Photoshop CS4 CS5 or CS6 is the only program that is unstable with pen pressure sensitivity, all the other programs work flawlessly (zbrush, art rage, sketchbook, painter, mypaint, etc).
In Photoshop if the stroke is fast enough it will draw the line normally and with pressure, but if the line is drawn slowly it will make 100% pressure just like a mouse behaves. Here's an example of brush strokes, the black ones are the slow strokes that don't register pressure sensitivity.

The evident solution for Windows 7 is disabling the "Press and Hold" feature on "Pen and Touch" settings, But in Windows 8 disabling this check only makes Photoshop unresponsive to pressure to the extreme that not even a single stroke can be drawn. My computer is a Motion LE 1700 tablet that works with Wacom Tablet PC Drivers, there's only a single driver released for Windows 8 which is ISD_DualTouch_710-8.
Older Windows 7 drivers for Wacom Tablet PC don't recognize the pen. And default drivers from the Motion Computing website don't work with Photoshop.
An in all, the 8 ISD_DualTouch_710-8 driver works flawlessly with all my apps with the exception of Photoshop, causing the weird intermittent sensitivity behavior.
I installed Revit 2013 in my laptop, but always showed me an error and revit closed. I reinstalled the windows on my lap top and downloaded revit again (Students version) but in the window installer don't appear enable the revit option.

I had onscreen chats with Adobe's Vallen and (maybe) Sumar, who just sent me back to the Support page and forum page. Digging there I eventually found [URL] ....... and followed the instructions, including deleting the caps folder because neither of the database files were in it.
There is a suggestion that I would get somewhere if I was disconnected from the internet. I am wondering also if removal of Photoshop Elements 10 would get rid of a conflict (I have already stripped out most other Adobe programs). I am pretty sure that before loading WIn7 I had been forced to uninstall CS3 for reasons of space, so I don't think ther should be an issue of serial nos.
Now with Windows 7, on a completely new workstation I have exactly the same issue: When I start LR and select the catalog, everything works as usual. But when I double click on the *.lrcat file, or select one in windows the following happens: Lightroom tries to install itself! !!!!
When I click on cancel, an error 1706 appears, "no valid source could be be foundfor product LR 4.1 64bit, the windows installer cannot proceed." To go ahead of an obvious question: the file type lrcat seem to be associated with the 64 bit Lightroom:
Moving to a Windows 2008 Server x64 desktop and notice that when Lightroom is installed it's the 32bit version. On Vista x64 the installer automatically installs Lightroom 64bit. Is there a way to manually select the 64 bit version for install ?

Copy the background layer and change it to soft light adjust opacity to 20% save the image and then try to add a levels layer. After adjusting the levels photoshop quits. Also cropped the image after copying the background layer. This seems to be a new problem. I think there has been an update to photoshop since I last used it. When I integrate a Microsoft Excel form in CorelDRAW and apply changes to it, the form doesn't retain its size and emplacement. The change VERY slightly, but still ALWAYS change.
I am trying to edit lighting styles for models in the edit wondow (not studio). On one only or several assembly models at once I am finding that the Style & Stnd/Lighting Editor has stability issues during editing.
After a number of edits to light settings using the scroll bars to change the lighting location, various buttons start to dissapear or turn black & the dialog fails to function, sometimes locking up Inventor.
Only solution is to close down & restart Inventor. Subsequent attempts to reopen & do it again result in same behavior if not worse.
Working in assemblies with multi-solid parts or parts with derived geometry generates unstable environments with multiple crashes per day. Some crashes don't even prompt a crash report. This has been going on through multiple versions of Inventor up til 2012 which I am currently using now. Has or will this ever be addressed?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to install the Photoshop CS4 trial version on Windows 7 x64. After the two files download I run the exe file and it extracts all the files from the .7z file. Nothing happens after that, and if I goto the extracted files and try to run setup.exe it says that windows cannot find the specified file, and I might not have sufficient permissions. I am running this under my account with administrator privileges though.

When I try to install I get an error message telling me I must have Service Pack 2 installed.
I do have SP2 installed.
I've used several Adobe apps for years with this same OS and I've never had this problem before.

