GIMP :: Pasting One PNG Onto Every JPG In Directory?

Jun 10, 2012

I have tried many so called batch plug ins and am now convinced that Gimp plugins are the new "Rick Roll" because not one has ever done anything or even been recognized by the main Gimp program.

I know there has to be a way to just select one transparent png file and paste it onto every jpg in a directory automatically. This of course assumes that all files involved are the same size and shape.

GIMP :: Can't Find Pictures Saved To Bin Directory

Oct 3, 2012

I have an odd behavior with saving, how to deal with. This is using Gimp 2.6.11 under Windows 7 Professional SP1.

When you do a "Save As" for a new picture, the default directory is "\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin". I have been careless and sometimes clicked "Save" without changing the directory. When I go to the directory "C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\bin", the files are not visible. But within Gimp, I can use the "Open" menu item to see them and open them, so they do exist.

how I can delete these files, because they don't belong in the bin directory?

GIMP :: Default Directory For Opening Files?

Apr 3, 2013

I have recently switched from GIMP 2.2 to GIMP 2.8. I'm using Linux (Mageia 3)

With 2.2, if I ran the GIMP from the command line, when I did File-> Open the file browser would open in the same directory that I had started the GIMP from.

With 2.8 the file browser opens in "Recently Used" and I have to navigate to the directory I want. Is there any way to make it open in the current directory instead?

GIMP :: Get Current Image Filename And Directory Name In Script-fu?

Jan 30, 2011

I need to process multiple photos every day in the same way and am trying to minimize the effort needed by automating Gimp with Scrip-fu, which seems to be kind of limited. My plan was to save the files in specified folders and using incron (an inotify service) to open them in Gimp; do a manual perspective backward transformation by hand and start a script would, resize them and based on their filename and what directory they came from, save them to the correct folders for display on web pages.

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to get the filename and directory which the images came from.

Photoshop :: Cropping From A Directory

Feb 18, 2012

I have a directory from a client with around 20,000 photos. most are in landscape format, while some in portrait format. The client wants all the photos cropped to 800x600 for the landscape and 600x??? for the portrait. With such a large number of photos what is the best way to get this done. Is there any type of logic I can apply to a photoshop script that can determine the image size and what it should be cropped, or resized to?

AutoCAD LT :: Directory Name Is Invalid?

Jun 14, 2012

I have a single lic. copy of AutoCAD 2012 LT on a single PC tied to a network server.  Our server crashed and needed to be replaced.  When they replaced the server, they gave it a new name so I had to reset all the file paths to the redirected folders for my PC.  Now I keep getting an error: cannot create temporary file (then shows the file path to the old server).

I have reset all the file location in the files section of the options box, so I do not understand where AutoCAD is still seeing the old server.  Is there somewhere else in the software that I need to change the file paths?

AutoCAD Mechanical, using the <<VANILLA>> variant.

Click open icon.  AutoCAD pops up the file open dialog box, in the wrong directory.  I select the directory where my files are and open a file.

Then I click the open icon again.  AutoCAD pops up the file open dialog box in the same wrong directory.  I have to change directories every time I open a file.  Yes, I have the directory I want set in the places.  But that's never been how AutoCAD works.

Lightroom :: 3.6 Can't Export To Directory On READYNAS

Apr 8, 2012

I have Lightroom 3.6.  I also have a lot of images.  So I got a READYNAS RNDU4000 disk array (RAID) with 4 disks each of 2 TB. My computer is running Windows XP Professional SP3.  It mounts the RAID array as a network drive just fine.  Now suppose I have some new images.  I make a new folder on the RAID array, lets say it is called "WildAnimalPark" and copy the images in there.   I start up Lightroom, and choose Import Files, and point it at WildAniamalPark, and it imports the images just fine, and lets me make adjustments.  (The Lightroom catalog is in my F drive, a hard drive on my computer.)  Now I want to export smaller jpegs suitable for web or e-mail.  So I go to File->Export.  I tell it to export the images to "Same folder as original photo", and check "Put in Subfolder" and name the subfolder "email".  Farther down I ask for the images to be scaled to 800 pixels on the long edge and to limit the file size to 125K.  (I doubt these details matter.)  When I click "export", it appears like it is going to work.  You can see the progress bar move across as it makes the files.   But then I get an dialog box that says, "Some export operations were not performed.  The file could not be written," followed by a list of off the files it should have written.  When I look it the original directory, I see that it has created the subfolder "email" (so it really can write to the RAID array), but it is empty.

