Both of the above are happening on a HP 5550 laser printer, we have 4 classrooms each with a 5550 printer in.
I cannot get the printer to print in landscape since we loaded X5.

I recently upgraded to CorelDRAW X5 from X4. I'm having problems printing a landscape page to an Epson Stylus Pro 7880. This is a paper roll feeder. No matter what combination of settings I try it will only print portrait orientation. I had zero problems with X4. I have read as many of the previous forum posts I could find on this issue, so I'll add - I don't have a PPD file and the manufacturer does not either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using ACAD 2012 3D. I want to color in some letters and symbols, but whenever I do they get muffled away by the material I selected for my object.
Here's a render prt scn: [URL]....
As you can see the black arrow is partially yellow, which I do not want. The problem doesn't only happen after rendering, but in my model space as well. I tried all kind of things to get it all black. Hatch, make a solid out of it, different layer, draworder, apply other materials, but nothing seems to work. What goes for the arrow goes for all the words in gray/white too.
In case you wonder, I've made an effect pedal for guitar.
How can I revert all symbols to object in document?
View 15 Replies View RelatedJust started using the Symbol Manager and have created a library (csl).
How do I rename symbols and add a description?
I cannot see any symbols in CorelDraw 5, When I open the symbols docker no one symbol appear, and if I upgrade the right path to the folder on my extra content on my PC (where the symbols files exists) no symbols appears as well.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have two questions about symbols...
1. I've created 4 symbols and placed 200 instances of them. The symbols were originally created inside the CDR file. (and are still stored in it)I have now exported the symbols to a CSL - how do I re-link the symbols to the CSL file?
2. How do I edit the CSL file so that the symbols are updated in the CDR file(s)?I've opened the CSL file, edited the symbols and saved it.Then I re-open the CDR file expecting the symbols to be updated - but they are not.
in older versions there was a option to use the very useful symbol.ttf's quickly and accurate with a little roll up menu that showed all characters and one could select and drag drop it into the document. I tried in vain to enable that in X5 with the so called symbol manager. I told Draw where the symbol.ttf's are but in the symbol manager I just see the path to it and nothing to use. I'm talking about the stars, arrows, weather etc. files.

I have a bunch of custom made symbols that I use often and for some reason, when using the Symbols Manager docker, they are no longer showing up in the Local Symbols>User Symbols folder in that docker as they used to.
The old hard drive had XP Pro on it but this new one has Windows 7 Pro on it. I am aware of the path changes made in Windows 7 and swear I have the custom symbols located in the correct directory.
I am using X4 version 14.0.0.567
I have them placed in the following directory:
C:UsersAdministratorAppDataRoamingCorelCorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4User Symbols
When I attempt to create a new Symbol, it saves the new symbol file in the directory above and when I go to that directory, I can see all of my custom Symbols. They just are not showing up in Draw X4 for some reason even though they are there.
I have created a pine branch. This branch consists of needles. I would like the needle object to be possible to change in the future, so I made it a symbol.
After making the branch consisting of symbol needles (just a bunch of needles, grouped or not), it is not possible to use envelope on the branch and bend it. It can only be rotated or sized. Is it normal? How to create varieties?
When working in a drawing, I don't see a selection for weld symbols in Annotate - Symbols. Are they not available in LT? Is there something I need to do to activate them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust installed X6. However, even though I installed Symbols and Objects from the content install, symbol manager does not see the symbols library on my hard drive. I guess it expects me to add a library, but where this symbols library is. Am I supposed to install the entire content package (I really don't want to clutter my hard drive with thousands of unwanted images) in order for symbol manager to be able to automatically find where the symbols are?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm using corel draw x4 on windows 8. I use the Math-Type Editor in order to create complex formulas with indices, potencies, greek letters and fraction bars.
Unfortunately Corel Draw can't depict some of the symbols for example the small theta "ϑ" or the multiplication sign. Instead of writing them it creates a blank or question marks.
Is there a way to create those symbols in the Math-Type Editor?
Does the following macro works with symbols of Coreldraw X5? I mean the symbols/clone feature, where you can duplicate same objects and when you change one automatically the others changes as well. But this is not the traditional clone option of corel draw. URL.....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the new trial Corel X6 installed on win 7 64-bit.I have trouble working with transparencies inside a symbol. It also does not work if it is power-clipped inside a symbol. The error message is as follows:
This item cannot be stored inside a Symbol. The item must be removed in order to be able to finish editing this symbol. this same procedure does not work in Corel X5 oddly enough it works in Corel X4.
When i open artistic text in the Edit Text box it appears as paragraph text., full of symbols. Is there a way to turn this off.?

