sample, the values would transfer to the red,green, and blue layers of my curves layer. From there I could make adjustments...
In CS4 I'm trying to do this, and I can't get it to work... It isn't the same as using the eyedroppers on the curve OR the hand above the eyedroppers. It actually copied the color sample values onto the individual color channels.....
How do I do this in CS4?

If I place a point on an image and then make 10 adjustments is there a way to view how the color sample will change with each adjustment?
Right now I have to go back to the individual 'bg' layer I will call it to view the new color info after the adjustments have been made. I would like to see how the color info is changing for the layer the adjustment is being made to WHILE making the adjustments.
I don't use the Color Sampler Tool much, but In checking something for another thread, I noticed the cursor now seems inconsistent with the cursors of the other tools.Basically, I expected it to drop the sampler on the little crosshair, and it dropped it instead at the end of the dropper.
This used to make sense, and it's still consistent with the Eyedropper cursor (and with prior versions of Photoshop). But I find that now I've gotten used to the other new cursors, most of which now define the hot spot at the upper-left, it didn't do what was expected.
When i work on a image in photoshop cs5 then save it to a folder ready for printing there is a dramatic colour change.

For each image I have to change the shoes to 35 different colours.
I am going to do this by opening the image, selecting the area of the shoe, copying to a new layer, setting mode to colour and brushing in the colour.
Each image needs to be in the same 35 colours.
Now I could do this all manually but it will take an ages. Given it is the same 35 colours for each image needed is there an easier way, maybe an action, so that i can open the image select the area i need changing and the click and it saves the image in the 35 colours?
I've scanned in a copy of my signature, dragged & dropped it from MS Word into Photoshop CS2.
BUT... I want to change its colour from black to a specific pantone colour for a sales letter I'm writing (0c1c8c)...

You can see on the attached image that there is a green wave form between the words. When i imported the pic into photoshop for my website design project the pic was this way but as a newb i think have changed a setting somewhere and now the waveform is white like the writing. View 3 Replies View Relatedreally simple this but I want to change the colour of some blocks. There are already some of this block in the drawing, but I am adding additional ones and want these to show up by changing the colour to red.
The blocks have been created in Layer 0, and inserted on another layer. When I highlight the blocks in question I can change the colour to Red, but even though the ribbon says otherwise they are still appearing in the original colour.
