AutoCAD Map 3D :: Combining Layers

Mar 10, 2010

What is the most expedian way to save layer to use in another drawing file? I have a dozen jp2 files set up by data connect for my preliminary investigations, and now I have broken down some design sheets. I would like to be able to reference the aerial images and would like to avoid individually loading again nad again. is exporting to drawing the simplest way? Saving layers seems to be on a image by image basis - can they be grouped to 1 layer?

Illustrator :: Combining Layers To A Single Layer?

Mar 11, 2014

I have just been updated to CC at work and I am having all sorts of issues. But the two main pressing ones are:

1. When I save, it keeps "not responding". Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, I lose everything. It takes anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes to save. I thought it was an issue with a large file, but it does it to me in a one page file with only one photo in it as well.

2. Layers. This is the killer right here. Again, I thought this was a capatability issue when using old files, but it has proved me wrong. As I create layers and new artwork, it works fine. However, once I save and re-open the file, all the artwork has been combined to a single layer and then I have to dig it all out to do anything to it, only to have it do the same thing the next time I repoen the file.

Is it me? Is it default settings somewhere in CC? I have major deadlines that I think I am going to miss if things keep continueing the way they are.

System Specs:
Illustrator CC 16.0.3  (Tried to update to 17 and it said everything was up to date, twice)
Windows 7
Dell Optiplex 7010 with Core i7 and brand new AMD video card.

Photoshop :: Combining Several Adjustment Layers Into Easily Accessible Preset?

Mar 28, 2012

I've been trying to combine multiple Adjustment Layers (For example Curves, Black & White, Exposure and Color Fill) into one final preset that I can easily access later. I've been having problems finding that out, not a single input in google was able to clear up my problem. I know how to save a preset for e.g. Curves only or Levels only. But using several layers of adjustments?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Combining Parts Into One?

I have made one part out of 4 different sections. And now I'm trying to combine it into one solid. My thought process was: if I make a derived part out of them it'll automatically make it a solid part. But I'm still having separate surfaces where two should have been united.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Combining 2D And 3D Sketches

What instances is it necessary to combine 3d sketches with 2d sketches, I have used this combination a few times where I have to build rectangular frames then apply frame generator to the sketches to construct the frame members. I was told when I originally had training on Inventor 2013 that 3d sketches should be avoided where possible.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Combining 2 Cut Area Surfaces

Mar 19, 2013

I have an oddly shapped "cut" area with various elevations that I want to create as a surface so that I can compare the volume with existing survey data. I've been able to get the basic "cut" template in 2 seperate surfaces, but now I want to combine them into 1 surface. When I paste one surface into another, the surfaces go haywire. I have attached a plan and cross section view of what the 2 surfaces (cuts) look like in relation to each other. how I could combine them into one surface and "trim" off the inside grading that overlaps..?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Block Properties Combining Options?

Sep 12, 2012

I had made a block for a series of unit heaters in 2011 and everything worked great.  It had a block properties table that allowed a selection like this:

Input (Electric, Hydronic, Gas) --> Make (Ouellet, Reznor, etc) --> Size (150MBH, 250MBH, etc) --> Flue (UTR, Straight through wall)

In 2013 however, it combines the the flue options so it now if I select Gas, I get:

Reznor

Lennox

Reznor

Lennox

The first two being flue up and the second two being flue straight.  The other options work fine because they don't have the flue option.

Why is this happening in 2013?  I even made a test block in 2013 that follows the same format and it did the same.  Is there a limitation to the number of flyouts in 2013?

AutoCAD .NET :: Combining Multiple Drawings Into Single Drawing

Jan 3, 2013

I'm fairly new to the AutoCAD API for .NET, and for the last month or so I've been googling about, looking for comprehensive documentation on the Autodesk API (their equivalent of man pages). I've yet to find anything that describes each method and class in the API.

My goal is this: I'm trying to figure out how to copy the contents of all drawings in the same directory into a single dwg file. What subsets of the AutoCAD API should I use to do so?

AutoCAD 2013 :: Combining Common Sub Assemblies In Reports?

Nov 27, 2013

I was wondering how to combine common subassemblies so you don't have to seperately count them.

I realize the long way around this is avoiding subassemblies in general and linking a circuit drawing with a predefined additional MAN, CAT in the drawing of the subassemblie(s).  This also allows me to annotate the subassembly Footprints.  I havent seen an easy way of auto inserting subassemblies and linking common subitems to make a unique item number.  The above is all I get when linking subassemblies through the databases (which also doesn't allow you to annotate/ insert the subassembly footprints).  I must be missing a way to auto insert the subassembly Footprints . . . creating unique drawings with the subassembly Footprints is time consuming.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Combining New Survey Points Into An Existing Surface

Aug 28, 2013

Every week I recieve new survey data (typically around 20 points) to insert onto an existing surface of our local landfill.

The surface is displayed as minor and major contours.  The new survey data typically always has higher elevations then the exist surface and shot roughly 2 meters apart.

Here's my issue...when the survey data is inserted and the surface is rebuilt, the contours seem to turn into little cones at each new point.  see attached...

how to eliminate these 'cones' so the surface contours seem more relistic?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Combining Multiple Surfaces To Create Final Surface

Nov 28, 2012

I am creating my Final Grading surface with from 2 surfaces - a proposed road surface and a proposed grading surface.  (Note of roads within the road surface)

The issue is that when I paste the proposed road surface (that consists of several looped sections) over the proposed grading surface, the proposed grading surface within the looped road areas dissappears.

I have tried several options using boundaries for the inner looped areas on my road surface, and has altered my order of opterations for my final surface edits, and many other things also.

I have attached an image for reference.

AutoCAD Visual LISP / AutoLISP :: Combining Random Points Into Lines / Vectors

Jun 7, 2012

I'm working on a program that requires me to analyze a series of 3D coordinates (which describe the start and end points of individual lines) and combine those points that are collinear (there are lots of smaller line segments, some of which are co-linear and overlapping in space) into one single line.

how to analyze these points to find out which ones can be combined. For example, I might have 6 lines, 3 are separate and have their own specific orientation, but 3 are overlapping and in the same direction (look as a single line on the screen). I'd like to modify my point list so that it describes 4 lines... (the 3 individual ones and one which combines the 3 overlapping lines).

Photoshop :: Combining 2 Shapes In CS6

Aug 14, 2012

I have a shape, it has no fill, so it's just an outline, let's say it's an outline of a leg.

Now what I want to do is draw another outline inside that leg outline, but I don't want 2 end up with 2 separate shapes (2 layers), I want to draw the 2nd outline directly into the first one, so it's all one big vector shape.

For some reason this seems impossible to do in Photoshop CS6. If I select combine shapes, from the menu, free form pen tool and then draw the 2nd outline into the 1st outline, when I stop drawing I don't end up with one outline combined (on top of) the first, instead it just seems to do some weird clipping and I end up with the first outline shrinking, and the outline I just drew appearing not as an outline but as a path.

This is something that works perfectly in Flash pro, you draw a shape, you draw another one on top and you then have both perfectly combined, no fuss no bother. You can even vary the stroke strength at any point along the line in Flash, I'm not sure this is even possible in Photoshop.

what's going wrong in photoshop or how to do that in photoshop?