I should add that it works perfectly if I put the directory on a local hard drive.

Lightroom :: How To Import A Directory From The Harddrive

Mar 13, 2012

I like LR4, the best are the RGB curves :-)

But there are some little things which would make the handling a lot better:

1) Import Dialog

If I want to import a directory from the harddrive and I navigate to it using the dialog it will start scanning the whole drive including subfolders for images. That locks up the application so I can either wait for 15 minutes or use the task manager to close it.

I found no way to enable/disable the setting "include subfolders" from case to case.

2) Import Dialog

The setting "handle JPEG with RAW" is burried in the general property dialog, but it should be part of the import dialog - logically.

3) Import Dialog

I would like to sort by file TYPE - this way I can easily select the RAWs only, and only pick the JPPE I really like.

4)  Library View

There are all sorts for X:Y and Y:X zoom setting, but no setting to view the images at a certain output size. How am I supposed to check images if they are ok to be printed ok at 10 x 16 '' for example if my images have a different size?

I dearly miss a possibilty to view at a certain dpi rate, or certain pixel width or inch or cm -  the pixel based 1:x zoom rates look a bit dated and not of practical use.

5) Automatic stacks

There is a function to create stacks by time, but not by filename. It would be so practical to stack RAW and JPEG if that would be possible.

6) Print Module

How can I select´the page size in the otherwise very useful print module?

Esspecially when I need to create JPEG - I want to set a desired size.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: VBA - GMS Directory Is Read Only

Apr 8, 2012

I'm writing my first VBA apps in Corel Draw X5.  I want to modify the standard FileCOnverter .GMS file that came with X5.  Every time I try and save changes I'm advised that the file is Read Only.  I've also copied the original .GMS file, but I get the same error messages on the new file.

Next I tried to create a new .GMS file by creating a .TXT file and renaming the extension to a .GMS folder (as all of the user guides explain to do).  Once again the VBA editer will not allow me to make changes within the file, although it did allow me to create a Macro.

I'm also interested if I can have the .GMS files in a directory other than the Corel Draw GMS directory.  It is bad programming practice to save data files in a Program File directory.

CorelDRAW X4 :: Write A Macro To Open To Specified Directory

Nov 13, 2013

trying to write a macro to open to a specified directory.

SendKeys "^(o)"
SendKeys "\G-SERVERCorel Draw files
SendKeys"{ENTER}"

Problem is that it doesn't type the text exactly as given. Randomly drops off the first few characters.Because hitting open defaults to the libraries instead of my server where the files are located.

When you hit open the cursor is already in the "File name:" field so if I just type the directory there and hit enter it takes me to that directory. Sure would be nice to just have it type that for me and enter. Had it working great for a few times but aftaerr navigating around for a bit it drops off those characters.

VideoStudio :: Not Enough Space In Working Directory Error

Dec 16, 2012

I have been using Corel Video Studio Pro X4 for a while and never had this problem before. When I try to burn a clip to dvd I get the message:

The working folder C:documents and settingsxxxmy documentscorelvideostudio14.0 may not have enough space. We will clean up the converted cache file. You can also change the working folder in preferences.

The problem is I have already changed the working folder in preferences. When I click on ok to see if it will clean up the converted cache file nothing happens. Why is this coming up when I have the working folder in a different drive with well over 370 gig of space. How do I get this to work again. Another thing I was burning a clip and when it finished it came up with a error and did not work. That is when I tried to re burn the file and got this message. I have tried burning a different file and get the same message. As it is it is useless to me now.
