Corel Website Creator X5 :: Standard Component Item Does Not Function
Apr 1, 2011
Recently purchased website creator X5 and am very happy with the functionality and available options however I can't get any of the items under the standard component menu to function - such as rotating picture, ad banner, news ticker, etc... If I try any of these options listed under this menu - I drag the box but no dialog box opens as illistrated in the manual (pg 628 for what i'm doing). I've tried utilizing the options on blank pages to make sure it isn't a formatting problem, even uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times. NONE of these options function? Is there a plug-in I need to utilize this?
I've been playing with the text styles and my text boxes are getting closer to the format that I want. There easy to read in the preview section. But the spaces between paragraphs looks to big, so I want to reduce it.
Corel Draw has a docker for paragraph formatting where we can place spaces above or below a paragraph.
I have recently purchased Website Creator X5 and am a little challenged on how to set a picture for a web page background. When I insert the image (jpg or gif) as the background, it only shows part of the image. I assume I need to reduce the resolution of the picture down quite a bit to have the complete picture used as the web page background. If that is correct. What resolution do I need to go to? If not correct. How do I make my web page background use the image I want?
I've just loaded Corel Website Creator to a second pc -- a dell laptop. In page view, the Properties boxes are dithered -- see the screen cap below:
[URL]
I don't see this anywhere else in the program or any other programs. All other screens in Corel WSC look find. Can't find any 'options' setup that seem to control this.
I have been fumbling around for a long time now trying to create a simple search box for my website, but I can only seem to create a free google site search which won't even work as google thinks its a robotic search.
Is there a way to create a local site search engine using the tools provided in this program?
How can I set a link to another website in sub-directory ? For intense if my second website is inside a directory "/MyOtherWebsite" . Should I use external link? Link type <none>?
I created my site with Website Creator X5, using a predefined style. Now I want to add a single page (e.g. 404.html). This page should have the same design and graphics, but it should not appear in any menu bar or site structure.
Having one heck of a time taking a Camtasia Video and putting it in a web page to automatically start when the page is loaded.
Camtasia can produce a wide variety of formats but which one works best with Corel?
I do have a sample that I finally got to work and it's at [URL] ..... but that was created with powerpoint and video recorded with Jing (produced by the same people that make Camtasia Studio, only free).
I tried to make a swf but the resulting file requires the preloader for an "index" page that is written in html by Camtasia.
I want to make changes to a jpeg. The image is already in my design. The menu offers the option to open the image in a external editor which at this time is Paint.I would like it to be Corel PhotoPaint.
I am creating a simple website using the software. I am facing a problem because the navigation bar on the "home" page always get aligned to the left whereas it is centered to the left for the other pages as it is supposed to be. I tried to change the style.
I am a nube at website creator and know only a little about html. I have been fumbling around for a long time now trying to create a simple search box for my website, but I can only seem to create a free google site search which won't even work as google thinks its a robotic search.
Is there a way to create a local site search engine?
I am finally getting used to the operation of CWC and find it usable, but one thing bothers me. The page layout only fills the center one-third of the screen.
I have been working on a fairly simple website for a few months now using Website Creator X6. Everything was working well every time I tested the site internally. Now all of a sudden, the program is telling me the NOD file is damaged and that it cannot be recovered. I then get a message directing me to read "recover.txt" in the Website Creator directory for "alternative" ways of recovering the data.
The problem is, "recover.txt" doesn't exist.
I have tried importing the internally published pages to recreate the site, but Creator tells me the pages are "too large."
It also appears that Creator stopped creating backups of the NOD file.
How am I to recover this data so I can publish the site online? How could the NOD file have become corrupted in the first place? (I frequently got messages that the file was corrupted when I loaded it, but Website Creator always recovered it.)
1) how do i create a download file handler to manage file downloads in a website? to be precise, lets say for instance i need to place file samples for my audience to download, how do i go about it?
2) how do i place a file upload handler in a website?
When I start CorelDraw x6 there cames a message that I must log in for installing the WebsiteCreator. But when i do this I am logged in but nothing more.
I need to place HTML code so that I can get a blogtalkradio graphic link onto my website. Can't figure out how to place the code so it will display the graphic.
I have had a Corel account for several years. I bought, downloaded, and installed PSP X6 Ultimate several days ago. When I first loaded it, a window appeared asking me to register for a "Corel PaintShop Pro X6 Membership" (Standard), or to login under my existing account. However after I fill in the blanks for either new or existing membership and click the button, nothing happens...absolutely nothing. Then a smaller window opens that asks me to sign in (or if I'm not a member, offers an opportunity to learn more about PSP X6 Membership). When I fill in those blanks and click the button, I'm notified that I am not a member, so I click the link to learn more about PSP X6 Membership and am directed back to the window that doesn't do anything.
Converting the standard RGB file to CYMK is a simple click, it looks the same on screen, but there is a huge color shift when it's printed. Everything is much more blue and with more contrast. I've worked with the different color models trying to adjust my image to get it more close to the original, but it's not going so well.
A small feature I have been using for years, and find very useful, was changed in X6 Update 3. Using the Erase with the ALT key use to erase in a straight line from one point to another point. Now after installing Update 3 this key combination is used to interactively adjust transparency (a new feature according to the release notes).
Is the point-to-point erase feature gone or can I somehow adjust settings to get it back? Or is there now another key used for this?
Using CorelDraw Suite X6 with Update 3 on Windows 7 64bit.
I have a very simple image, 32-bit CMYK which is just black & white. I want to change all the black to Cyan. Should be easy, I just use rectangle mask to mark out the area I want then go to "Adjust->Replace Colors..." and it comes up with a dialog. So far so good.
I use the color picker to select black as the source I want to change, then I choose the color to change to, either with color picker or manually mixing it to pure Cyan. The colour does change, to something blue-ish or cyan-ish, but not what I specified. Same deal if I try with Magenta. It's close, but not quite.
If I just fill with Cyan, it does indeed come out the right color.
We are having an issue when we replace a component in Inventor Pro 2012. When we replace a component, the name in the browser does not update to the new component. We've even tried to close and re-open the Inventor assembly and that does not work. We end up manual double clicking the name in the browser and type in the new component name.

II need a way to tell if a component occurence is a virtual component.
I'm using a For Each loop to cycle through all of the components in an assembly, and if the component is itself an assembly to set the LOD to "Custom". I'm using the definition document descriptor object for this. It all woks fine until the loop comes across a virtual component which doesn't have a definition document, so I need a way to check if the component is virtual and needs to be skipped. Here's the
