I love single window mode in the new 2.7 series. I currently have my preferences such that the main tool palette is locked to the upper-left side of the single window.
However, I can't move it. How to replicate this on a new install (since by default the tool palette is on the upper-right and can't be moved).
I'm guessing I missed a setting / preference somewhere. How do I move the main tool palette?
I am doing a process which means that I have to repeat filters and it's a slow process to keep opening the filters tab, then the recently used tab, then the filter.
I was wondering if there is a way to load the 'recently used' up onto the main tool bar so that it would be possible to go straight to it.
Specifications: Ubuntu Unity3D
Or maybe drag the 'recently used' to a separate tool bar of it's own?
I am talking about PSE 11. How can I move the tool-palette or the Video window on a second Monitor, as was possible in PSE 10?
In PSE 10 it was possible to use all tools in one palette with one click in the Quick-Mode. Now in PSE 11 we have to open each individual tool before we can use it? After the action this tool closed, so that we have to open it again in the next step. This takes much more time. Is ist possible to switch back to the arrangement of PSE 10?
For some reason, the tool palette I usually use is not accessible. I opened a drawing that a co-worker was using and my tool palette now looks like an old version - it doesn't have any of my custom tools in it. How do I get back my tool palette??

Having the Paintbrush Tool at start-up is inconvenient because if I click on the image it paints where I click. Then I have then got to undo the paint.How can I set GIMP so that the Move Tool is the default mode when it starts?

Also, if I have layers inside a folder and try to move one of those layers, the entire folder is selected and all layers within that folder move.
I have not grouped any layers together.

In ACA 2009 I could, after saving the drawing, click on a wall, window etc and drag it to the tool palette to create a new tool.
In ACA 2011 this only works for lines/polylines. Plus the wall, door and window palettes are gone. How can I retreave them?
I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.
Is it possible to add button in the main tool panel of AI cs6 using javascript?

How can I move many nested keywords back into the main listing of keywords? I was up late a few nights ago and never noticed that about 80 new keywords were being placed as (nested?) under another keyword. How can I get them back from under that keyword and into the main keywrod list?

Because of the global menu,focus on the correct toolbox / area is needed. Furthermore, Unity / Gimpseems to apply the focusing a bit unintelligently. For example, if I moveto another workspace and return to the Gimp workspace, the focus is nolonger on the main window, but rather on the toolbox.
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust got my Wacom draw tablet working with GIMP....but now I have a whole new set of issues GIMP will not respond to either the Wacom pen or mouse then stops responding to my main keyboard and main mouse ., lets me draw a little on one layer and then just stops working. Today when I tried to configure the tablet settings in the tool box it didn't read the tablet at all. And yes the tablet was plugged in. I think I am starting to hate GIMP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery once in a while I print that has two side-by-side images on one piece of paper. My usual routine is to create a new document that is larger than the two images--say, 10x8 (horizontal) with a transparent background and the same resolution as the two images that I'll be placing on the canvas (say, two 4x3's). Then I simply click on the image I want to move and drag it from its layers palette onto the blank background canvas, and move/edit/size as needed.
when I drag an image over to the blank canvas, it assumes the size of the entire canvas. so I just have the image... enlarged. With no background canvas. when I click on the new image (the one dragged to the canvas), all of the editing commands are grayed out. So I cannot resize or move it.I'm on CS5 (mac)
I use PSE9 for digital scrapbooking. Lately, when I have several pictures and elements on the page, I have to click on the Layers Pallette to select an item to move. If I don't click on another item, the item I have just selected will move when I move my mouse. I used to be able to click on an element or picture on the page and move it.

If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. If I press and hold both the Ctrl+Alt keys a see a cursor icon change to an icon that has two up pointing Arrow heads one Black the other White. What tool is that cursor for? I now need to set the palette of a 8-bit png to a specified palette, but I can't find any in gimp or online about how to load a palette. I need the palette to contain colors that may not be in the image if thats possible as these images are sprites of under 40 colors, but I need a full 256 color palette. Also is there any simple way to convert a string of numbers into a gimp palette? If not Ill probably just look at how they are saved and just write a simple script, but I thought i would ask.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI started learning Photoshop CS4 about a month ago. One of the first things I learned was to add text. Simple, fun. I am now trying to learn about layer masks. One of the exercises in one of my books is to open an image and then add text to it. (The idea is to then add a mask and 'hide' portions of the text behind portions of the image.) A really strange thing is happening when I try to add text. I highlight the image in the layers column. (Prior to adding any mask layers.) I then click the text tool. But when I click on the image (in the area where I want the text), the text tool 'becomes' a move tool. A text layer pops up and the words I'm trying to type on the image come out in the title area for the layer (in the layers column). I've tried everything I can think of to 'get' the text on the image but can't solve it.

When I click "Tab" the bar disappears.
When I click "Tab" again the blue bar reappears but no tools under it.
All tools are available in Image Ready.
