I'm having a problem converting grapics, words or phrases to hyperlinks in exported pdf's. The only thing that converts is a complete URL even though the test for source and destination work perfectly.

I have a question about exporting pdfs from coral (X3) with hyperlinks / bookmarks. I'm trying to prepare a presentation which has to be in pdf. In that presentation I want To attach a menu with links to chapters and basic 'next page', 'prev
page' buttons. As for now I did not succeed to do this in coral : When I export to pdf with applied internet hyperlinks to pages, my pdf reader (acrobat reader) is trying to find an external file rather than skip to a desired page in that pdf. To make this clear enough i attach a simple version of what i want to achieve.
Am using InDesign 6. Trying to create interactive pictorial Table of Contents and cannot and have set up text hyperlinks to the items in the TOC and text anchor/destination hyperlinks to the location within the document. I set up all the hyperlinks - but then needed to make edits to several items.
Now none of the edited hyperlinks work when the document is pdf'ed (as interactive .pdf). I have tried cutting and pasting text boxes, re-typing text boxes and even copything all the text boxes from a different document into my current document. When I click on new text box to create the link - the "New Hyperlink" option is greyed out.
I have created an Indd CS6 file with hyperlinks, exported it to interactive PDF to be viewed on an iPad with (standard) Acrobat Reader. All links work fine, but each link is covered with a blue square (indicating where the links are, I assume). I chose "invisible rectangular" so I suspect it is added by Reader? Is there a way to get rid of those blue squares? I do not want them on my design. Would a (paid) PDF Reader
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have many documents I need to convert to HTML. I need the images in the documents to be links. This has worked fine, according to normal procedures if the images are png, jpg, or gifs. However, most of my images are not those formats. So if I have an eps, pdf, and tiff in my document, upon html export, there is no hyperlink. That is, the <a href></a> tags are not in the HTML at all. But if I convert the images to png, jpeg, or gifs, put them in my document, then choose that file format for conversion, the links work fine.
I want to say there is an issue with the link tags upon file conversion. It could be something else, but I am not sure why it works for certain file formats and not others. I figured ID would keep the association with the hyperling after converting an image from say and eps to jpg. Any way to keep hyperlinks for images after exporting to HTML.
(I can obviously add the link tags myself in the HTML, or convert the images myself and put them in the docs, but I have many documents and would like some automated way.)
Exporting PDFs from an InDesign file, have tried X-1, X-3, Interactive. When I try to open the PDF in Acrobat, dialog pops up that says "Acrobat could not open <filename> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged...
This isn't a PDF that's been emailed or moved between computers, this is right after I export from InDesign on my home PC.
What's going on? I need to print this document tomorrow for a final presentation!
I'm used to using AutoCad R14 and just recently had to purchase AutoCad 2010. The printing service that I have to use has to have the drawings in a PDF format and I found out how to make the conversion. However, the lineweights, the linetypes and the linetype scales are all out of wack. I have read about setting up a CBT file, but apparently I'm missing something someplace. I want to plot by color to achieve lineweight. Linetypes and linetype scales are set when the object is drawn, where the default is Continuous and 1 respectively.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm creating interactive PDFs for a client that include tables with empty cells that will be populated afterwards (depending on what information a customer puts in on a form).
The forms are created in InDesign and exported as interactive PDFs, but I need to be able to name the live fields (in InDesign) before I export the Interactive PDF, so that I don't have to select each indivual field in the final PDF and rename them.
The reason I want to be able to do this pre-PDF production, is because the forms will be rebranded over and over again and I don't want to have to rename hundreds of cells time and time again in Acrobat Pro.
The deveopler who's populating the cells already has predefined names for them, so I can's simply give him the names that Acrobat automatically defines.
I am creating interactive PDFs from InDesign and everything is working well.The only issue I am having is that along with the text fields and buttons, I also have a Credit Card field that I need to be interactive.
How can I export a pdf so that the 16 little squares become text fields?
I am trying to export an interactive PDF from an indd file that has multiple linked indd files. Within the linked files, I have URLs and a few forms.
I was able to get a URL to work on one linked indd file. The rest don't seem to work.Am I doing something wrong? Or is it just that an interactive PDF only works with one indd file at a time?
I've got a folder with about 200 pdfs in (all single pages as I've split them as such). What I want to do is set up an action that opens them in photoshop, converts them to a bitmap and saves them as a TIFF. Easy right? Nope.
I've set this up by recording the action. What happens is it opens all the files in turn and changes them to bitmaps as I want, but when it saves them, it saves them all with the same file name, which is the name of the first one (the one I recorded the action with), this means it keeps replacing the first file.
what I want it to do is to save each file with it's own file name!
I am attempting to create a graphic using corel draw that has several different layers that can be viewed separately or simultaneously. Additionally the images in each layer are hyper linked to corresponding web pages. I am running into an issue because when I print to PDF I have several layers still active however hidden.
These hidden layers contain hyperlinks which are still showing up on the PDF even when those layers are not.
I am having trouble with hyperlinks in a CorelDraw X5 document. Every time I close the file, then re-open it, I find that the hyperlinks have changed. This seems like a bug to me, but if not, how to lock them so that this doesn't happen?

