I have 250 layers and want to change the ms setting on all of them. The only way I can find to do this is to go into each layer property and manually change the number. There must be an easier way. I can't find anyway to globally change all of them. Is there a plug in or some way of doing this that I can't find?
Is there a way in AutoCAD 2013 to have it automatically change to a certain layer when you do common tasks. I am wondering if there is a system variable, or a routine that I could automatically load when I start AutoCAD to do this. It would also be nice that the layer would then go back to the original layer that was being used prior to the command. What are my options for doing this.
For instance when I load an xref I would like it to go on the layer; A-XREF. When I insert a block I would like it to go on the layer; 0, when I create a new dimension I would like it to go on the A-DIMS layer, when I create a hatch it would set to the layer A-WALL-PATT, when I add a leader with text it would go to A-ANNO-NOTE, etc..
when I select>>copy from one image and then Paste As Layer into a new image, parts of the copied selection change color. It's usually not a vast difference in color, but a definite change.
In the screen shot you'll see that I copied the "Learn More" link from the top image and pasted it as a layer into the 3 following background images. In the first two it pasted exact (a brownish color), in the 3rd it pasted as a drab green color. Why?The 3 images being pasted to are all Indexed images with the same channels and same opacity.
The next example screen shot may identify my issue...but this one REALLY Does my head in I selected the bear by color, copied, and pasted as a layer into each one of the background images shown in the first example/screen shot.Notice in the first, how the bear is pasted as the off brown color of the Learn More link. The Second is pasted as the drab green color i'm trying to fix in the first example. And the Third is pasted as the Black color I want, but its on the same image as the drab green Learn More link I can't seem to fix...
I have used Gimp for years and today I simply cannot move layers. In the layers dialog I usually drag the layers into the desired order but for no reason the layers simply float back to their original position. I have tried;
- Clean install of gimp - Opening various gimp files (xcf) - Creating new xcf files The layers are not; - Locked - Floating
I have attached a video of the problem, which can also be viewed at;
I am trying to set up auto importing by tethered shooting with a Canon 1Ds (but don't think brand and camera matter.)
I never use DNG, and am not aware of, and after a lot of searching, cannot find anywhere in the LR4.3 preferences at which I specified DNG conversion. In the Auto0Import dialog there is a File-handling tab that offers one choice: how to spell the dng suffix. The files I want to import will come in as CR2., and testing this with other folder destinations and with Canon's EOS Utility prove that the camera is "sending" CR2 files.
I am creating a layered marine chart with reference points. I've imported the chart and am creating text layers with a reference number in them.
I have about 700 of these to add - a daunting task - but it's for a NZ coastguard unit, so is worthwhile.
The idea is to have a layer with all our reference points on it, so when a chart is updated, we can just import the chart; add back the reference points layers and print it out.
(Why? NZ baynames, danger spots etc usually have 2 names; an english name and a maori name - sometimes we have to cross reference when on the water to find the correct place).
Is creating text layers the best way of doing this?
Is there any way of increasing the size of all the text - instead of having to edit 700 text layers?
Every time I open Coreldraw the EDIT ACROSS LAYERS box is ticked, even if I open a document which had it unticked last time it was saved. I nearly always work with it off but I cannot find a way to set it off by default.
I have a dialog box that has 2 list boxes. One box has the available layers in it, while the other will contain the selected layers. I want to use those selected layers as a list of layers that will be visible in a particular view port. I have searched all over to find information on what kind of list I would need and how could I use the list with a view port, but all I've found is info for one layer becoming visible.
I'm also looking into "FreezeLayersInViewport" but info sure seems limited.
I am just starting to learn C# and .NET and I am trying to write a simple program to gather all the layers from a drawing in a directory, save them to a list, and use that list to change those layers to the appropriate layers. The way I want it to iterate is open the first drawing, gather the layers, ask the user which layer they want to change the original layer to, and when they select the new layer, it associates that old layer with the new layer so that in the future it won't prompt the user, it will just change it to that layer. Then it changes the layers and goes to the next drawing.
I wrote something very simple in LISP, but I need to make it more advanced and try to add in more features. Specifically I would like to be able to do everything in the background, without actually opening the drawings so I can avoid any user prompts or dialogue boxes.
I am at a complete loss at where to start though. There are so many members in the different namespaces for Autocad. Right now I am looking through acdbmgd.dll and acmgd.dll to try and find something useful, but I have no idea where to even start.
My guess would be to first define a method that gathers the layers from the drawing and saves them to an array. For example i would have multiple arrays for the different layers to which I want to convert the old layers, string [] 0layer, string [] walllayer that contains all of the layers to be changed to layer 0 and wall layer. Then I would compare the layers in the drawing to those arrays, if they are not present in any of the arrays, the program would prompt the user and ask which layers they want to change the existing layer to and add it to the appropriate drawing. Then all of the layers in those arrays would be changed to the different new layers.
