View 8 RepliesI got the following task, to do A4 document with 10 mm bleed. It should be exported to PDF
Means: document size: 210 mm x 297 mm
The finished document include bleed should be: 230 x 317 (210 + 2x10 x 297 + 2x10).
I have set bleed limit to 10mm and the same in PDF settings.
The document has right printing area: 210x297 but the bleed is not 10mm but 22,4 mm (it everywhere ads + cca. 12,4 mm)
I am so confused with bleed marks for printers. Here is my example.
I am designing a postcard that is 8.5 x 3.66. I set my page size in the layout section to 8.5 x 3.66. In that layout section it also has a bleed button. I check it and type in .125 in. (what the printer requires.
So it adds a dotted line outside . which i understand. Here is my question. When I save as PDF, only the 8.5x3.66 saves and not the bleed area. I need the printer to see the bleed area. They also want crop marks.
Why the dashed line (view area) changes on a page layout between plotting to pdf and plotting dwg to pdf? I have a title block that measures 16.25 x 10.25 that will print fine to pdf (for 17x 11). This same block will not print completely when using dwg to pdf.
In creating the page layout for pdf (only)the offset is .125 x .125. Once created, if I use this layout and then choose dwg to pdf as my plotter I do not have the ability to "fit to paper"
In creating the page layout for dwg to pdf the offset is .228 x .70. When bringing in the title block at 0,0 there is no way for this block to fit inside the dashed viewing line. The amount that this block extends beyond the top dashed line is way beyond what is available at the bottom.
I'm wondering why, all of a sudden, the pasteboard area around the page is tied directly to the page. Example: If I draw full-scale out in the pasteboard area on page #1, then go to page # 2 or whatever, everything in the pasteboard area disappears. In a multi-page document this is really a problem as I have to click on every page to find out where my full scale drawing is. It wasn't always like this. What ever was out in the pasteboard area was always visible no matter what page I'm on. This is something new and it's very inconvienient. How do I reset so the pasteboard is unaffected by which page I'm on?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am going to be printing some raffle tickets. I need them to be numbered sequentially. I have found out how to do the numbering using the printmerge function.
I am going to be doing 8 up. Seems like the easiest way is to design one ticket, then use the print merge feature, and then use the layout imposition tool. However, I would like to have a light colored watermark behind all the tickets.
To make this simple to understand (hopefully) lets just say I want the word "TICKET" repeated over and over again horizontally and vertically untill it covers the whole page.
Of course if I was going to hand number these I would simply design an 8 up print and then put the TICKET watermark behind it no problem.
I could simply crop the watermark and place it in the single 1 up design, and then use print merge and layout imposition, but then the pattern would be exactly the same on all tickets and I would have to cut them in exactly the right place. Whereas if I did 8 up, I wouldn't have this problem.
I am using a landscape flier template and have just noticed that there is also a portrait layout (dashes) showing which has nothing to do with what I am doing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I select the text tool and click in the layout area, I type "i" and upon clicking off it auto changes to a capital "I". It's never done this before. If I do i space i space i space, it keeps changing, it won't allow me to have lower case letters.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use CS4 and when working in Illustrator ( and later taking into a book in InDesign) how do I maintain custom page size with bleed in Illustrator when saving as PDF . I have been told my files are not print ready and have no bleed even though I set a bleed and accurate (custom)page size initially. It seems I lose these when I save as a PDF for Printers to use.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using InDesign CS5 and Photoshop CS5 and have scanned full color illustrations into Photoshop. I am preparing 7x10 saddle stitch and casebound books with the illustrations which need at a 1/8" bleed area. My problem is the illustrations have key elements right up to the edge of them. I need to add complementary colors to fill in the bleed area around them so I don't lose any of the originals. What is the best way to do this? Also, I need to copy colors from the illustrations and make separate pages of the colors to import into InDesign. What is the best method to do this? The colored pages will be the background with story text on them and reside opposite to the illustrations.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a way to have a bleed on three sides only. I am exporting to a pdf/x for the printers and I do not want the inside edge (book format) to have a bleed. The only way I can see around this is to make the page smaller (the size of the bleed), but I would prefer to simply remove the inside bleed itself.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to setup an 8.5 X11 sheet on landscape to do a brochure but I cannot add any bleed lines on user defined presets.
When I go to layout>page setup>guidelines>presets>user defined presets. It only gives me the options for margins and # of columns and the distance apart.....but no bleed area
The only way I can add bleed to the layout is when I go to layout>page setup>size (bleed .125")>guidelines>presets>corel presets> check three column newsletter and check bleed area. But then I cannot adjust the distance apart during setup.
I have a billboard to design. Anyways, the billboard size is 10'6''x44' and the printer is asking for a 3 inch bleed all around. He is requesting I design it in 1/4 size so I've broken it down into inches and I came up with 31.5''x132''. Anyways how would I achieve the 3 inch bleed all around? Would I design the poster in the measurements I have mentioned or do I actually need to add an additional 3 inches to the layout?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have 2 issues to deal with. I have a poster I've created in 11x17 but I want to make sure that I get a full bleed when I send it over to the print shop, how would I do this?
issue#2: I will need to reduce the size of the 11x17 to a 5.6in width 7in height. How do I do this? The reason for the size reduction is because I need it for newspaper printing so I need to make sure to keep my 11x17.
i have that issue i made one flyer w X4 where exist a bitmap that must be to the edge of cutted paper , so i made it bigger out of page, i close it to PDF for my printer adding a bleed limit, everything else out of page (inside the bleed ofc) appear BUT the bitmap (lens) stop to the edge of page.

