I am having trouble with hyperlinks in a CorelDraw X5 document. Every time I close the file, then re-open it, I find that the hyperlinks have changed. This seems like a bug to me, but if not, how to lock them so that this doesn't happen?

I've noticed that sometimes when I use an artistic media brush around a closed path, I can't change the brushstroke color without filling the path with that color; see the attached file for an example. I thought that was just unfortunately the way it was.But today I watched Jeff Harrison's video tutorial [URL]...about making a custom brush. He applies it to a closed path, and then, to my surprise, he changes the color and it just changes the color of the brushstroke.
I followed the tutorial, made the brush, applied it to a rounded rectangle, all fine. However, when I changed the color, the center of the rectangle filled with the color as well as changing the brush color, as it always has for me in the past. So what's wrong? Do I have some setting somewhere set to the wrong thing? (I don't have Fill Open Curves checked.)
I am attempting to create a graphic using corel draw that has several different layers that can be viewed separately or simultaneously. Additionally the images in each layer are hyper linked to corresponding web pages. I am running into an issue because when I print to PDF I have several layers still active however hidden.
These hidden layers contain hyperlinks which are still showing up on the PDF even when those layers are not.
I have a question about exporting pdfs from coral (X3) with hyperlinks / bookmarks. I'm trying to prepare a presentation which has to be in pdf. In that presentation I want To attach a menu with links to chapters and basic 'next page', 'prev
page' buttons. As for now I did not succeed to do this in coral : When I export to pdf with applied internet hyperlinks to pages, my pdf reader (acrobat reader) is trying to find an external file rather than skip to a desired page in that pdf. To make this clear enough i attach a simple version of what i want to achieve.
I got a .psb-document with a adjustmentlayer>solid color as a background. The color is a Pantone 354-C. When I save my document (CMYK), and then reopen it, I no longer get the Pantone color library but the default color picker box. I see no visible change in color though so I'm not sure if the color changes. If I click the color library button in my adjustment layer, it automatically pics the PMS color beneth the 354-C (that is 355 C) and I see a change in color. So I have to repick 354-C again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI jumped from using Windows XP with CorelDraw 11 to Windows 7 with CorelDraw 16, and ever since then, I have been having problems with colors changing in my PDF files. Before I send the file, I open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro to make sure the colors look correct, and they look fine..., but the person who is receiving the PDF tells me that when they open up the file, the colors change (usually to black), or nothing appears at all. What is up with this? I use Pantone Solid Coated colors in my PDF files because that is what we use to match our silk screening inks.

I used the trail version of 15 to create files. I found a good deal on 14 and bought that. However none of my 15 files will open in 14. Is there a way to change the property of the 15 file to make it open in 14?

I have colored the outline in the same green as the fill but I would like to keep the bottom line (curved) black to define it against the hat brim. Is there a way to keep this line black when I make the others green......otherwise I have to draw it in again.

I can go through and reset all the styles, then re-apply them, but it wastes a lot of time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a number of drawings that I am working on that I need to xref in image files for backgrounds. I am working in MEP 2013. Initially I am loading the xref via the insert tab then "attach" command. It loads fine, shows up , I clip and adjust its location in the dwg, save and plot and close the dwg. The next time I go to work on the dwg I cannot see the xref only the link and when I go to reload it wont let me. I receive the error "not found." I end up having to detach the file and start over. When I attach the xref I am using relative path and overlay options.

I keep text as text boxes, not curves - so I can correct it later, if needed / I have this problem many times. I tried to tweak Options - (Workspace and Document) - Save, but it doesn't seem to work. Besides, I tweak options like "Use graphic objects compression", "Save blends and extrudes with the file" without understanding what are they for...
I have some Ai files that I need to open in X6 but they use linked images which I have, but when opening in CorelDraw all I get is the basic Ai stuff but not the linked images, is there an easy way to open the Ai file and see it as it was intended?
As a sub note I can't go back to the supplier of the Ai file to make any changes.
I just used the help file for the first time in ages and noticed all the links to the graphics are broken hence no diagrams etc. I tried to search out where they are usually stored and it gives some weird Address under properties. It's a vba so suppose it's a database? How do I restore the links without having to do a re-install?
As to the pen: How do you stop the annoying over-the-top predictive curve that happens past the node in the next section after a long drag to form the first curve. i.e. you simply want to draw a straight line after dragging out a curved section previously and you get this unmanageable curve to deal with ?
Every time I try to type in coreldraw it always prints at 90 degrees to the page.

when I select "all objects" via the menu and remove the setting "scale with object" from the object properties the color changes from CMYK to RGB. I cannot even redo. All actions are redone but not the color. The primary color of the document is CMYK. This happens only to the borders and not to the fillings.

