I am trying to create a distressed, rubber stamp effect in Photoshop and am having some difficulty with the orientation of some of the text inside a text wrap. The text on top appears just how I want it, but when I try to place text on the bottom, it appears upside-down. I've tried using text-warp as well, but it obviously distorts the text and I don't want that. Is there an easy way to have the text on the bottom of text-wrapped circle orient rightside-up?

anyone know a good place to go for a rubber stamp tutorial or have any experience creating one themselves? im looking for something in the vein of 'conspiracy' or 'confidential' like the red rubber stamp you see on paper work that gets 'denied' or a paper that 'failed' in the movies. something you might see on a manila folder that says 'confidential' or 'conpsiracy'.

What is the best way to create an "inked rubber stamp" look?
I realized that you turn it into a bitmapped tif and colorize it in a layout program. I am mainly interested in ways to "weather" or "stress" bitmapped logos, etc. Is there a filter or is it done by manually?

I'm new to Photoshop and have been trying a few things to get better acquainted with it, one of those things is drawing and using a rubber stamp. With this aim in mind, I followed this tutorial: at the start when I click on New I chose 800 x 600 then chose a 'transparent' background, everything goes as it should through the tutorial right upto the end at the point I apply the 'spatter' effect it unfortunately doesn't have the same effect as it did with the non-transparent background. Also how do I actually 'use' or 'apply' the image to another image or letter?

I have been using Photoshop ver 5.0 for a couple of years, off and on, and never had a problem with the Rubber stamp tool until recently. It always worked. I just selected it, then the pen size, then held the alt key down to select some color pixels, then clicked where I wanted to paint.
It doesn't work anymore. As soon as I hold the alt key down and try to select a pixel, up pops a dialogue box saying, "Must define a pattern" ??? I have searched through the help index, tried various things, but cannot find the solution.

Running 5.5 I double clicked on the rubber stamp tool & cleared the aligned box in the rubber stamp options palette. Then I alt clicked in the image. Then I clicked & dragged in another part of the image. The cross cursor at the source point moved as if the aligned box was still checked. How do I get the rubber stamp to work in the non-aligned mode?

I've got a problem using the rubber stamp tool. I want to use it to clone some dust spots out on several photos which are part of a time-lapse scene. Therefore I thought it would be easy to record using the rubber stamp tool, then applying the action to all photos via a batch process.
However, it doesn't seem to work. All my other steps in the action occur, but not the rubber stamp tool. Same is true for the healing brush.

I have installed CS4 on my desktop and my laptop. On the desktop version, the Clone tool looks and behaves exactly as it should and I have no problem with it.
However, on my laptop, the tool looks like a rubber stamp (the same icon as is in the palette) and does not work properly. Changing the brush size does no good because it's not a brush, just a rubber stamp (yes, I have chosen Clone, not Pattern).
the only thing I can think of is lack of horsepower in the laptop (for instance, only 512Mb of RAM)

I'm using GIMP 2.8.2
I'd like to take a rectangular image (a photo) and stretch/distort it along a curved path. I've tried searching for how to do this but all I'm finding is how to curve text along a path, which, while also useful, is not what I'm trying to do.
Is there a way to do this? I'm a novice with GIMP.

I want to do something similar to what is in the attached file, where the numeral 4 has been obtained using filled circles, with the size of circles increasing as the closeness to the numeral, and the biggest circles within the numeral.
I want to create a big shape (say a hexagon) using some text (say 1's) repetitively. i want this done in such a way that the 1's within the hexagon are the boldest, and those outside have varying thickness, with the farthest 1's being the thinnest.

I use the path tool to create the shape of the text line I want to curve. I enter the text I want with the font, colour, etc, and select text along path. The text goes where I want it, but no matter what I have tried, the text colour along the path (my curved text) is always red and it doesnot look like the font in my text area. I can change the font / colour of the original text which works great, but the text along the path doesn't seem to change.

How to make something like this logo: [URL]... (also attached below in case link d/n work)
I tried using the line selection tool to create a stroke path in the shape of the design I wanted, but I can't get it to emulate this brush (it always just fades to opaque instead of tapering to a point).

This should be easy -
The end result I want is this:
a png which is mostly black (or any colour) but with a defined shape in it which is transparent.
I have the shape. I select it. I seem to be able to make a mask from this (a selection which I can copy and move about). But what I can't figure out how is how to create a new image which is filled except for this masked area which is transparent

How to change the shape of an image to fit a specific shape.
What I'm trying to do is reshape a geometrically patterned rectangular image so that the printed image fits around a truncated cone. I'm trying to use the image to create a stencil for glazing a straight sided pottery cup. I know the circumference of the rim and the circumference of the base of the truncated cone so I need to wind up with the borders of the image having a convex curve at the top with the arc length equal to the rim's circumference, a concave curve at the bottom with the arc length equal to the circumference of the base, and with the end points of both arcs connected with diagonal lines equal to the length of the sides of the cup. In addition, I'd like to preserve the image in it's entirety, but distort it as necessary to fit the borders without cutting any of it out. (I attached a sketch in case my pattern shape description was confusing).

He wants me to take an image (Its just a square image) and have it start in the center of the screen, and as it scales down and moves to one of the bottom corners (I've already got that part done) the image multiplies and creates a seamless circular/oval band in 3D space. He also wants this done with another image, but for this other image (also simply a square) to create a sphere as it multiplies.
Is there an easier way to do this, or am I going to have to place, manipulate and animate each individual copy of the square image to create a solid band?
