I don't know if I did something wrong, I click Artistic Media brush and click on the page and I get the message again and again.
The Eraser tool requires that you select an object.
CorelDraw X5 v. 15.2.0.686 Hot Fix 4 - Windows 7-64
When I am using the eraser tool in correldraw x5, I get a crash from time to time.
This crash causes my correldraw to completely shutdown with a message that an unexpected error has occured and that the program had to be closed.
Working with important information, this is a big issue for me.
is there a way to erase (like with eraser tool) the artistic media brush strokes ?
eraser tool works on every draw/shape/stroke but the artistic media tools. is there a workaround?
I know about all of the normal selection methods in CorelDraw, but is there a Macro or some way to do an irregular marquee selection?

not being able to change colors of an object while using the Interactive Fill Tool? That is, change an existing color or add/delect a color to the gradient. I have to delect and reselect the object to change colors. I have to do this each and every time want to make a color change. Without this functionality I am not sure what the point of the tool is.
View 14 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice to have vba scale the thickness of the the eraser tool based on the current zoom setting. What i'm after is every time i click on the eraser tool, it will autosize to 2% of the current window size. So if im zoomed in really far and the current window has a wdith of 1 inch, the diamter of the eraser would change to 0.02 of af inch. Where as if I was zoomed out far and the current window had a width of 24 inches, the eraser thickness would default to 0.5 inches or something like that. The idea would be for the diameter of the erser to always be the same thicknes % of window size no matter what zoom level im at.
I can figure out how to get the current zoom level, and I know how to make this script run by altering the customization and setting this script's hot key to X. but im not sure if there is a function to change the thickness of the eraser. it doesnt seem to record when I attempt to record a macro.
I want to know if is there any soft eraser, like brushes, with gradient around the center point of eraser, like in Photoshop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to exclude single attributes from being defined in a object style? As example: i want to define an outline that does not change width of the objects, but everything else.
There is a small tick box right of every attribute with help text "None this object attribute is not defined by a custom style" but i can not mark it. My feeling is, that i need to switch on this tick box to get the result i need, but i can not. When i click on it, it just gives me a greyed out "Revert". When i try to make child styles, there is a way to break the connection to parent style with these tick boxes, but no luck.
Is it a bug? I tried it with X6, X6.1 and X6.2
In Corel Draw x6 recently I am facing a problem. After writing few sentence when I wan to change the font style... and click on the font then the system hangs for a minute or responding very slowly. If I scroll the mouse to go downwards or upwards fonts... even then the system works very slowly. Why its happening? Any problem due to the number of fonts loaded? About 600 fonts loaded in my machine.

I find it very off-putting to my drawing. In Illustrator and Inkscape it is possible to draw freely without constant selection marks appearing after every stroke of the pen.
I have a question about selections in PP.
Why when I make a path for example and make a selection from it every time the selection is 1 pixel wider then the path. I'm used to it with Photoshop and it's very precise even you use the lasso tool and paths. But here I can't understand the logic in that 1 pixel more. Every time I make a selection I have to reduce the size of the selection with 1 pixel and that is very uncomfortable.
Is there a way to remove or make more transperent the grey highlight selection on text? When I adjust kerning to text in order to match spacing, the cursor highlight for the text covers up any image or artwork allowing you to only see the text selected. This also appears this way in wireframe?

See the examples below. I have a table with 24 different colors. When I determine to create a custom palette with 24 shades of this table, all colors are added to my custom palette (pic. 1).
Now, assuming I double them to 48 tones, which the criterion adopted by CorelDRAW to create the midtones? Note that Green color, in the second row (pic.2), has not an intermediary tone, while for White (last color) were created three options.
I have several customers that I do only laser engraving work for, is there a way to somehow open their files and have the printer default to the laser instead of my printer? I have tried everything I could find in settings and defaults, but they seem to be program centric instead of file centric.

This was really quick. I simply cursored down through the list. X5 is very slow in changing from one font to the next. I'm having to match and select fonts in X3 and then paste them into X5 and continue my artwork.

Lets say I have a page fill of objects/shapes/text with all sorts of different colors.
I select the black color (or whatever color) but would actually like to select ALL colors other than the black color that I have selected.
So, if I have a page with Black, Red, Green & Blue shapes, I select an object colored black, the macro would then select ALL objects/text on the page that are NOT black.
Recently I've been having problems with X5 and Xerox Print drivers. After the installation the Color Option in the print properties get's grayout and I can't make any selection. If the customer has the print driver in default for Black and White for him to change to Color I had to install a second print driver. This only happens with Corel X5 and Windows 7.

Therefore I have to find the desired bjects to be selected in object manager lying in haphazard order. Is there a way , the objects don’t get dragged while making a selection window from left to right. That means, the objects get selected which are present in the selection window only.

I have just upgraded from X4 to X6 and found that when using the paint tool, the cursor disappears at the end of the action, and appears again when the cursor is moved again.This happens when the user interface setting is set to 'Shape cursor for brush tools".
More of a concern for me is when the Eyedropper tool is set to 'Select sample', (the one I always use), no rubber rectangle is drawn to show the area that is being sampled.That is, it is supposed to draw a dynamic rectangle in a similar way that the rectangular mask tool selects an area with a rectangle changing size with movement of the cursor.The eyedropper samples the correct pixels, but does not draw the enclosing rectangle.I have tried running it in all comparability modes except for 256 color and 640 x 480 resolution, which aren't options for me.
X4 didn't exhibit these problems so I can't understand how it can't be a bug, especially since the rectangular mask tool draws the rubber-banding rectangle without a problem. At this point would be preferring to be using X4.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a logo which appears in the footers of all of our technical manuals. Word recognizes it as a picture, and so our printer prints it in color, not black and white, so we are charged for the color copies.
I have exhausted my options in Word, and have been trying to create it as a TrueType font in DRAW, so word just thinks it's a symbol, not a picture.
The only file I have of the logo is a .bmp, so I've been tracing it to get it into vector form to manipulate. However, after all of my welding, combining, front minus back ect. ect. ect., I still can't get it down to the "1 object" requirement to make it a font.