I have looked back through the file and found that the ones that do not appear also no longer show the image in the symbol library but when i insert them in to the drawing they show up fine.
I have bought the hard copy version of corel draw Suit X5 and waiting for it. I originally dwn loaded it from the web and so did my son. We are working on a project together. He found TT-Musical Symbols in his dwn loaded version and I do not have it on my dwn load version. Do you have TT-Musical Symbols in your drop down text? and or when you dwn loaded the trail version, have you got it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a quick and easy way to delete all symbols in the Symbol Manager docker? I know there is a macro that converts symbols to objects but the macro does not affect this part the document that has ANOTHER set of Symbols....know what I mean? Maybe a macro that digs and wipes out all symbols in the docker?
It takes a REALLY long time just to delete them one by one...even multi-selecting did not work.
I am new at creating a recorded macro in Corel X5..I have done the steps to record a macro for changing a text colour within a symbol...i get an error debug message ActiveShape.Shapes(26).PowerClip.EnterEditMode
what i want to do is change a coloured text from black to white that is symbol. i have several different text that are in symbol and it is a pain to enter each one and change a colour.
I frequently require mathematical symbols such as ≤ or ≥, which are easy enough to insert as unicode characters and supported by common fonts such as Arial.
However, when I try to import text containing such characters, such as within an Excel table, they just import as "?" instead. I've tried pasting Excel table in various formats. As an Excel object or a Metafile the overall formatting is retained correctly but the symbols become question marks. Enhanced Metafile preserves the symbols but alters the fonts so that the text no longer fits within the cell, ruining the layout.
I've also noticed that when I manually insert unicode symbols using the text tool in CorelDraw X6 it changes the font to Adobe Fangsong Std R (which looks awful). If I try to change the font after the fact, everything changes except the symbols. Highlighting the symbols also looks different: rounded highlight rectangle versus normal rectangle for ordinary text. It seems CorelDraw refuses to treat these symbols as ordinary unicode text forcing them instead into this horrible wirey font instead.
I also have issues try to export from CorelDraw to say Powerpoint where Corel will automatically format some text as ligatures but when exporting these just show up as "?" in Powerpoint.
1) Is there any way to get CorelDraw X6 to reliably import and export text, including unicode symbols, without messing up the formatting/layout.
2) is there any way to get CorelDraw not to change the font of symbols?
I work in pre-press for a Label Printing company and we do Flexo and Screen printing. I get files from designers, most files have been created in Illustrator.
I use Corel Draw X5 to do my pre-press work and some of the files I get have Lens effect objects. When I apply the "No Lens Effect" the object changes to a Symbol and it has no fill and no outline, how do I convert the Symbol object to a "regular" object?
I want to know the best way to convert these Lens and Symbol objects to regular objects that are "flattened" or do not have transparency. I need to be able to work with these objects like they are a regular vector object that can be edited for pre-press to make files to send to have films output.
OR, will an object that has a Lens effect output normally if I make a Postscript file fro the Lens effect object? Do I even need to convert the Lens effect in order to get the image to output correctly?
Is there a way to apply a color to selected objects without having to search for the color in the color palette. So say if I am working with an image that has multiple colors but want to use only one of the colors in that image, is there a way to apply it without having to create or add it to the palette.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI still use Corel Draw 12 and my question is is there an easy or automatic way to make the outline color of an object the same color as the fill color? I do it the hard way of trial and error until I get the right outline color from the color dock/pallette.