At the very least, I am going to start making the different arrays to be filled. That much I can do. I'm just having trouble actually getting the data from the drawings.
when i select diffrent layers, the layer's name in toolbar does not change, i can not change the layer, color, and other settings.my autocad version is 2006 and 2007.
Why does my color setting change on images set and saved in Photoshop 5 (MAC). When I use Camera raw to vignette my images and then save them and re-open them the color setting change and flatten out the color or is it just a isolated quark of my own?
If I open them directly from Mac OS X 10.7.4 and vingnette in photoshop not through Camera raw
I can only upload 15 minute videos on Video studio x5. I cant find anywhere on the internet on how to change my login settings so I can upload past the 15 mark. I am verified from youtube to upload longer videos. Im getting sick of waisting my time saving it as a WMV and then going to youtube to upload it that way. My upload speed is slow enough already
So, How do you change youtube settings on Corel Videostudio Pro x5?
Picture wise,How can I not get this error when uploading to youtube?
In each program I have used from Corel Photo-Paint 11, Paint Shop Pro 5 and 7, to Gimp 2.6.11 the end result is exactly the same.
I select the background Invert the selection to pull it out of the original Paste the remaining image with transparent background or make an alpha channel The background needing to be transparent stays transparent.
The moment I save the image as a PNG, close the image, reopen it, check if the Mask/ Alpha channel data remains in tact, and it does, the transparency is completely removed and the background turns to white. This happens on every one of the programs and I am just at my wits end.
There must be something, an order of operations, a color scheme, a presetup step that -everyone- knows but me, that is preventing this from having a transparent background.
I want to change my mouse setting as when I am scroll my mouse it zoom in/ zoom out happens but right now scroll is working in inverse direction like when I am scroll foreword it will zoom in and vice versa.
I am a PC user and have just bought myself a new Macbook pro. I am stucked with the first hurdle, the moment I launched the AI program the middle is empty with only top and side panels. This panel setting is something very odd to me and coming from PC I never had problem changing panel settings. I spent 4 hours including googling this forum and deleted old preferences three times, no luck. How do I toggle between panel viewing options?
Is there a way to change the default setting for raster effects to 300ppi instead of 72ppi? And is there also a way to have "Align New Objects to Pixel Grid" unchecked by default? I do realize I can change all of these settings either when I create a file or after, but I would like to have them be my defaults. I'm running Illustrator CC on Windows 7.
my gimp 2.8.6 makes majority normal layers turn into text layers..
Even if i "discard text information" from layer..and then save it as .xcf it doesnt work! Same layers appear as text layers when i open that .xcf Its not a big deal but it really slows me down when im working with layers..
I merged my layers down to scale to proportion and I thought I was done with the project, so I saved it and exported. I then learned that I did something incorrectly, so I went back to the project only to remember I merged the layers and I don't know how to undo that. How do you revert the layers back to layers?
Surprised I could not turn this up in the Search. Whenever I open a new image to resize it, it does not change size, but sometimes I have seen it larger than this standard size. I need more space for my work, I dont like working with Zoom, or small print. How can I fix setting new image size so the entire background will increase?
How can I set the standard brush in GIMP? If I start GIMP, it chooses a fat brush at first and i have to change it always to a thin brush. How can I tell GIMP, that it uses the thin brush at the beginning?
I use GIMP for a number of purposes, including general image editing, drawing and pixel art.
I'd like to be able to set up profiles for different hotkeys, default windows/window positions/brush settings, etc., but so far as I can find the only way to do this is to either replace/edit the settings files when loading up a different profile or changing its directory settings, neither of which is very convenient, nor am I sure if either is even sufficient.
I have a script (modified version of export-selection) which when run makes the XCF look as if it has been saved. It's caught me a couple of times in that I have opened an XCF, made some edits, exported a selection, then clicked on the X to close GIMP, which it has happily done without complaint or prompt, presumably because the script has done the equivalent of saving the file and Gimp doesn't think anything needs saving again.
So, what's the simplest way in the script of:detecting and remembering in a variable that the XCF has been edited.if it has been edited, setting this "dirty" bit again after the rest of the script has run.1 is not essential, in that it would be OK if running the script always marked the file as needing saving, even if I hadn't edited it.
I am wanted to change some setting for editing blocks in 2013. I want to edit the block in place by just double clicking onto it. I can go through the properties and click on "edit in place" but I would like to eliminate that step.
is there a way to set the default save location in gimp, when i create a new image and save it always starts in ~/Documents directory on the save dialog.
i tried to see if there was a setting i could override in gimprc but i was unable to find this, maybe i am looking in the wrong place.
I've set up GIMP 2.8.4 and it works great on my mac with Mountain lion.
However I need to run a batch script on a group of images and all tutorials for that take for granded that running gimp on a terminal window launches gimp. Well in my case it doesn't! And tbh I haven't found where I should point (the path to) the gimp command so that it would run.
So basicaly running Gimp on a terminal returns error no such command. And I need to know what path to add to my mac's PATH variable so that Gimp doesn't return an error. After that I would like to run the batch script from the terminal for the group of images I have.