Is the Lightroom 4.1 installer (Windows 64-bit) working? It tells me it's extracting the .msi file and the progress bar gets about 90% of the way full, but then the installer just exits with no error message. I have tried directly launching setup64.exe and running it as an administrator, no good. I have plenty of free disk space - but even if it were a full disk, I'd at least expect to get some kind of error message.
Not sure if it's a bad installer or just something messed up on my system.
I just downloaded the LR4 upgrade and when I double clicked the installion icon in Finder I got an error in Installer application:

I just installed OS 10.6.3 Snow Leopard with no troubles. I am running a CoreDuo iMac with 4 gb RAM and plenty of HD space. I have LR3 on my computer.
I was wondering (I know it sounds counter intuitive) if its possible to get mac fonts to appear in windows gimp. I'm trying to redo images using gimp on a windows computer that come from .psd files created with a mac. The fonts (though Tahoma in both) don't look remotely similar because mac fonts are different from windows fonts apparently. Is there some sort of workaround I can use in gimp to make them look more similar? The mac font looks so much smoother and "full-er".....I wish i could say the same about the windows one. And yes, I am using the same size, color, and font in both images.

As an example I have a PNG file which I right click. The menu appears and I go to properties.
Then click on "opens with" change button. I arrive at the top half of the opens with dialog window.
Here is the bottom half of that same window.
Gimp does not appear in this dialog. So I proceed to browse for the program gimp so that I can include it [ ":\Program Files\GIMP 2\bin\gimp-2.8.exe"].
I select the gimp binary and return to the first open with dialog. Gimp is still not included in the selection dialog.
Perhaps the installation is not registering the software properly?? Previously I had earlier versions of gimp 32 bit installed and it worked properly.

Some of these things we really want installed (Photoshop, CMaps, XMP panels, Type Support and required fonts and color profiles are pretty much the minimal set required for a functional Photoshop installation), but some of these things really have no right to be silently installed. There's a good gigabyte of nonsense that someone who just wants Photoshop has no need for. Denying them the option to deselect these things during installation is a bit evil (whatever happened to the 'advanced' or 'custom' installation option?
unselecting all components indicates that the installation will required 0.0KB on disk. However, selecting Photoshop CS6 x64, which indicates its size is 563MB, results in an installation that requires 677MB on disk. Similar things happen for other components; CMaps is 7.2MB, but when you select it, it suddenly requires 121MB on disk.
I want to control exactly what lands on my disk. So: how do I find out what these secret things are that are not listed after wiping the dependency data so that I can explicitly pick individual components? Which additional steps are required to reveal the hidden dependencies that will apparently still be installed, or aren't factored into the size indication for the various components? how do I make the installer NOT determine that "this is not a genuine installer, you may have a counterfeit product".
I am trying to install a (boxed) version of VideoStudio X5 Ultimate as a fresh install. However, although I select either United Kingdom or PAL/SECAM as the TV standard, it installs with the NTSC settings as default.
I have used the VSX5_cleaner to ensure everything is removed, rebooted and re-run the installer but it seems to install the same every time.
We have two laptops (identical configuration) and it works perfectly on the first one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to fix the windows in place when opening a file that already exists?Example: I go to my image folder, right-click to open a .png in GIMP, and the window opens up like this with the right corners of the image window off the screen. I have to resize every time, just to see the right-most parts of my image when I zoom in.
This is what I want my default settings to look like - perfectly set within the screen, with each corner of the image window visible.I've messed around with the Preferences menu, but so far all I've been able to do is make it so my toolbox pops up in the same place.
I did a complete uninstall of GIMP 2.6. Then a complete install of GIMP 2.8. No errors during installation. When I run GIMP, Windows draws a window frame with the title "GIMP Startup" but the inside of the window remains unpainted (whatever was behind it remains visible). This window frame exists for maybe one second and then closes. I have waited a long time but nothing continues. Task Manager confirms that no application is running. I uninstalled, downloaded again, reinstalled (even just a "compact" installation), but same thing.

Does GIMP 2.8 have any Accessibility or Automation features similar to MSAA or UIA available in the Windows version?
I have tested the GIMP UI and only Win32 Windows are accessible, but nothing within these Windows, i.e. Menus, Toolbox buttons, etc.
If no features exist on the Windows platform, do the features exist in the Linux version?
Goes straight to a black box that says not responding then gets to looking for data files and then windows takes over and searches for a solution before shutting the whole works down. Takes about 30 secs.
I just installed this because 2.6 was doing the same thing.