Someone told me about Corel, that it has eyedropper and fill tools. But I really feel missing with all those complicated tools and get tired of trying to understand what is what. How to replace the greenish color of the globe with blue one, so it looks more like of the same color as the bottom book from the stack. The rest of the things on the pic should remain their colors.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice to have vba scale the thickness of the the eraser tool based on the current zoom setting. What i'm after is every time i click on the eraser tool, it will autosize to 2% of the current window size. So if im zoomed in really far and the current window has a wdith of 1 inch, the diamter of the eraser would change to 0.02 of af inch. Where as if I was zoomed out far and the current window had a width of 24 inches, the eraser thickness would default to 0.5 inches or something like that. The idea would be for the diameter of the erser to always be the same thicknes % of window size no matter what zoom level im at.
I can figure out how to get the current zoom level, and I know how to make this script run by altering the customization and setting this script's hot key to X. but im not sure if there is a function to change the thickness of the eraser. it doesnt seem to record when I attempt to record a macro.
There is a little annoying folder automatically created by CorelX5 in my document folder, and I don't want it there. It destroys my file arrangement and I hate this.
Question: How can I change the destination of the folder ...Corel which is automatically created in my document folder?

1st i draw a circle, then fill any color. then i turn that circle to bitmap by click the option "Covert to Bitmap" as RGB with 300dpi. Then i select that image, then i go to " Bitmap - Creative - Scatter". Now the image is show with edges scattered. After all these ladder i want to change the color of that image by right click on mouse from the color palatte. someone says, go back and change the color and do all these ladder. Its very difficult. i had seen this thing when i went to a printing firm near by.
I am currently preparing a brochure and need to have one page (of six) in DIN A3 instead of A4 like the others. But I find no possibility to change just the page I need into A3.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am new to CorelDRAW. I am using it to generate scientific application notes that contain both graphics and text. I am running into a problem where I have a negative number that is close to the end of a text line (using justified format). CorelDRAW wants to treat the negative like a hyphen and keep the "-" on one line and then moves the number to the next line. For example, if the phrase "...cooling to -150 C for 5 minutes..." were to wrap across a line, it would look like:
"...cooling to -
150 C for 5 minutes..."
Instead of:
"...cooling to
-150 C for 5 minutes..."
The only way I can figure out how to get past it is to change the width of the text box so the lines wrap in different places. I have tried adding a space or two, adding hidden text (text with the same color as the background).
I am making a booklet up. I have set the workspace paper size to A5 landscape. And set to booklet and facing pages, great, that is a whole lot of hassle dealt with.
But,
I make up my design, looks good on the screen. Export to pdf and print it off and it is printing one page of my work on a single page of A4 paper full size. i.e. I need it printed onto A4 paper in landscape so that I have a left page and a right page, that I can fold in half. But it is just printing like normal.
What do I have to do to get it two print two pages of information onto a single A4 landscape rotated piece of paper?
Often I find that if I have a bitmap within coreldraw and click edit bitmap, do some edits, and then save and return to draw, the dimensions have changed very slightly.
For example I just edited a bitmap that was 24.25" x 9.5" by clicking edit bitmap. I then made some tone adjustments and brushed out a spot, and hit save in photopaint. Now back in draw, I find the image has been scaled slightly down to 24.25" x 9.477" (9.447 instead of 9.5)

Ok so I have x3 and recently installed the trial for x5, since the trial ran out i removed it and carried on as before, this however has left a few things buggy, the first was file assocation which was easier to fix, the other biggie is that I seem unable to edit any bitmaps using the usual method. How do I re-enable the bitmap editing? and if i have the choice I'd rather it opened photoshop to edit the file opposed to corel paint if this is at all possible?