I have been using illustrator to create my page designs using a combination of photography and vector work and was wondering if i select everything within the document and convert to cymk wether this has indeed converted everthing including the Photos. I was also wondering is it best to save my files as PDF's before importing into Indesign to reduce file size or will the quality be better if an ai. file? It is a 200 page brochure and i am the sole designer as an intern at a travel company

When making the PDF I have selected "embed all fonts" (I do not have the "convert to curves" option.) but the fonts are not being converted to curves. When imported all fonts display in Corel as artistic type or are substituted. Is there a way to convert fonts to curves in Pagemaker?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have not been able to work out why hot-linked URLs saved in a document refuse to come across to the exported or printed and distilled PDFs in any multipage documents with facing pages set to on.
It will work with facing pages off. This looks to be an issue that requires a fix.
If I open a 4-page PDF in CorelDraw, I can edit anything in it. But if I save my changes, it saves as a 4-page cdr file. But I want to save the changes to the PDF. Is the only way to save the changes to the pdf file to re-publish the whole 4 pages to PDF again and have it replace the old one when asked? Wouldn't this further compress any jpgs?
Re-publishing the whole thing and changing the settings to no compression (and remembering to reset them back again later!) seems very inefficient......The question, of course applies to single page pdf's as well, but I'm thinking of deleting or adding a page or changing page order.
I like my coreldraw x4. This sign shop actually has a copy of x5 but it was so so so so awful that we had to take it off of the computer.
I am having more and more problems opening pdf's. I end up with a rectangle with a line across the corner. I'm assuming the people sending have newer adobe than what x4 can handle? I can open the pdf;s in adobe reader but only give option to save as pdf. I just looked and it says PDF VISTA . Is there a way to save them as an older one? Kind of how corel draw can be saved as an older version?
And for some odd reason, on one of the computers (the one that has the email that these pdf's come from) doesn't show them with the pdf icon on the desktop. It has the green corel draw icon instead.
I am having a difficult time getting my eps files that I have created in X5 to separate once I export them to Indesign CS4 . . . when I try to separate the file on all my postscript 2 & 3 printers machines I don't get any separations . . instead I receive a page with ERROR: dictstackoverflow OFFENDING COMMAND: begin . . I am using spot colours. . .I can import the eps file into Corel 11 and Illustrator CS4 and they work fine once I reexport them . . I can export out of X5 as a pdf and it works fine . . . I do have Ghostscript installed .
View 14 Replies View RelatedThis is the second time I've had crashes in X6 64 bit, the first time was importing a very large "XLS" file, and then today while converting a selected group to curves it crashed. I restarted Draw opened the file that I had saved but not converted the part of the drawing I wanted to cut to curves, as soon as I tried to convert to curves it crashed again. Restarted the computer with the same results. I got the job to the cutter so it is not holding me up, but I did want to let the powers that be know about the crash. And I have been converting at least some of each drawing I do to curves with no problems, nothing had changed in the computer so it makes me wonder what's going on. The computer is a i5, 8 gb ram, 2 gb video card, Windows 7 Ult.

Just wondering why it made those odd lines coming off of the words and the black bar (I don't know how the heck you guys can post large things, things with motion, etc. I have to make things miniature to put them on here)
I assume it has something to do with how the original, that came from MillerCoors, has those layers of lines in it. I just don't get why lines would then be visible when I changed it since nothing like that has happened before. Oh, and if you are wondering why I converted it, it's because I knew my rip server wouldn't like all that stuff going on in the original

I'm guessing that the CD6 automatically converted all my files that were CD3 to CD6...Any who...I decided that I like corel draw 3 better and redownloaded it. Now I can't open my CD3 files now..Even though my files says CD3 I still can't open them.

While the images on my screen appear as I want them, and will print true to their colors on my printer, when I convert the files to pdf, jpg or eps formats to send out, the colors lose their vibrancy and appear (and reproduce) washed out. It seems as though it's something in the conversion process.
