Jan 8, 2013Some of the earlier versions (eg WP12) included clipart in .jp2 format. Connect V6 searches these files - but can't display them.

Corel CONNECT X5 :: Connect Search Doesn't Recognize Keywords In CDR Files
Feb 15, 2012i have been a long user of romcat... but would like to use the new corel connect. i use the folders selected to my HD folder that has all my cdr files (20yrs worth from ver 1). when i type in a search word that is in 100's of my cdr files keywords... connect doesnt display them. In romcat it does display them, even older files, with the same key word. connect only shows cdr files that have in its file name part of the search word, but seems to ignore the key words in the files.
I have all my job files with important key words within them, but the actual file names are simple job numbered names. i noticed on searches from X5 content on dvd, the files also are just numbers, but the search finds key words.
Corel CONNECT X5 :: Thumbnails Not Showing X3 CDR Files
Dec 31, 2010Recently had problematic re-install of both X3 and X5. Finally succeeded in sequential numeric order (i.e. first X3 and then X5). However now, CONNECT X5 no longer displays CDR vector file thumbnails. Currently CDRs are associated with X3.

May 25, 2012I just upgraded to X6. Connect show thumbnail of CDR files, but none of SVG clipart, neither CPT files.
I have Corel Graphic windows shell extension installed. Actualy the problem is the same with windows explorator, I can see thumbnails of CDR files, but none of SVG neither CPT files. I thought Connect could allow me to see those thumbnail.
it was the same problem with connect X5.
What could I do to see the CPT and SVG thumbnails ?
Corel CONNECT X6 :: Cannot View Clip Art
Jul 31, 2012When we go to use the clip art in connect all the clip art images are boxes with an x in the middle and you have to physically open each one to see what the clip art is. Are missing something here, do we have to click on something to view the images in the file without having to open each image.

Jul 11, 2011With the same folder open in Scrapbook and Connect side by side within Draw as a test , PSD and RIF thumbnails are visible in Scrapbook but not visible in Connect.
I would prefer to use Connect over Scrapbook but these are the two main file types I use.
Is there a way to view Painter RIF and PSD thumbnails in Corel Connect?

Corel CONNECT X5 :: Get Font To Output In Inches?
Mar 24, 2011How do you get your font to output in inches. I have tried to type in 2.25 inches and CorelDraw changes it to 162 pts. However, when it prints out it is not 2.25 inches it is more like 1.5 inches. Is it the font? I am using ITC Benguiat? Also, how do you change the font settings in X4 from pts to inches.

Aug 31, 2010When I open draw X5 and a new page, I put an object on that page but it does not tell me where that object is on the page. When I put in a X and Y dimention it will move that much and resets back to zero. Is there a setting some where that I have to change? In X3 it whould tell me where the object is.

Dec 15, 2012I bought Corel Draw X5 sometime back and had no issues.Then two weeks ago I purchased the Corel Draw X6 upgrade to take advantage of the 64 Bit design and the Free Corel Web Designer add on.My system is an AMD Phenom 965 x4 with a Win 7 HP 64 Bit OS loaded... 8GB RamI did non uninstall CD X5, when I loaded the CD X6So the problem....In Connect when I open a folder with pic files (raster) the Viewpane icons display normally...when I open a folder with Clip Art (vector) files each file displays the same default thumbnail with filename text caption... In my previous CD X5 32 bit install the Connect app worked with out errors displaying a Clip Art vector preview. Now after installing X6 64 bit, Connect in both x5 32 & x6 64 does not display previews for the clip-art .

May 12, 2013I would like to use a photo frame from connect, and keep it in the Effects>Creative>Frame menu of frames. I have downloaded and clicked and dragged the frame to my image, but I would like to reuse this frame. Is it possible to add it to the menu? I can download it to the menu - but it is a temporary item in the list of views to the right, which can be replaced from any of the permanent members of the dropdown selection of frames on the left of the Frame menu. I would like a frame to become one of those "permanent frames."

Mar 8, 2014A week ago all was well in Premiere Pro CS6 world. One day I updated Windows, next day all but a few .mp4 video files opened in Premiere Pro, played fine as well, EXCEPT for the fact that the display now has green (sometimes multicolour, sometimes a solid green block) bars in the lower third of the screen. See screenshot below.
These same files open/display fine in After Effects, Photoshop and VLC- and Quicktime players. I'd read something fromyears ago about Windows Updates causing this, so removed one of therecent KB's to no avail. I did install AdobeMediaEncoderTrial_64-6.0.3-mul-AdobeUpdate and DynamicLinkMediaServerRetail-1.0.1-mul-AdobeUpdate and reverted to Quicktime 7.6 but nothing makes a difference.
In the end, I formatted C:, reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, downloaded/installed about 260 updates and reinstalled CS6 (and then the aforementioned AME and DLMS updates and QT7.6) but it's STILL the same problem.
Also tried exporting (part of) one of these files, just to see if it wasn't just a display problem: the exported file with the same properties as the original also has the green bars.
AutoCAD LT :: 2010 - CUIX Files Not Displaying
Apr 25, 2012I have loaded in some cuix files in LT 2010. They have appeared in the customisation area and in the current Workspace and I have turned on the menus I require and no error is returnned, however when I go to the drawing screen none of the customised menus or ribbon tabs have appeared. I have performed an Autocad LT repair and also a reinstall from the add/remove programs and I have also tried a different .CUIX file but still no luck.

