View 1 RepliesI'm planning to migrate from OS X to Windows 7 and therefore want to use my AI CS 6 license on the new operating system. Now my questions:
1) Where can I download AI CS 6 for Windows 7?
2) Can I use my Macversion serial number with the windows AI CS 6?
Please note that I don't want to upgrade to AI CC!
I would like to change my CS 4 Version of Illustrator to Mac. Unfortunately I only have a Version for Windows is this possible

My old version of Illustrator 8.0 at Set Up will not load ?
Is there a work around for 64 bit ?
Apparently randomly, Illustrator crashes when I try to save a file that I last edited several days ago. It consistently crashes on the same file, but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. I've tried resetting my profile and deleting temporary files (disk cleanup) to no avail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust latetly, when I am exporting .jpgs in Illustrator 6.0, there usually is the Export Options window that pops up asking my preference (cmyk, rgb, etc) . Lately this is not happening and it just exports CMYK on it's own.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn a Mac -- CS6..All of a sudden my document windows refuse to resize. I was sent an Illustrator file by another artist and now all windows only open to the size of his window. Can't change any of them.
Tried restarting the program twice and thought I reset my preference.
Unable to print document on windows CS6.6..Not enough memory was available or an object was too complex. Reducing the size of this document window may work. Document was created on mac book pro CS 16.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs I've done with so many other actions before, I am using Insert Menu Item. But when I choose Window>Arrange>Tile, it doesn't fill in that item. I've tried typing "tile" in the Insert Menu Item dialog, and clicking Find, but that results in Effect> Texture> Mosaic Tiles. Which is not the item I want
Why can't I choose Window>Arrange> Tile? Or, is there a workaround?
I'm on a iMac running 10.7.5 and all 3 of my Adobe products (Illustrator CS5.1, Photoshop CS5.1 and Flash CS5.5) have the same issue, the file info window is blank. It dosen't freeze up my machine but I have to force quit the program. I trashed the prefs file for photoshop and still no luck. The extension are whatever came with the install. It's the only menu item this happens with.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to create a set of framed windows that are transparent, so that I can place any image below the frame in the stacking order, and the image will show through the windows.
If it worked, the image below would show the trees though the five windows instead of the five white rounded rectangles, but the grey gradiant and the text would remain.
I thought masking could do it, but Masking crops the image to the window, but it also removes the grey gradiant frame, andI can't get masking to work with more than on window, even if I group the five windows.
I have a dynamic path for mac osx:
var progressbaricon = File(app.path+'/Presets.localized/' + app.locale + '/Scripts/idatabase/Images/For_the_birds/progressbar.png');
Now i want to create the same path for windows
I have been using Illustrator CS3 for several years under WinXP, and have now upgraded the OS to WIN7. I am failing to install, whatever I do it comes back with the following error message:
`The installer database is corrupt, if this continues .....'
I had onscreen chats with Adobe's Vallen and (maybe) Sumar, who just sent me back to the Support page and forum page. Digging there I eventually found [URL] ....... and followed the instructions, including deleting the caps folder because neither of the database files were in it.
There is a suggestion that I would get somewhere if I was disconnected from the internet. I am wondering also if removal of Photoshop Elements 10 would get rid of a conflict (I have already stripped out most other Adobe programs). I am pretty sure that before loading WIn7 I had been forced to uninstall CS3 for reasons of space, so I don't think ther should be an issue of serial nos.
We have a couple of issues with Illustrator CC on a number of workstations?
1. It randomly switches between open windows; if I am working in one window it will switch to another open window even if that window is put in the dock.
2. Constantly crashes.
I seem to have lost my icons for Illustrator CS2 and InDesign CS2 files. The files show as a standard white "page" icon, instead of the program icon. Since I often have multiple Adobe file formats in one folder, it makes it difficult to distinguish which ones are Illustrator vs. InDesign. Oddly enough, Photoshop files and GoLive site files show their icons for files.
I read elsewhere online that this could be caused by a cleaning utility program such as CCleaner when "{GUID} folders are deleted from C:WindowsInstaller." However, I can't find the answer as to how to FIX it.
I have tried using Windows>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a program to check that Illustrator and InDesign are set as defaults to open the files. I found that the programs were set to shortcuts within the Adobe folder. I fixed that by deleting the shortcut and putting the actual program link as the source to open the program. (Actual program .exe file was located within Adobe Illustrator> Support Files>Contents>Windows.)
Also, I have the Adobe CS2 Suite installed under Program Files (x86).
I recently bought a Dell 1720 laptop that had such a poor display that I
returned it. Can anyone here recommend a good Windows laptop for running
Photoshop and Illustrator.
I signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud, so that I could evaluate the latest version of Illustrator and Photoshop. I downloaded and installed Illustrator, however my computer crawled after the install. So I had to do a System Restore back to before the download and install of Illustrator.
After the System Restore, I again downloaded and installed Illustrator. The program showed up in the programs menu. I then downloaded and installed Photoshop and Dreamweaver. But after that, two separate versions of Photoshop show up - regular and 64 bit (I only downloaded and installed one version of Photoshop), and Dreamweaver. Illustrator no longer shows up in the Windows 7 Programs menu. How is this possible???
I looked in C:Program Files, and a 342MB Illustrator CC file is there. But I cannot find a .exe file in that file, and so cannot start Illustrator.
Worse still, when I try to download and install Illustrator once again, Adobe Creative Cloud shows me as having downloaded and installed it already, and that it is working perfectly - which is of course, NOT TRUE! Creative Cloud will accordingly not allow me to download and install Illustrator again! So while Creative Cloud thinks I have a worling version of Illustrator CC to try out and evaluate, I in fact do not!
What happened, and why the version installed in Program Files folder is not showing up i the Programs Menus of Windows 7, and or what I can do to get Illustrator to start up.
When I select "open" from the menu, the "open" dialog box opens and then immediately shuts. I can't open a document in Illustrator. Also, this has been happening in other dialog boxes, such as save as....
Creative Cloud indicates my software is up to date.
When I do double click to open a file of Illustrator, the application starts with a little interface and then a dialog box that says "Not enough space for the window, increase the size of the document and try again" appears.

It is working in Photoshop tho.
I have tried CS5 & CS4 and when I open the program and attempt to open or save an .ai file, the program completely crashes. My system specs are as follows:

I am trying to change the color of all the windows on a picture but some of the windows have a reflection of the trees and light posts. How do I change those window colors without covering up the reflections?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a feeling this may come under the heading of 'dumb queries'. Nonetheless: Illustrator CS6 (Mac OS X 10.6) has just started opening documents with the working window hard left of the screen, rather than immediately tot he right of the toolbar. I hope the attached graphic makes this clear:
This happens when opening documents by double-clicking in the Finder and by using File > Open in Illustrator itself.I've tried resetting preferences; and moving the window to the correct position, creating a new workspace and restarting Illustrator. Sadly neither action works.
Using CS5 windows won't print all the graphics of the file, even to a PS printer. Some of the graphics don't print at all and some print in a reverse color.
