View 3 Replies View RelatedIm using Civil 3d 2012 and I couldn't find the function that I could offset the smooth curve alignment as shown on the attached pdf. I've looked through the offset alignments but those linear, curve-cube-reverse curve, curve-line curve doesn't work much.

it's the blue image at [URL].......
I want to position the logo and the words exactly where they are right now but 'stretch' the image along with its shading gradient, right across the screen.
In LR5 I am trying to import a folder but it is so deep within my hard drive that there are lots of parent folders I have to click through to get to it. The problem is that the left pane is only a few inches wide and by the time I get closer to the folder I wan, I can't see it. It seems like I should be able to simply widen the panel by clicking and dragging the edge of the panel but no slider arrows appear when I hover there. How do I widen the panel?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have a design (which is like a drawing/outline/sketch), and I need to thicken the lines, what should I do?
Two things to remember:
1. This is a design where I am not starting from scratch. It has already been done.
2. I want the lines to be of varying thickness and not all the same throughout the design. I would want to choose the thickness according to my requirements and the design.
Later, I would either use the design as is or color it.
I have an isometric cube where you can only see the visible (front-facing) edges, and all the lines have a stroke width of 1 unit.
How can I automatically make the outer lines thicker (eg 3 units) and leave the inner lines the same, or at least achieve that visual effect? I say automatically because the wireframes I have are far more complex than cubes. I want to avoid anything that involves manual selection or doing anything by eye (such as painting a background).
I have an image which is similar to a white spider's web centred on but slightly rotated to a red spider's web on a solid background. I want to delete the solid background so it appears transparent and delete the white web so all that is left is the lines of red on a transparent background. I used the Magic Wand and Global flood mode to remove the white web and background but the red lines are very thin and broken now.
Is there any easy way to just nudge the thickness up enough to make them more solid? Or is there a plug-in that can do this? I am using v3.36.
I'm working on a project to widen a roadway through some mountains. The problem i am having is getting the corridor to apply to a future surface so that i can determine the volume difference. my profiles show there should be some cut and fill, but i cannot get the model to reflect this. when i try to preform a bounded volume i recieve a "the surfaces do not overlap".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a group of images that I am working on in Corel Draw x5. They are drawings, I scanned them as black/white images then used the "outline trace to clipart" feature to get good images.
I want to thicken the lines but if I use the outline pen tool to change the thickness it draws a box around my images. Is there a way to thicken the lines without getting the box?
I like the dark skin, but it seems more difficult to grab the bottom of the Color Gallery in order to stretch it down. The Grey was easier. The area where the mouse converts to the double arrow is quite narrow. At least for an old shaky man like me. Is there a REGEDIT value I could change to widen the "active" area of the gallery borders for the purpose of stretching them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis sheet metal model was working fine, until I decided to check it against the original AutoCAD drawing. Once I finish the "Side layout" sketch, the two thicken features had exclamation marks.
Create Thicken/Offset feature failed
00014118master.ipt: Errors occurred during update
Thicken7: Could not build this Thicken
The attempted operation did not produce a meaningful result. Try with different inputs. Thicken feature is where I left "End of part"
If I tick "Automatic blending", it still works, but I want to create a new solid.