Is there any macro or external program with similar functions for the preparation of banner print (Bleed, grommets, marks - see attachment) for CorelDraw?
I quite often need a separate ruler scale on each page of a multi-page document. The only way I know how to do this is to create a separate document for each drawing that requires a new scale.
I request that you add the ability to change the ruler scale on a per page basis within a single multi-page document.
I am using CDR X5 SP1.
Use merge for standard things like labels.Have a large ongoing project which requires
Lots of Excel data - eg: 6685.excel example.tifcolumns x AZrows x 300 upwards
All rows required to create a book of running information.
If I use a label type approach some rows have less data making the layout uneven (unsuitable for the project)
Is there a way to merge with a fluid result ?
Ie row one takes up 2 lines Row 2 takes up 5 lines Row 3 takes up 1 line etc

If it's a bug, then I cannot believe it wasn't caught before the release. So here it is. I simply put artistic text down on page 1. Select the text and copy to clipboard. Add a new page and paste the text. On my computer, the text changes from artistic text (as copied to clipboard) to paragraph default text left justified across the center of the page. It doesn't matter how much text I select, it always pastes on the new page as paragraph text left justified and across the center of the page.
However, if I select artistic text and any other object, copy and paste to a new sheet, it works erectly. Apparently, I now have to select text and an object to insure that the paste feature works properly?
When I make a new Layout a new Page Setup called *Layout1* is created and assigned to the new Layout. Our plotter is assigned as the plot device, and a dashed rectangle showing printable area appears near the borders of the white sheet area represented in the Layout.
If I choose to Modify the layout, and I change the Paper size, the dashed rectangle disappears, and now I don't know how to position and size a title block to ensure that it stays within the printable area. What controls the presence of the dashed print area rectangle?

i often do a very big and complex mix of logos names and so on.
i´d like to know if ther is any hotkey on how to move any object or a group of objects from far on the page to the page border.
In the print module when I click on page setup it is only showing me measurements in mm. This means that when I want to, for instance, create a 10x8 custom page, I can only do it in mm. I have the ruler units set to inches in layout. I've looked to see if I can change it in preferences, but can't find anything.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have just downloaded the 3 year trial of AutoCAD for students. I have managed to create a floor plan but struggling to amend the layout. First of all, I would like the page setup to be A3 but that is not an option on my Page Setup Manager as it will only connect to my printer size.
I am also trying to add a Title Block but again do not know what I am doing, or where to download template ones for free?
I am currently drawing my plans and realised the template: "Tutorial-mArch.dwt" is an A1 Paper Size.
I can only print A4 pages so when I compressed it to a A4, the layout of title box simply goes out of scale.
How do I scale those? If you do not mind me asking more, how do I make my title box (name scale on my own?
