Feb 24, 2013I'm trying to create images of pairs of cards from png images of a deck of playing cards, basically I would like to combine two cards into a single image, i.e. have the A clubs with the King clubs for AcKc (attached), I would like to do this for all starting hands if you're familiar with poker (AA,KK..72 etc)
Lastly, I would like to change the color of the diamonds and clubs suits from red to blue and black to green respectively, without affecting the black border.

GIMP :: Pasting Fonts And Combining Images
Jul 8, 2012I want to know how to insert a customized/colorful font like the one seen in the attached picture (Darknet). How do I do this with a generic stock image using GIMP? I want to create titles for my books using fonts that are relevant to the book title.
Lets say I want to use a woman's face/body from one stock photo image and transplant it into another stock image (just the face/body even though there are other elements in the background.
Is this possible with Gimp? What I want to do is combine the two. For instance, a picture of a galaxy of stars and then paste the image of the woman onto it.

GIMP :: Combining Slices Of Multiple Rectangles
Sep 27, 2012Using guides, I can create slices of multiple rectangles intersecting each other. For a web, I may have one picture on the top and multiple items below. If I use guides, the top picture gets cut into multiple pieces. Is there a way to merge them back into one piece? I probably can create a new guide on with only the top, but it's an extra step and the HTMLs from 2 attempts are not compatible with each other.

How would I be able to accomplish this while also getting the perspectives to match up? I can get the hand looking ok, but then the rest of the image is funky because nothing else matches.

Apr 17, 2013I am hoping to link text items between pages and items in the drawing such as elevations?
So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?
GIMP :: Half Of Menu Items Greyed Out (not Indexed Mode Error)
Nov 25, 2013i just started using gimp on ubuntu 13.10 . almost half of the menu items are greyed out. most of the filters work or ar not greyed out, g'mic is greyed out and so is most of the stuff in the file menu (export, save, save as, etc.) . i already tried re-installing gimp from the software center with no prevail. this is how it was the first time i installed it on this new ubuntu 13.10 .
is there something that i can do to maybe refresh the entire gimp folder maybe? maybe delete it then re-install gimp. i really dont know if this would fix anything though.
this is really irritating. and no its not the "image RGB/indexed mode" problem.
im pretty sure i dont have anything installed (like some weird ubuntu restricted access fake file) that could interfere with the interface at all as this is a pretty fresh installation. the most i have installed that might even be close to interfering with the interface is "pipelight" which is for flash and silverlight, not gimp.
i even tried different color profiles and none of them work. i even downloaded the brand new color profiles from adobe. none of those work either.
the only way i got ALL of the menu options back, including g'mic, was opening gimp through raw therapee (basically adobe lightroom for ubuntu) which might be of some use in finding an answer to this?
i already have everything i need installed including the ubuntu restricted access extras and such.i just would like gimp to open normally with all the normal file menu options enabled like everyone elses and not be all greyed out ..

Aug 5, 2013I am making the hands of a clock with tick marks held in a particular spot with an invisible bounding box. When I export as a png the bounding box disappears and all I have is the tick mark. Maybe a boundindg box isn't the correct description? I have made the hand using the rectangle shape with no fill and no line. The tick mark is contained within this space. But somehow when it is exported using png the invisible containment disappears. I need that to hold my tick mark in place as the hand goes around the clock.

Jun 17, 2013I am trying to rig a HumanIK character so that both of his hands will stay attached to an object (gun, sword, bat, golf club, etc.). I can get the object parented to one of the hands and it follows along as expected, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the other hand to automatically stay attached to the object or follow it.
I've tried parent, point, orientation, etc., constraints using locators, the IK effector itself (wrist) and a few other things. It seems the HumanIK programming keeps a firm hold on the effectors and won't let anything other than the software drive them.
My HumanIK rig is properly setup and its definition locked. Using Maya 2013.

Nov 18, 2013I have a list of motion capture, those mocap didn't track the fingers so the hands are always opened. In some of these mocap I need the biped hand to be closed. I've been looking for a solution for about a day now. I think I'm in the good way which is to create a biped layer animation where the hands are closed and link the hands of that layer to the original layer. so I would be able to save that layer and apply it to every mocap animation that need to be readjusted. The only problem is that I'm not sure if it's the better way and I don't know the procedure.

Aug 14, 2012I have a shape, it has no fill, so it's just an outline, let's say it's an outline of a leg.
Now what I want to do is draw another outline inside that leg outline, but I don't want 2 end up with 2 separate shapes (2 layers), I want to draw the 2nd outline directly into the first one, so it's all one big vector shape.
For some reason this seems impossible to do in Photoshop CS6. If I select combine shapes, from the menu, free form pen tool and then draw the 2nd outline into the 1st outline, when I stop drawing I don't end up with one outline combined (on top of) the first, instead it just seems to do some weird clipping and I end up with the first outline shrinking, and the outline I just drew appearing not as an outline but as a path.
This is something that works perfectly in Flash pro, you draw a shape, you draw another one on top and you then have both perfectly combined, no fuss no bother. You can even vary the stroke strength at any point along the line in Flash, I'm not sure this is even possible in Photoshop.
