I want to take a color wheel and draw straight lines on top of it, and using the blending tool or some other tool, I'd want to be able to have those lines take on the colors from the color wheel underneath. Is there a way to do this, or a way to do something like it?

Click on the canvas, hold SHIFT to force a straight line, move towards the bottom of the document, let go of the mouse button, it draws a line straight to my mouse's cursor! I have no other ideas what is causing this.

I have a problem drawing straight lines. Normally, like everyone, I will start from any given point and the line i wish to draw will snap to 0, 90 or 180 degrees. However there is now no snapping and no straight lines.
I have tried resetting SNAPANG to 0 (it is already set to 0) and this works for maybe the next 3 lines but then I am back to square one and cannot draw a straight line without constantly having to reset SNAPANG.
I've tried resetting USC to world. I've also tried changing PLAN to view and world.
I have received some electrical drawings that i'm making some alterations to. When i try to draw a line between fittings it just disappears. I'm not very experienced with auto cad and only really use it to alter drawings for final designs.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to draw a straight line using the line tool, but when I hold down the shift button to draw a straight horizontal line it draws it a an angle. vertical line will go straights, but not the horizontal. I also noticed that the cursor now has an has a horizontal arrow with a vertical line at the end of it in the bottom right corner of the cursor when the line tool or shape tool is used. I went into prefrences and checked the constrain angle but it is set at 0 so I am not sure what to do or what happened. It was working fine and then all of a sudden this happened. Is there a button I may have hit that would cause this? how do I get it to draw straight lines again? I just noticed it wont draw 45 degree angles either. it sticks to angles a few degrees above and below horizontal.

How to draw filled region boundary lines that show up in any color other than gray? it is hard to distinguish the lines I am drawing from the lines that are already there while creating or modifing a boundary. Can I change the color of the Invisible Line (can't find that line modify)? Where I am confused is that once the line is drawn from top to bottom and I go to draw the line across the upper area the anchors stay connected.
I tried the Alt key + click to cut the path but (as you advanced folk probably already know) it didn't work.

Honestly I am not even sure what I ought to be looking for in the manual etc.
I tried just drawing the shape for the Glossy effect and then filling it with the required gradient but frankly it just looks odd ... it looks flat and basically UGLY
The blue line that goes across is the problem for me.
I should also mention, if you go to the tutorial ... it says that I am suppose to Duplicate the Inner Circle but I made too many goofs and somehow all my layers ended up on one layer so rather than doing what the tut instructs I just made a New Layer and then drew a new circle with the Ellipse tool.
Even so, I actually couldn't grasp why or how I was suppose to go about intergrating the new circle with using the Pen Tool to draw the Glossy effect object. So, I skipped that part and just used the Pen tool to draw the needed shape as shown above in pink.
Is there a somewhat easy way to draw this blue line, other than manually click on each anchor points at the top of the black lines?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI decided to draw a long box, 2 pixels wide and fill it with the desired color. That was all fair and well until I tried reducing my image and then the nice looking spider web line that I drew turned into a horrible black and white block line that looks crap.
So, I decided to try and get rid of it, and here I am 45 minutes later still trying to get rid of it. I don't what layer it is on, there are many layers, whenever i find the layer it is and delete it it then turns up in another layer in a different color. I've tried copying and pasting over layers, it just keeps coming back, I don't know what is going on anymore, it wont go away....

I have to wonder what kind of reasoning went into deciding not to have a line tool. It seems so simple to implement compared to all that advanced stuff. The only decent way to make a line currently that I can see is to make a square by filling a selection, shrinking, deleting, then delete all the sides of the square that i don't want. But this is so inefficient to do every time I need a line.
I need do draw perpendicular lines at fixed intervals to a path. The path may be either open or closed. This is used as a symbol on maps to denote a depression with the perpendicular stubs pointing in the direction of the depression. Ideally, I would like the perpendicular lines to draw themselves as I draw the path.

However, the filleted curved corners are not joined with straight lines once it's exported/plotted to PDF. I have to zoom in very closely to see this, so it won't be a big problem for actual printing. But I can't figure out why the lines are broken on PDF when they are well joined in both model and paper space.
I tried changing PDF quality, plot style, and anything I can think of, but to no avail.

I've been using PSP 7 for many years and over the last year or so I can't seem to get a straight line to show up using the Draw Tool (I think the kids may have messed with a setting).
In the Tool Options I select Single Line, a width of 4, solid line and anti-alias. Create as vector and close path are left unchecked.
The problem is that whether I use my left or right mouse button to drag the line, the line does not show up, it just disappears (I'm using colors different from the background, of course).

I'm using scatter brush to draw multiple lines with random size and angle(image 1.), and trying to increase only the horizontal size(image 2.), keeping the interval the same. But when I do, the interval is also increased since 'Spacing' option follows the size of the base object. I could adjust and decrease the spacing value, but the problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. So if want to increase the line size and maintain the interval, there's no way to do it. expending then scaling could work, but that's not what I want.
Total buffoon when it comes to getting GIMP to do what I want to do. I'm just practicing with making maps, black lines on a white background, and I've run into some issues I'm wondering if I can get rectified.
1) For whatever reason, the line weight of everything has shifted throughout the file, ending with some lines lighter and grayer than others. Is there a way I can get GIMP to trace all the lines in a uniform black, with uniform thickness?
2) I have tried locking the white background, but often when I select and move my black lines, if I don't click in just the right spot it moves the white background instead, which is really, reeeaaaly aggravating. How Do I get that background to be completely untouchable?
3) In trying to colour the image, I've run into problems with their being a white outline between the colour and the black lines. I think I need to sharpen the image or somesuch? How can one correct this issue?
4) Is there anyway to convert the black dotted lines of the paths tools into straight black lines, in regards to an older file? If not, is there an easy way to trace them?
5) I find the scale too tends to make my image too jagged. I want to take a section of my map, move it too another file and enlarge it to do detail work - what's the best way to do this in order to have a clear image?
6) Any way to translate an image from a MErcator Projection ot a Winkell-Trippel projection, one that works on a Mac?
