Oct 23, 2012I found out that you can't change line color in the line nova because a fix to prevent white on white or something like that. Is there another way to change the line color.

Aug 11, 2013I'm using CS2 and have the following issue. I've scanned some line art (white paper, black ink) into the computer and opened it up in PS. Some of the larger areas of black were spotty, so I went over them using PS black.
Many layers above the background, I'm unable to mark anything over the initial line art. I'd like to add dots of white (stars in space) and I want to have a narrow border of green, with black on both sides. I am working in the top layer, and none are locked.

Aug 9, 2011On a new transparent layer, I have drawn a straight line with the pencil tool. I select the Box Selection tool to select the whole line that I just drawn. I switch to the Move tool and made sure to move just the selection.
At this point, I would think that I would be able to move the line but only the box that is shown by the Box Selection tool moves. The line doesn't move at all. However, when I tell the Move tool to move the selected layer, the whole canvas moves, including the line. Why can't I just select just the line and move it?

1. whenever i use the paintbrush the paint doesnt completely come on the board. like it kindof "skips" where it adds paint and where it doesnt.
2. I'm trying to add color to a lineart i'm making, and the color wont change. Like I'll try to change the color from black to orange. on the palet it says the color is orange but it still shows up as black (with a paintbrush or a pencil).

I have changed the line weight in the layer properties, in the Profile properties and tried changed the line weight in the pen style. I use the ltype command then load either Hidden, or dashed ISO,or both, and invariably the scale is way off in that I always end up with a still solid line, after using modify properties. After all that, every line I draw after that comes out dashed. Maybe I should fool with the layers? Is there a basic procedure I should follow here?

GIMP :: Set Path Preview Line To Show Straight Line
Oct 12, 2012I've just recently caught up to 2.8 (From 2.4 something or other believe it or not ) and amongst a couple of things I have to say I don't like is the fact that previously when setting a path, if I wanted it to be either perfectly horizontal or vertical I could see by the steps in the path preview line whether it was or not.
With the new version, initially at least, that's no longer the case. As I tend to work with straight lines a lot of the time it's proving to be a bit of a pain. Is there any way to set the path preview line to show the steps again to indicate a straight line.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Can't Change Line Color
Aug 31, 2012Been using ACAD for 20+years...AutoCAD 2012/Civil 3D 2012 is driving me nuts. Simple question I am sure. I created a new layer with green as its color. It is showing up as yellow in my viewport. I checked my plot style(ctb), and is same as I have used for many years....prints black(pen 7). Typically shows green on screen and plots black. Looking in the Layer Properties Manager, I noticed that on the far right, there is a column labeled 'VP Plot Syle'. It has Color 2(yellow) shown. How do I change this as I am guessing this is causing issue.

May 25, 2012I've seen umpteen explanations of how to change lineweights in Revit.None of them address this simple thing I'm trying to do.
I just want to:
1. Create a few lilnestyles that appear along side the other line styles - for instance:
Thin Line, Medium Line, Thick Line, <<Really Thick Line, >> <<Absurdly Thick Line,>> etc, etc..
2. Draw a line
3. Click on the line
4. Select from a drop down list, "Absurdly Thick Line" and have it instantly inherit the linestyle I created.
The only way I can do this is to create a family, make a new subcategory of Detail Items, create the characteristics I want in the line, export it as a .dwg file, then import it into Revit - and then I see the new line style along side the other line styles, and I can then select any line and make it the new line style.
Certainly, there is an easy to find, simple, straightforward way to add line styles to the existing group - and have those new line styles become immediately accessible from the "Modify Lines" Linestyle Drop down Menu.

Feb 24, 2013I'm a machine knitter. I'm converting images into 2,3 or 4-colors for knitting on my compuerized knitting machine. I need to have a separate "line" for each color of the image in order for my machine to knit with yarn of that color. If 4 colors, I must knit 4 times for each row, once with each color.
I'm doing pretty well with creating the needed image file of 2,3 or 4 colors, but have no clue how I might be able to create a master monster file where each horizontal "line" is essentially exploded into 4 lines, one for each color.

Sep 4, 2012I'm trying to create a rectangle with a red border and no inside fill. It's only to highlight some text of a bank form.
I know i have to right click the layer and choose blending options and stroke. But I've tried to change the color so many times and no matter what I do, the outer line remains gray and with rounded corners.
I want the corners of the rectangle to be squared, not rounded but I'm having a hard time changing this.
I'm using Photoshop CS3

I normally try to color inside the lines and whatnot, but that takes forever.. Is there a way I can color and not worry about going outside the lines?

the line drawing has a dozen or so areas created by the intersecting lines. I would like to fill the various areas with different colors. How can I do that?
If I pour a color paint on the picture without doing anything, the entire page changes to the color poured. Not what I want to do. I want area A to be red, area B to be blue, and area C to be yellow.
GIMP :: Filling Line-drawn Shape With A Color
May 10, 2011I have a cartoon line drawing. The black outlines are anti aliased so the edges of the lines have different grades of gray pixels on them. When I use the fill tool, and adjust the fill with the opacity and tolerance sliders, (I think that's what they're called in GIMP), I still can't get what I want. Only some of the gray pixels are colored in. Others are canceled out. Completely covered by the color, erasing some of the line.
Or some pixels remain uncolored. Just gray instead of a combination of the gray AND the fill color. What I'm looking for is an effect that looks like I placed a colored gel shaped like the cartoon character over the drawing. All the different shades of gray pixels should still be seen. Even the ones that are lighter than the fill color. With a gel, those pixels would appear darker, even though they were lighter than the fill color without the gel over them. The darkness of the color PLUS the added darkness of even the lightest gray pixels should make all the pixels appear darker. And the line would appear complete. Not partially erased.
Is it at all possible to get this effect?
