Recently we have had issues with customers that want a size scale behind their art to more appropriately judge their art size to approve.
I made a grid by hand, but is there a way to run a macro to fit it exact to the art?
I read somewhere that "Proof Colors" is not a feature introduced in X5 but there was also in X3. Is that true?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOn Corel X3 I used to export jpg proofs for email purposes. I could send RGB or CMYK version but CMYK did not appear properly on some computers (especially Macs) so I did everything as RGB.
Now in X5 I can see that standard 100% black exported as RGB gives just grey colour.
I understand that this may be appropriate conversion to indicate that this is not rich black (exporting as cmyk is fine) but I don't think it's a good solution because most of people refer to visual appearance on the screen.
Can I change anything to get the result more like on screen (like with X3)?
I don't know how do I send it now, If I send as RGB the colour is wrong (I would need to convert everything in cmyk to 100%) if I export as cmyk Mac users will see it wrong.

I have just discovered the proof on /off switch in the bottom right hand corner in Draw. What is this for? I notice the colurs change when I switch it on or off. I work with RGB and produce digital images for people to print out on their home printers to use in paper crafting. Should I have this switched on or off? I notice colours are slightly different when I print my designs off myself to what they are on screen. Is this an important feature or not. I only have a liminted basic understanding of the software and have only recently began colouring my images so don't know much about 'Colour' at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to send several graphics to someone by PDF. I think I can do it with Corel Draw, but I want to send a number of JPEG or Tiff graphics all in one PDF file via ONE e-mail.
I think I can do it with graphics in CDR format, BUT, I can't find any instructions on how to do it with any kind of RASTER graphic!
Unfortunately, the people I want to sent them to can only receive stuff in JPEG or Tiff, but NOT in Corel Photo-Paint. I know I can send the graphics one at a time, but that's a bit tedious!

Export is weird, maintain size is checked but it dose not give the proper size. My page size is 922x1344, but the image exported is half that size.

View 4 Replies View RelatedListing on ebay some clocks i do, looking at the latest requirements. They want a jpg image 1600 pixels on the longest size, ok its big but fair enough.
They also want it to be 90 on the 0-99 JPEG quality scale. Someone has shown me that scale in Ifranview but where do i find it in Corel Draw X4 blowed if i can find it, I don't really want to add another program just to sort this out, i am confident Corel Draw X4 can do it.
I have a 900 x 500 px image in Adobe Illustrator, which overlaps a bit the canvas on the left side.
When I open this file with Corel, it adjusts my graphics so that it's centered on the screen. The AI file is centered on another point. Also, the canvas Corel creates is A4 sized. I always have to resize the canvas and then manually adjust the position of my graphics.
Question: How can I save an AI file so that when I open it at Corel, the position and size of the canvas will be exactly the same?
How on earth do you export bitmaps cropped to the size of the canvas? This seems like the simplest functionality ever but i can't get it to work. For example, I am designing an advert for use online. It needs to be 600px wide x 150px high. I may want to use a background image or a photo that when placed goes beyond the edge of the canvas. Logic dictates i would only want to export the canvas with a web image (otherwise why would i have set an exact number of pixels.) However, Corel insists on exporting everything on the canvas and desktop. Surely it should allow us to choose the bounding area of the exported bitmap.
Just to clarify what I mean, i've included a screen shot showing and example original graphic and the export result. I'm sure there must be an easy way to do this. If it's one like this i can crop it easily, but sometimes a print customer will ask me to send them, for example, a 32pp booklet we have designed for them with each page as a JPG and to crop each one manually is a right pain.
Outlines don't scale globally with objects. I have a crest with a bunch of elements in it. Some have outlines and some don't. It's 3 inches. I would like to enlarge it to 10 or whatever. If I select the crest and enlarge it, the outlines don't scale. The only option I've ever known of was to take them all individually and check off the scale outline on each object. It's a real workflow killer.
I spent the day reacquainting myself with CorelDraw. This and other similar show stoppers remind me of how difficult it is to make the switch from Illustrator back to CorelDraw. So how are people dealing with this? Are you simply taking however much time it takes to change each individual element to scale with object or is there a preference somewhere that I'm missing? This is a big stumbling block for me. There are a lot of major features I know I'd be leaving behind but there are others that I'd have access to. It's the little things like this that allow me to fly rather than crawl.

In X4 it was very easy - just export as usual to the highest quality cmyk jpg and open in Photo Paint... now when I export this way it takes forever to bring up the preview page and most of the time it ends up being blank. Sometimes even crashes. I have played with all options in the filter dialog menu that I can find but nothing works. Thought it might be a file size problem but never had that problem in X4 and anything under 200dpi will not be high enough quality.

I recently bought a new pc and installed Corel Draw X5. When I export to eps and open the eps in Corel, the Pantone colors appear nearly black. This is also true for my clients, although I'm not sure what program they are using to open the eps.
It is worth mentioning that on my old PC I did not have this problem. EPS files I exported from Corel Draw X5 were fine. I could export eps files containing Pantone colors, and the Pantone colors would be there when I opened the eps file.
The settings I'm using under export to eps dialogue are the exact same settings I was using before:
Output colors as Native and PostScript 3.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, and CorelDraw X5 15.2.0.695
I receive an artwork from my customer to print a small label to cover some wrong printing.
The label is 110x160mm and the file size is 15MB.
So I intersect a small part of 4x40mm for the replacement label.When I save it as a new file, the filesize is 10MB!
I wonder why the small piece of artwork is so big, while it only contains a 4x40mm bitmap of 300dpi and the rest are vector.

I prepare an A0 size poster and with the vector graphics it is about 5 MB in size. When I started to insert a photos it reaches 50 MB. I carefully prepared my photos but for each 1.5 MB inserted image the size of the cdr file increases with about 7 MB.
You know, Corel hardly works with files bigger than 50 MB. I inserted 6 photographs 1.5 MB each of them but my cdr file became 50 MB and the program stopped working with it.
I not remember where is that!
Would be nice able to change the color or shape too!
No matter what size doc I create when I go to print it only shows letter size. Tried re-saving, changed page layout, etc. with no luck. If I press print I get a page size missmatch error.

Every time I try to upload the file it is seeing it as an 8.5' by 11". I am selecting page size in advanced tab
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded to X5 from X3 , and now when i Export EPS files, they are MASSIVE, I work in a company that does signs, and car vinyls and other graphics /vector related work, and It is important that i use EPS as file format for out " plotter" but a size of 800 mb and 2,2 GB now when it used to be 10 mb is insane.
I also use POSTSCRIPT 2, as 3, makes the file over 2 GBs.
I am having a problem with cutting the size of text that I want. On the main working screen I type in the specific dimensions of the text that I want to cut ( I have a graphtec cutter). When I pull up "Cut/Plot" in the dialog box under Job Size....the size is NEVER what I have specified. It is normally smaller.I will then type the dimensions into the Job Size field and cut the letter. BUT when I cut the letter......it is not the size I typed into the job size.

Graphics card with 1G onboard memory. I have the latest updates to CorelDrawx6 installed (x6.1 and x6.2).
I am now having trouble with fonts in all of my cdr files. Many of the fonts will default to size .001 and cannot make them stay at any other size. When I scale them manually, I can see them flash on the screen at the proper size, but when I "let go" of them they reduce back down to the invisible size.
I would like to know the default font height setting in coreldraw 12. I want font size in millimeter rather than pt.
