CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5 :: Using Scrapbook To View Photos On Shared Folder?
Mar 28, 2012I don't see thumbnails, only icons of JPG photos.
View 7 RepliesI don't see thumbnails, only icons of JPG photos.
View 7 RepliesI've recently installed X4 (running it on Windows 7) and for some reason when I open the scrapbook I can't preview any of the thumbnails - they just appear as a generic symbol (see below). How do I change this so that I can view the thumbnails properly?
I've also changed the settings so that once a bitmap has been inserted, I should be able to double-click to open the bitmap in Photo paint - but this doesn't work either!
in Corel Draw X4, we can use the scrapbook docker to see thumbnail of locals files, but when this files are on a network share or if this network share is mapped to local drive, thumbnails does not show up. But when I use File/Open to this network share or mapped drive, thumbnails are ok.
I also heard that in X5 scrapbook is depreciated, is there an alternative?
There is a little annoying folder automatically created by CorelX5 in my document folder, and I don't want it there. It destroys my file arrangement and I hate this.
Question: How can I change the destination of the folder ...Corel which is automatically created in my document folder?
I just create a few objects in the symbol manager, now I want to send those contents I createt to a friend. But I cannot find my library/symbols folder in the Corel Draw folders.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I want to search in connect, I select the folders I want to include in my search, that is fine. But when I close the progarm and restart it the selection is reset so nothing is selected except the X6 content on disc.
In X5, X6 it would keep the selected folders and they would remain selected and ready to go each time I started connect or CorelDraw. But in X6.1, it seems that each time I close the program it resets everything.
I select the folders I want to use in my search, favorites are locations I want to use in every search. But when I close down for the day and restart CorelDraw the next day and go to connect, this is what I get, all check boxes cleared.
is there a way to get it to keep my selections when I close the program? To me, at least, this is annoying to have to select the folders every time I start the program.

View 14 Replies View RelatedThe management of the importation of externally linked images still has the problem in previous versions.
1) You can't import more than one picture at a time, externally connected simultaneously in the document.
2) If you move the picture within it, in a new folder, there is the possibility of assigning the new path to more 'photos at the same time but only one at a time.
So if I have 100 photos to be updated with the new path I have to do with each photo. While it would be much more logical to assign the same path to more 'selected photos.
I recently have been able to export jpgs into my pictures folder from Coreldraw but now can't. I don't know where they go? I can see my cdr file in the folder but it wont show my jpg file.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI set up for a client of mine a new file server using samba.
Everything is working OK except the browsing/opening of files directly from the network drive, using both X4 amd X5 versions on windows XP and 7.
Can the items in the Contents Folder (e.g. Frames, pictures, etc.) be opened directly into Photoshop CS6 without first being opened in CorelDRAW X6. I have both programs, and it would be great if I had access to those objects whenever I'm using Photoshop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor instance...I want to view all the fonts in wingdings without having to type every key on my keyboard.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI suspect that there is no way to do this, but it seemed so logical....How can I rotate the actual view of a page in DRAW? I have these box designs that I get handed, done somewhere else on the planet, with changes to various panels that are shown as upside down or at 90 degrees to the original page. I have to squint and cough backwards to read them.
Of course, for text, I can do an edit, but usually the text has been converted to curves many revisions ago. I looked, but could find no option for simply rotating the view, which would solve the problem.Surely there is a view "object" that gets filtered through the various existing View options, meaning that a simple set of transforms should also be able to rotate the entire pageview.
I do know how to kludge it, by selecting ALL and then rotating everything around a center point, but it requires than everything be selectable, and I use layers a LOT, for keeping the background frozen, for example. So, to get to a simple view of a small section on some sideways box tab, I have to unlock everything, select everything, rotate, edit, and then rotate back again and relock all the locked layers. It would make life simpler to have rotation as an option in View. Unless there's a better way???(And, no, the monitor is even harder to twist around.)
When I open a new file, my default is an 8.5" x 11" page. When I resize it for an order, the view is staying at the 100% view, yet the same operation in version 11 gives me a view as if I had entered the standard CTRL + F4.
View 5 Replies View RelatedOne of the very early versions of Corel Photopaint? allowed me to transform a face from one person to another, in that it created a whole bunch of intermediate pictures and when completed it played that shifting in a motion form, from one face to the other. Is this facility to transform still available in X6?

As you know there are 3 CD discs full of fonts and CDR files . . . . how do I view them . . . how do I search them??In the "good ol' daze" Coral gave us a thing called a BOOK that showed all the fonts and CDR images on the disc, but alas . . . no more books . . . all those hundreds CDR files would be very useful . . . if I knew what they were (same with all the fonts).
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen I open any of my cdr files, the view manager opens over 400 views. It takes quite a while to open any file. If I take the time to delete all of the views after opening the file, (it seems that they have to be deleted 1 by 1) and I resave the file, the views stay deleted. The ironic thing is that I have never even used the view manager, or saved any views.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any want to retain the clipping paths from certain stock photos (or any images which include paths) within either CorelDraw or Photo-Paint? Sure I can create my own or use the cutout tool, but sometimes it's nice to simply use what's already there.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add perspective to photos (JPEG files) imported into CorelDraw.
I want to change a photo so that, rather than facing 'head on', it looks as though it is facing away at an angle.
I can skew basic shapes to give the impression these have perspective but I can not do this with JPEG files. How to acheive this in CorelDraw or CorelPhoto.
When I try to import from My Documents, the drop down file format on the right no longer has "ALL FILES" as an option. Therefore, I am unable to import photos, logos, etc.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from X4 to X5 and while when I first installed it I was able to click on a bitmap and get CorelPhotoPaint to launch - it now says Failure to launch server application. I have tried the F8 tip while opening both Paint & Draw, repairing the installation (from both the hard drive and the disk), and removing and reinstalling. I used to have X4 and even X3 on my system but have removed both of those versions. And yes, I have associated the files although within Corel the ticked boxes do not seem to stay put.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to recreate some vintage packaging artwork in CorelDraw. I've imported my reference material to a bottom layer and am recreating the text and graphics on layers above it. The reference photos I have been supplied with have a number of problems and most I have been able to fix in PhotoPaint. (Horizontal and vertical shear distortion). However, the 'fish-eye' distortion created by the camera lens is proving difficult to surmount. I have tried using the Mesh Warp tool but the ridiculously small workspace window it generates makes it impossible to render accurate changes to the image. Is there a way to coax PhotoPaint to create a larger working space to increase its accuracy.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to bulk edit photos by pixel size? I'm going through an eBay nightmare where the minimum pixel size on the longest side will need to be 500. I have thousands of images. First: will corel 12 sort images by pixel dimensions? or is there a program somewhere that will? Second: can I then take the smaller images and bulk resample them to 500 pixels on the longest side?
