I have an azerty laptop and a qwerty external keyboard. Switching from any application to illustrator changes the language and therefore also my keyboard layout.
View 2 Repliesi'm working in Illustrator, suddenly the Z becomes Y instead and all other signs are somewhere else - it basically changes language keyboard. I work with a swiss german keyboard but my program language is english. My regional preferences are set up correctly and no other applications give me this grief except Illustrator. I'm forced to shut it down and re-open, then the keyboard is back to its correct state, until it switches again.
I don't understand what causes it to suddenly switch keyboards while I'm working - how I can make Illustrator STOP it? It's especially unnerving since the Undo command Ctrl+Z gives you Outline mode instead.
Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcut which opens Adobe Bridge from Illustrator? Often when I'm working quickly I accidentally hit this (option command o) instead of (shift command o) to outline type. It halts everything to open Bridge, which I never use. Is there any way to disable this command?
View 1 Replies View Relatedso naturally our keyboard layouts are Danish.But there's a fantastic shortcut in Illustrator, that only works with the English layout. Basically - make a square and place a pattern in it. If you rotate the box using 'R' you rotate the entire box and the pattern. But if you hold the 'button next to 1' (tilde in some parts of the world, console in other parts) and then press 'R' it will only rotate the pattern and not the box.
However, that only works with the English layout.. what is the name of that function, so I can set up the shortcut manually or change the keys needed for the shortcut?
Background: We have a correctly functioning installation of Win XP, and PS CS3 Extended which appears to work normally in every other regard. No obvious errors; no crashes, no start-up complaints; nothing seemingly out of order. I use several installed languages in Windows (Eng UK, Russian, Swedish, etc). All of these work normally. All of my installed fonts work correctly in every application on the system except for CS3.
There would appear to be something wrong with CS3's keyboard mapping in foreign languages. When typing with a non-English keyboard setting (any other language) and using True Type fonts (not Open), only 'missing character' boxes appear in the artwork. The Layers menu displays the typed text correctly, but this will not appear in the artwork. If I use an old install of PS7, I can type using these same fonts correctly in any language. These layers can be imported into CS3, and these WILL display correctly on the artwork. However, the Layers menu in this case displays nonsensical characters. Ergo, I suspect that CS3's keyboard input data is errant.
Where does PS3 keep its information regarding language / keyboard layout? It is possible to edit this file(s)?
I'm using win8 with photoshop cs5. Using english & hebrew languages. When using hebrew the keyboard shortcuts (exe: T for type, Ctrl+C, etc) doesnt work. everytime i need to change back to EN to use the keyboard. where can be the problem?

But when I open Revit after this change, I get an error message and says the licence I have in not valid and I can only use the software as a trial version. When I change back the language setting to German, this problem goes away.

I tried to do this with dreamweaver by converting the hole image to a html table, but this didn't work out. So I started dragging text boxes which snap to the slices. This seems to be a good solution but how align the text vertically into the box? I want to put the text exactly in the middle. I would also like to create a margin all around the box. I can post an image clarification would be necessary. Did anybody do this before, could you post a picture?

View 6 Replies View RelatedInDesign and a number of other Creative Suite programs work great when I set my keyboard layout to Dvorak. They continue to interpret commands as QWERTY but interpret typing as Dvorak.
Photoshop doesn't though and it drives me crazy to continually switch keyboard layouts every time I want to go from image editing to text editing. Is there a way to get Photoshop to behave like InDesign with regards to this?

I prefer to use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+< for step backwards and SHIFT CTRL+> for step forwards in the Application Menus > Edit. After changing to these shortcuts I save them but each time I restart Photo-show they have changed back to their original settings. How can I stop this happening?