Dec 14, 2013I am having a strange issue with LR 5.3 however this issue could have been here before and I never noticed. Over the years I have been using the gps4cam app on either my iPhone or Android phone to track GPS data. For the most part I have never had serious issues with the data and the tracking results. I was away a few weeks ago shooting images and using gps4cam and have found some strange behavior in LR after reviewing images.
All images shot with my Canon 5D MK III and then tagged with gps4cam work perfectly in Lightroom both in showing the data and displaying fairly accurately in the Maps module. However images shot on my Canon EOS-M and tagged with the same GPS data either don't show the data (almost like it doesn't exist) at all in LR 5.3 or are completely off when viewed on maps. If I open these same images in Geosetter, they show accurate position and location on the maps.
I don't do a lot of Geotagging of my images except when I travel and didn't want to have to buy the Canon GPS Device.
AutoCAD 2013 :: Displaying Chinese Character On DWG Files
Nov 19, 2012I am currently in urgent need to open an autocad file (.dwg) that has Chinese characters in it, but no matter I tried to download many different .shx fonts I still couldn't get it displayed.
I tried to talk with the maker of the file, but for some reason and addition with my poor Chinese language, I cannot get him understood what I need him to do (send me the .shx files). I am attaching the .dwg file.

Aug 17, 2004For some reason some of my files are displaying as black and white in Layout view. The files display as they should in color in model space. These files contain color layers but the color can only be viewed in Paper space when I select an object and am moving it.

Jul 12, 2011Just installed the trial version of Corel Paintshop Photo Pro X3. Now I try to open old files made around 1999-2001 with Corel Photo Paint (from Office 7 Professional). None of the files are recognized. Funny thing is, WordPerfect X3 does recognize those files, and is able to import them in a document. But what do I have to do to be able to work with those files again in Corel Paintshop?? Or in any other photo-editing program for that matter?

Jun 14, 2012How to import the AI EPS image (files done & saved on Adobe Illustrator) to Ventura 8 using a script? Basically, unlike EPS / TIFF / or JPEG images, the AI EPS images could be loaded in Ventura using script, but the script has a different behavior. It flawlessly loads & imports the AI EPS (you could see the AI EPS files in Ventura publication chapter file navigator), but the image does not load in the publication template.
In order for these AI EPS images to get loaded & appear in the template, they need to be imported as Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) using the Filter Type option (attached image for reference).
CorelDRAW X4 :: PSD Files Causing Corel To Crash
Jun 26, 2012So A client hires a designer to create a vehicle wrap. He does it in Photoshop. If you have not done vehicle wraps before you DO NOT DESIGN IN PHOTOSHOP!!! Anyway, he sends me a link to download a psb file. Another bad sign. Means the file is huge! 1 hr to download. I open it in photoshop (at least he left it unflattened) and reduce it down enough to make a psd with layers intact. I then import it into Corel and begin placement into the vector vehicle template. Once I get all the images fiting nicely I hit save. Come back to it the next day and it won't open. Message says a bitmap is not right "Abort, Retry or Ignore" I try the backup file, same error. I try to move a copy to my hard drive instead of working over the network. No go! Try rebooting, no go! Rebuilt the file agian and saved that version to my desktop. Saved successfully, made a couple changes and then CorelDraw crashes and shuts down. Try to reopen the file and same errors occur.

May 19, 2011A month ago, a Windows update broke the version of PowerPoint I was using (on deadline, of course). The next day, while we were trying to straighten out that mess, I hit a website that downloaded a virus, which caused Win XP to blue screen within minutes. That got cleaned up immediately, and our net op set my computer to run in safe mode. After about 2 weeks in safe mode, I returned to normal access.
Since I started running safe mode, I've been unable to write to the workspace files in Ventura. I thought returning to normal access would straighten that out, but it hasn't. Neither has a reinstall. The net op has been through the registry twice, including cleaning out every key he could find before the reinstall.
Every time I close V10, I have to hit OK on half a dozen prompts. There's one for each of the four *.cfg files in the workspace folder. After the fourth one (shortcut keys), the Ventura window closes and the shortcut keys message is presented twice more.
Naturally, within VP, if I access Options, I get the four cfg prompts, and I get them again when I click OK in the Options palette. Only the cfg files are affected. The workspace *.ini files update without issue.

Jun 22, 2011One of the reasons I have always liked PhotoPaint is because one can do some amount of video editing with it which is handy for animations or title frames to use in video editing programs. PhotoPaint has always been my preferred tool for making animated gifs from avi or mov files.
I see that it will open uncompressed avi or mov files but if they are compressed, it won't open them properly; such as showing the frames as solid black.
Is there a way to import additional codecs or filters or whatever for avi and mov into x5?

Movie > Create From Document > Insert From File > select multiple images and click OK = crash
Very sad. Because I have to insert over 100 frames and doing it one by one.
