I have created a swatch panel with my own colours - named "custom 1" in CS6...how to add a new colour to "custom 1" at a later stage? Surely once you create a custom swatch panel, it can have colours added to it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a set of process color swatches which I defined as LAB colors. I use them mostly in InDesign. This morning I opened them as a swatch library in Illustrator for the first time. The CMYK numbers are significantly different from what they are in InDesign. Both documents have the same color management policies/rendering intent. I know that there is no "LAB mode" in Illustrator but I'm surprised that it translates the LAB>CMYK in a different fashion than does InDesign. I guess the solution would be to remake my swatches defining them as CMYK colors. However, that somewhat defeats my original plan: define the swatches in LAB so they will get translated as accurately as possible in different programs.I'm using CS4 on a Mac.

I have created my own "Swatches" (Farbfelder) and saved (too) many of them.
Now I want to delete the majority, but I cannot find the directory "Benutzerdefiniert" or "User created?" on the path as hinted by the Illustrator Help (German version: Adobe Illustrator/Vorgaben/de_DE/Farbfelder). I only find the various Color Collections stored during Illustrator installation.

I've made a design in Ai CS6 (with colorspace) and have used several Pantone swatches. From a few Pantone colors I have used only a percentage of the color, for example the design consists of: 75% of Pantone 485 C, 32% of Pantone 1345 C and 100% of Pantone 154 C.
In the process of the design I have used several other Pantone colors which are not used in the final design, but they are still in the Swatch tab/list. So when you click on the triangle (upper right corner) > "Select All Unused..", the Pantone colors that are only used as percentages (Pantone 485 C & Pantone 1345 C in the example) are being selected as "Unused" ?!
I have been using Ai CS4 before this version and in that version this wasn't a problem.I could you percentages of Pantone colors without the swatch being selected as "Unused".
I really don't want to manual delete every unused swatch by dragging it into the trash bin.It would be such a time wasting handling.This is really inconvenient as I am working for a print and design company and need to save the Pantone colors that are used in the design, even if they are only a percentage of the Pantone swatch.
I made a bunch of custom brushes and created a new brush library for each group in Illustrator 5.5. A couple of libraries are basically dupes and I no longer need them.
Is there a way to delete the "whole" user defined library pallet.

I've tried saving workspaces with the Pantone Solid Coated swatch open and marked "persistent" and nothing seems to work.
I created user defined AI brushes which I can't find to delete within MAC Lion. They are not in Library>Application Support>Adobe, because Adobe Illustrator folder does not exist there. They are not under Users either. Any clues as to were these custom brushes are buried?

In trying to figure out where the swatches are I came across a forum post from adobe that mentioned they were in application support in the library.
Well in my case they are not.
When I go to save a new swatch library it shows the path on my mac as...

But i cannot find a way to access this folder to delet the swatch libraries...

I was always able to do this before. (should be simple...) I made a gradient and just want to save / add it to a Swatch Panel that I've already defined and saved. I used to be able to drag (I think) the gradient into the desired Swatch Panel and then 'save the swatch again' It won't let me do this today even though I just did it last night!
I'm working on a Windows 7 machine and I am using Illustrator CS5....
I'm having an issue where I can't convert spot colors to CMYK in the swatches panel. Currently to fix I have to copy elements using the spot colors in to a new blank document, then convert them, then paste back into the original document.
Also if I try to delete the spot color, it doesn't fully delete the swatch.
I'm using Illustrator CC 17.0.0

The Illustrator swatch panel is far more advanced and user-friendly than the PS version, i.e. create swatch folders, move and delete colours from anywhere in the order etc.
I'm increasingly surprised that Adobe haven't improved it with new releases (I am now using CC software and still nothing).
Are there any plans to match the Illustrator functionality?
I have CS5. The bugs and broken features in AICS6, make it unusable in my workflow.
I am specifically concerned about the inability to drag global color swatches from the color panel to Gradient stops in the Gradient Panel. I use this method to update a gradient color because I find it MUCH faster than option-dragging to duplicate a stop color, then deleting the unused stop. Since I do this constantly, I find using CS6 very tedious.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to add text to the fills, strokes, drop shadows & textures that I already created using the appearance panel? Seems like you can build upon text using the appearance panel, but not visa-versa. Is that correct? I thought I was being proactive using the appearance panel the other day to build a burst that I was later going to add text to. But now that I have the text I cant find a way to add it into the appearance panel. I got around it by making what I had built into a graphic style and then applying that to the text. But I had to redefine the shapes that I had originally built to make it work.
Also, is there any way to break these elements apart when you use transform in the appearance panel? For instance, sometimes I will create a pattern using the transform tool and then I am asked to change the color of the shape in the middle.
I just started using PS (CS6) and I added 10 new custom swatches that I want to save in a new swatch library. However, I still have the PS default library of swatches listed (that contains scores of colors). Can I select multiple swatches at once to save them for the swatch library? Or do I need to delete ALL the default swatches first manually, then save the remaining colors in the new swatch library? If so, it makes it a daunting task...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am proficient in Illustrator, but this has been one of a few enigmas. Every once and a while in a file, I have noticed that after deleting a color that is definitely not in use(ie there are no strokes, fills, stray paths etc) using these colors. I have made sure of it. I will delete the color from the swatches and as a final pass I like to add used colors and sure enough that color will come back. I tried making sure it's not checked global, didn't work, some I don't even think are global colors, and in fact they are generally CMYK. I often notice that Black and C:0 M:0 Y:0 K:100 don't like to delete from the swatches among some other colors when you delete unused swatches. I thought perhaps they were in guides or something but it's truly unexplainable, and generally with a fresh file if all colors are deleted it'll still leave black white and gray.
Or ways to troubleshoot better other than creating a debug file and deleting lines of code as recommended in the older forums?
My colour swatches disappeared although I clicked on "show all swatches". What do I have to do to appear regularly when opening Illustrator?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe act of opening the CHM file is no problem from VBA. However, this particular routine does not use a dialog box, only a "select objects" prompt. I want to allow the user to press "F1" or "'HELP" at this point and have it open my CHM file.
In lisp, you can use (setfunhelp) to do this.
So in theory, if the VBA sub is called like this:
(defun c:foo ()(vl-vbaload "c:/program files/

...then the lisp function should work, but it doesn't. Pressing "F1" or "'HELP" during the vba routine, simply opens the AutoCAD HELP to the default page.
