View 3 RepliesI am trying to utilize Trimble's ability to export Points to an XML file. The XML file contains some additional Attribute data. I have created the new Point UDP's and also Created a new Point File Format. Here lies the Problem, when I go to the Insert Tab in the Ribbon and pick import from XML. It gives me no choices to select a Point File Format? It just imports the file with just PNEZD data only, and not my additional Attributes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to reprocess some videos that I created several years ago that utilize AVI files, all of which are 640x480 15 FPS. I load the VSP file and all of the video clips load fine. I have no problems viewing the AVI files in Windows or in other video editing programs. If I try to view a clip in VS, VS Pro X4 aborts. If I just try to generate a video file (same as first clip), I get the message "No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection."
I've also noted the VS X4 aborts if I try to utilize AVI files generated on my PC from video screen capture programs.
I am trying to utilize state sets so that I don't have to re render an entire scene to change one thing. For instance, in the attached image, I need to keep re rendering the floor patterns. So I created a state set where only the floor renders but obviously includes reflections and everything else from the model. I am getting these black clouds showing up though that I can't figure out what it is or where they are coming from.
I have just been turning off the other objects "Visible to Camera" to acheive this. what could be causing these clouds coming from the second floor?
Just bought my first SSD drive (240GIG)and are about to set it up for the purpose of doing any Adobe CC work the fastest I can.
Obviously I have to install the Windows 7 Pro system onto the drive and Adobe files, I imagine that any work Adobe .psd/work files I should also keep on the drive?
So partition it like
C: Windows 100GIG
D: Program Files and Work Files 140GIG
Or should I add another drive E: so I can set scratch disks to it? Or can scratch disks just utilize my old non SSD drive? I imagine getting everything onto SSD would be the way to go, but thats only guessing.
I have CS6 and need to be able to utilize the open GL option but not sure what I need to do to make this work...trying to bring a 3D pdf into photpshop for animation. Screen simply reads "enable 3D view'.

View 3 Replies View RelatedDoing my reading and learning about dimensioning and so forth. In the book it is talking about using DIMEDIT but for the life of me I cannot find an icon for it in the ribbon.
I can activate the command in the command line with DED but the only icon in the ribbon is preset for oblique, and I want just the standard DIMEDIT.
They even show an icon in the book for it but in Autocad 2013 that icon is used for DIMOVERRIDE.
Is DIMEDIT just not included as an icon?

I created the icon and command, I added the following to the command line:
^C^Cnetload "C://Program Files//my stuff//myProgram.dll” adp
(adp will lanch the program)
I get the following:

Originally I tried using single slashes (/), but it still gives the same error. It seems to have trouble with the spaces in the file path. How do I work around that?
I prefer to work from toolbars on the right side and bottom of the screen. I'm finding the icon size to be much too small and it's slowing up my work because I can't discern one from the other -- and yes, I am wearing my glasses. Is there anything I can do to increase the size?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running AutoCAD 2013. My issue is that the top row of icons (New, Open, Save, etc. and all of the Autodesk 360 info) have become nearly invisible. If I hover the cursor over the icon it tells me what it is and I know I am clicking in the correct area. I think it was some sort of background transparency issue, but can't remember where to reset that to opaque.

View 8 Replies View RelatedOne of our clients would like different file icons for the .DWG and .DXF files. I have tried numerous ways of changing them (even went as far as extracting the icons from the "acadficn.dll" file where they are originally drawn from.
If I change the file icon for one file extension, then the other changes automatically.I would love to get some pointers.
The AutoCAD video tutorials on the site such as "AutoCAD 2010_ 01 Getting Ready for 3D" show a 3D UCS icon which has some nice arrows at the end of each axis, this looks similar to the icon in Solidworks.
Has there been some change in design to this icon from 2010 to 2014? The UCS 3D icon in the version 2014 that i'm running does not have these arrows and if I can find a setting to have it display in this way, it certainly doesn't show up in any of the visual styles e.g. xray, conceptual or realistic. I've not found any info anywhere documenting the change, if any.
Here is a pic from the above mentioned video tutorial with arrows on UCS:
Here is a pic from 2013-2014 UCS with no arrows.
I have recently been fighting an override of some sort that doesn't want to go away. As an example, for basic copy command, I would normally select my object to copy, type C, hit the space bar, and select my object again to copy to new location. With this override, I select my object, type C, hit the space bar, and in the command line, this appears:
Command: c COPY 1 found
Current Settings: Copy mode = Multiple
Specify base point or [Displacement/mOde] : c
When I use the layer isolate to isolate layers and then use the unisolate icon many layers are turned OFF which were not turned off before before using the isolate function. I have to go into layer manager, select all and turn them back on. Is this a Autocad glitch or am I doing something wrong. I am in an office with multi-users and they all seem to have this problem at times?

My Visual Studio 2010 VB.NET program creates a shortcut to an ACAD.EXE file. I want to use the out-of-the-box AutoCAD icon image. The default path to the icon image is:
%SystemRoot%Installer{GUID}ACA2013.ico
I use the following methodology:
Dim objShellClass As New IWshRuntimeLibrary.IWshShell_Class Dim objShortcut As IWshRuntimeLibrary.IWshShortcut
objShortcut = CType(objShellClass.CreateShortcut(strPathFile), IWshRuntimeLibrary.IWshShortcut)
With objShortcut
.Arguments = strArguments
.Description = strName
.IconLocation = strIconLocation
[code]....
Everything works fine except the shortcut image is blank. When I right-click on it and select properties, then Change Icon... it is pointing to the correct icon image. If I select OK and OK the icon image appears on the shortcut.
Why does the image NOT appear when the shortcut is initially created?
I finally managed to capture this phenomenon.... It happens every day, several times a day, but I was never able to capture it until now. Seems to occur when you open and close various palettes, but it's not reproducible on demand.

But is there a way to get an image icon in the project list? I have a lot of projects and descriptive names only go so far with me. A little image next to each one would jog the memory. Rather than plod through a bunch looking for the right one.
