CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Converting Object To Bitmap - Cannot Change Existing Resolution
May 3, 2012When I try to convert any object to a bitmap, the resolution is highlighted but doesn't workif I want to change the existing resolution. I have to RESELECT the numbers to export to another resolution as if the resoltion WASN'T highlighted.

This isn't something I am in need of because in the future with this graphic I would just convert the background. Just wondering why it made those odd lines coming off of the words and the black bar (I don't know how the heck you guys can post large things, things with motion, etc. I have to make things miniature to put them on here)
I assume it has something to do with how the original, that came from MillerCoors, has those layers of lines in it. I just don't get why lines would then be visible when I changed it since nothing like that has happened before. Oh, and if you are wondering why I converted it, it's because I knew my rip server wouldn't like all that stuff going on in the original

May 13, 2012i have that issue i made one flyer w X4 where exist a bitmap that must be to the edge of cutted paper , so i made it bigger out of page, i close it to PDF for my printer adding a bleed limit, everything else out of page (inside the bleed ofc) appear BUT the bitmap (lens) stop to the edge of page.

Mar 5, 2011Whenever I use the Trace option to convert, the result is an image filled with closed objects. Because I use vector images with a laser machine, and because the laser cuts everything it reads, the "double" lines (shared lines of the objects) get cut as many times as they appear. So I have to go in and break apart and delete segments & this goes on for days. I've tried welding, but welding makes one of the objects disappear completely. I've tried changing from cdr to svg, exporting & importing, hoping it would simplify, but that doesn't work either. Is there a way to have the bitmap converted to simple lines instead of overlapping objects?

But when I go to export it and save it as a png file it puts the white background back in with the saved file. I need the object to have a transparent background so that I can place it overtop other objects and not see the white of the background.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Multiple Outlines When Exporting Traced Bitmap?
Dec 27, 2012After using Powertrace to trace a bitmap, I zoom in to the outline and can only see one line.
However when I export as a DXF, my cam program always says it is removing overlapping outlines. Thing is there are quite a few double outlines left (very close to each other but not exactly parallel). Because these remaining outlines did not cross, my cam program did not remove them.
Because of the remaining double outlines, the cam program basically doubles up on the cut path.
If I trace manually with the bezier tool and shape tool, I don't have this problem. It's only when tracing with Powertrace.

I have a bunch of photos i would like to put into these objects and would like to have them filled/fitted into the objects and clipped by the outer extent. I guess a picture fill of some sort? Aug 24, 2011Is there a way to edit the transparency of a dimensioned object? I have many complex objects and sub-objects with transparency fills and all individual parts dynamically dimensioned. I find I cannot edit the transparency of any part that has a dimension. Surely there must be a way to do this...?
My dimensions are color-matched to the fill parts, and the text dimensions and dimension lines are different sizes and weights making it very time-consuming to delete, edit transparency, and then recreate the dimension with all the desired properties.

Jul 25, 2011I am currently using this method, creating a 1-bit bitmap from a grayscale "distress" texture bitmap, choosing transparent fill or outline depending on which area i need trasparent and powerclip it in text or other vector object.
Is there a way to achieve the same distress effect with transparency with FILL ? pattern fill maybe? eg can i save in some format this bitmap to use it maybe as a pattern in pattern fill and retain transparency ?

Oct 24, 2012A customer brought me some DWG plans, five files' worth. He wants pricing on cutting it out of wood. The cutting part won't take long, but fixing the file will. I could see that there were multiple lines because some lines were thicker.When I select one of the thicker lines and delete it, it's gone. So I knew there wasn't a second line below it. Then I tried Ctrl-K, to break apart the curve. Wow, some of the lines had 23 copies! So I would hold Ctrl, de-select one of the lines, then hit the Delete key to erase the other 22. This will take a lot of time to clean up like this. Do you know of an easier way to remove these excess curves?

After reading your posts here we have tried the following which we find quite annoying for a new program.
Surely this is something simple we have missed. All we have done is installed the X6 and run the program , clicked on a bitmap and nothing ??? This has really left a bad experience especially when we just purchased this program and it cant even edit an image. The customer support was terrible , I had to ring back because the person couldn't hear me about 8 times. It was only a search on the web that led me here.

Mar 8, 2011I got a new MAC OS X 10.6.2 last spring and installed the CorelDraw 11 that I've used for several years on my other MACS. When I try to use a bitmap effect from the drop down menu (like 3D effects, art strokes, creative, contour etc...) the boxes do not open. I've tried reinstalling the application and it didn't work. I was always able to use these effects on my other computers. Every other menu item I use works. I wish Corel would make something new for MACs

Jul 27, 2011I've got Service Pack 3 which is the latest and greatest and am still finding that I cannot export to any bitmap format even in PhotoPaint. I can save as a .cpt file in PhotoPaint. Sometimes I send out .jpeg proofs and doesn't matter whether it is X5 Draw or PhotoPaint, it crashes.
I do not have this problem when I export the same thing from X4 Draw or PhotoPaint.
I am running XP on a virtualized Windows environment via Parallels desktop for Mac. I have plenty of RAM and hard drive space so it may be because I am not running Windows 7?

Nov 26, 2013If I have a bitmap image that has been cropped to an irregular shape (say a star or pear etc) is there any way in CorelDraw to replace the image without having to crop and position the bitmap all over again. I thought It would be as simple as clicking edit bitmap & pasting the new image once in corel photo paint but that does not seem to be the case.
edit: also is it possible to swap the image with a higher resolution version.

Jul 4, 2011I am using Corel Draw X4 to create stuff to cut on a laser engraving system and am having trouble with the bitmap trace function. For example: I create a line of text. First, I convert it to a bitmap. Then I trace the bitmap using the logo option. After doing this, when I move the text on the page, it appears several of the letters (the tall ones like capital letters and so forth) are missing during the moving process, but when I stop moving it, they appear again.
My problem is when I save the file and then open it in my laser program, these missing letters that are present when I move the text in corel draw translate into missing letters in the laser program, so it seems this is a Corel Draw problem but I don't know how to get rid of it.
