How do I separate images after gangscan? I am scanning many old family photos. I am scanning 6 at one time and saving them as a .jpg. How would I go about separating those pictures into individual .jpgs?
View 2 RepliesI'm new to GIMP. I want to use it to create/test colour (or greyscale) separations for a woodcut, but I'm finding it hard.

I open the image in GIMP, then from Image I choose mode - indexed, 4 colours. So far so good as this gives me the 4 greyscale levels I need to create a two block woodcut. Now I use the 'select by colour' tool to find the first colour, and I paste this into a new layer. That works fine. Then I select the next colour and try to paste that into a second new layer, but it doesn't work. It produces another layer called 'Floating Selection (pasted layer)' and won't paste the second or third layers.
How can I separate the 4 layers into individual images??
I don't even know if this is possible, but I have a logo that has two separate images in it, overlapping. I would like to separate the two images whole.

How can I separate the images so I will be able to move each of them separately in order to insert more images and change the order of them in the collage.
if it was possible to send a single print job from photoshop to a printer so that an image1 is sent to be printed on page 1, and an image2 is sent to be printed on page 2. can 2 seperate image files be printed so that the first is considered page1 and the second is considered page 2?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm basically trying to match the colour of the single jar shot to that of the jars in the colour reference file (the one with loads of jars), so it looks as if the single shot could be a closeup from the group shoot.
There's a batch of these single jar shots so I was looking for an adjustment I could do once and then apply uniformly to the rest.
My attempt was to create a series of adjustment layers that worked for one image and then apply that to the rest, but I couldn't come up with the correct combination of adjustments that matched the reference.
I'm confident with doing colour adjustments on the items inside the jar so you needn't worry about that, it's more the overall white balance / slight lessening of shadow underneath the shelves / shine of the glass jars / warmth and cleanliness of the picture's tone.
The single shots will cycle through as a GIF, so it's important to look as if it's just the content of the jars changing, rather than the entire shot - hence needing a single solution that was applicable to all pictures.
Ok gang my daughter as asked me to print of a image of her and her sisters - she's going to redraw over it with thick pencils.
My question is this, how do i or can i make four separate proportional images of the one big one for print of on A4, so it would be four quarters re assembled as the one big original?
I am preparing a multiple page document and would like to know if there is a method of importing separate .eps files into individual pages, with only one image per page. I have been using CorelDRAW X3 for awhile, but do not know any Visual Basic to create a macro to do what I am looking for. The imprint project has a base layer template and several company logos that need to go into their own layer. Is there a way to bring all the logos in at once and have them create their own layer without manually creating each layer and placing images one by one? The plate number, which is engraved in the design of the stamp, has an effect on the stamp's value. Unfortunately on a number of stamps the cancellation mark obliterates the plate number. I would like to be able, in a digital image, to lift the image of the cancellation mark to reveal the design underneath.
I have tried using Adobe and Corel imaging software without luck.
I have two jpg images in two separate windows. I want to put one of the jpgs onto the other...like layering it over a particular part of the other image. When I attempt to do this the image doesn't show up in the receiving window and disappears from the originating window. I also tried to do a regular copy and paste between open windows and that doesn't work either.

I would like to have an action which allows me to save a general purpose size image for e-mailing to customers as well as a thumbnail size image for photo invoices. This I could do normally by making two seperate actions for the two, but there is an issue with the categories of image types.
Within the catalog the images are of products, and thus are related to a brand. I would like to index the images into a brand based folder, and then into seperate folders for thumbnails and general use.
So essentially, the workflow would be something along the lines of
Create New Folder for Brand/ Category
Open Image
Resize for General Use
Save Image As... in Brand > General Use
Resize for Thumbnail
Save Image As... in Brand > Thumbnails
Close
Repeat for all images in category.
Create New Folder for new Brand Category
Open Image
.... Etc etc.
Also, is there a way to select a resizing of an image by it's longest/ shortest edge within an action/ droplet? I know Image Processor has this capability but it seems strange there is no ability within an action.
I have been looking for a smoke effect to blend several separate images for a banner. I tried using clouds but couldn't get it to look right.

The problem is that when I convert the image from RGB to indexed, the quality of the pictures are horrible (dithering didn't work). I tried isolating 1 picture from the other 11 layers, and converting it to indexed had great quality.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the problem is that the color palette is too generic, since the palette has to include all colors needed for all 12 pictures
According to wikipedia, the GIF "allows a separate palette of 256 colors for each frame".
Is it possible to create GIFs with separate color palettes for each frame?

Just downloaded a set of brushes (vegetation). When I click on the icon there are several different brushes on that one icon. How do I get each brush to show seperate and lock it in brushes. Really hard to get the brush you want as it scrolls so fast.

Under CC, the default appears to be to put them in separate tabs and one must select separate windows from the Window Arrange sub menu. How can I restore the CS5 default. I prefer to always open multiple images in separate windows.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on tiny comic-strip frames that are being drawn as seperate images and when it comes to colouring, there is a time-consuming snag where I forget the exact colours of the finished frames which I need to keep checking and seeing earlier single images in order to compare and then reproduce the colours accurately in a consistent sequence.
Believe it or not, I get around this problem by taking digital still camera shots direct off the screen and consulting them afterwards! This does work, but it's hardly practical------is there an easier way to repeat the exact same colors on a separate image, without having to constantly refer to pre-existing images within GIMP? If I can reproduce the exact colours on different images automatically without having to recheck earlier images, this would save me a lot of time!
[Ideally, does every shade of colour have a code number or similar method I can enter and it will come up again accurately? This way, I could write down the shade number and repeat it exactly later on a new image where the exact same colour is required.]
The sheer number of shades of colour and tones make it very difficult to remember the exact colours accurately.
I'm scanning old photos from a photo album. There are a lot of these pages, so taking the pictures out and scanning them would be a huge hassle. The photos are too close on most pages for the scanning software to recognize them as separate images and save them as such.
I'd like to save them as individual pictures, both because that's neater and because some require color corrections.
I'd be able to open up the scanned image, select or outline the picture, and have some script save that selection as an individual file. Super ideally the name would be automatically generated, typing in "1" "2" "3" etc gets old, and I obviously don't want to overwrite. And if I could get automatic color correction before saving or in a batch, that would also be great.