Autodesk Inventor 2013 SP1.1 64-Bit
Vista Business 64-Bit
E8400, 8GB, ATI FireGL V5600
I've noticed it with 2013, and it's same behavior in 2014.
1. Measurement between yellow faces shows 200 mm
2. Do Rebuild all and measure again: 200 mm
3. Move EOP behind Face1 and measure 200 mm
4. Move EOP down: 200 mm
5. Unsuppress Thicken1
6. Move EOP behind Thicken1: 205 mm now is ok.
7. Move EOP full down: 205 mm
8. Do Rebuild all. Now you get 195 mm. Funny to see, that the red face is moving, too.
9. Move EOP behind Thicken1 and back again. Yellow and red faces are well again.
10. Do it again, and again
I'll have to inspect several of my sheet metal files. And I think, Adesk should have a look here, too.
How can I thicken/offset an entire part without having to select all the faces individually? The 'chain select' option is not good enough for selecting all faces/surfaces that meet and form an edge with no fillet.
Is there still no way of doing this in 2012?
I am having problems creating a profile around a path. The profile (image-1) resulted in an undesirable corner (image-2). Which I don't know if that can be fixed. My workaround was to create a lower profile, and then loft between the 2 rails.
The loft results in a twisted surface (image-3). So to correct this under loft> transition I turn off automatic mapping and edit the point set. I always end up with one extra set of points, or edge, and end up having one set of points on top of another, a duplicate edge. Which I believe is where my problem lies. However I can not delete this extra point set, so there is not much I can do there. Am I missing something? This results in a surface loft (image-4). When I thicken this surface by 6mm it results in this broken solid (image-5)
I have tried merging tangent surfaces in the loft command, which appears to work better, but when using thicken the error message reads that the thicken operation did not produce a meaningful result. When I change the thicken direction I get a solid, just not the one that I need.
I had many other strange errors, and seemed to have solved some of them by taking the fillets out the sketch, and applying them to the solid. But this should be an easy operation, and I can't seem to make this work at all.
I am using Inventor 2014 and the ipt file is attached.
Having issue with the layer dialogue box showing not enough layer name. Is it possible to widen it or is that controlled somewhere?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bear of a project where I have to match different fonts w/ different "logos", and being able to highlight the font, and then use the font menu and, maybe, the up/down arrow keys would make my life infinitely easier.
This works in InDesign.. and every other program on Earth... is there ANY way to do this in Illy CS4?
One of the few software that didn't play nice was CS3, so I had to re-install it. Now, many of the fonts won't show up. I'm doing a logo for a client and I need some fonts but fonts from the following- New Peninim, Corsiva Hebrew, Ariel Hebrew and/or Raanana-- don't appear after you engage the Type tool. What shows up in both Photoshop and especially Illustrator is a square box with nothing in it.
columns on line and followed 4 or 5 different "solutions"-- nothing seems to work. I even, against my suspicions, called the Adobe customer service and the best they could offer was to post a question here if my answer was not apparent.
Bearing in mind that I've put fonts in the Adobe folder, reset characters and a few other things since yesterday.
just installed illustrator cs6, am not fluent in cs5. I cannot find any fonts. the character window shows no type face selections. Did I install wrong or aren't there any fonts that come with this version.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with Illustrator 6. I had a previous verison (CS4 and CS5) that was used to created some documents. I'm having trouble with the fonts used translating to the new version even though in the font library, all the fonts I need are listed there.
Is there an issue with backwards compatability?
I just upgraded to CS6 from CS4. Some fonts that worked without a problem in CS4 no longer even show up in the font options in CS6. I use Font Agent Pro to manage my fonts. They are not corrupt, they work on other computers, and were purchased from online font foundries.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Illustrator CS5 and I am having problems with my fonts. I like to type my text, highlight it, and then click on the font I am using and scroll down so I can see the text I've type changed until I find the font I want.
However, I am having some issues - it only seems to go through fonts in sections. I have a lot of fonts on my computer but I cant scroll through more than about 10/15 without it either jumping to the end/bottom font or going back to the font I started on.
how to edit a PDF file in Illustrator when you don't have the fonts. This is a godsend and thought others might benefit from it if they don't know about it.
You get a PDF file from somebody and when you try to open it in Illustrator, the PDF is using fonts that you don't have so it substitutes the fonts and screws everything up.
Create a new Illustrator document the size of the PDF. Place the PDF into the Illustrator document. While the PDF is selected, go to Object menu / Flatten Transparency...In there, make sure"Convert All Test to Outlines" IS checked.Click OK and there you go, everything is converted to outlines, including the fonts and you can do with it what you want.
when trying to preview different fonts in AI i am unable to scroll through them using the arrow keys, it just doesnt move... if it can be fixed... oh im using cs3 and a mac on os x leopard

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with Illustrator CS6 on Win7 x86 on one of our users' machines. The font Arial Narrow is installed, MS Word / Framemaker pick it up and you can use it, but Illustrator and InDesign won't see the font. So my user can't use Arial Narrow as the family so can't select the font for bold/italics/underline. He can only choose narrow as a sub style of the Arial family, but Arial Narrow has been installed seperately.
The font has also been placed in the Common subfolder for adobe softwares, but after that it still won't be found. What has been tried:
Uninstall and Reinstall the fontAdd font to font folders for adobe products (both common and product specific)Clearing Windows and Adobe font caches ..All these steps have not solved our problem.
A client really likes a font and wants me to incorporate it into her logo. I installed the font and it's working in Pages and other programs, but not in Adobe CS6 applications (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign). I installed a ttf and an otf version of the font but neither work. I installed & validated the font with Font Book. I've tried a lot of the fixes I've seen on these forums but nothing's worked. I've restarted my computer a few times too.
