The plots will not fit on the desired page correctly at large scale i.e sheets over A3 ! The preview even displays incorrectly i.e portrait only. All I want to do is print a dwg in landscape but it keep only printing half the page (The white sheet is always portrait) but the information is landscape !
I use adobe photoshop lightroom 3.6, earlier i was able to export photos to my desired folders in desired format but i am not at all able to export any photos at all!
I`m having some trouble getting the desired shape on a cut.I used a Extrusion cut which is the desired shape except i need the cut to get deeper as it travels around the bowl.In the picture with this post the cut starts at point A and travels around to point B.I need point B to be 60mm lower as it passes point A.As it travels around the bowl from A to B the cut gets deeper..I was thinking maybe the Coil feature .
We have two drafting assistants using LT 2010, with Windows XP. One is assigned to do record plotting, and uses our company standard .ctb file without any problems.
The second LT 2010 user has now been assigned to assist with record plotting. However, lineweights are plotting out about half the width of the specified .ctb file. We have double-checked all the ACAD LT & Windows plot settings, and they are identical for both drafting assistants.
Is there a system variable or other setting that I am missing?

I have an issue with ACAD 2010 where I import jpg shots into the drawing - often a google sketch up wireframe lightened image underneath my drawing - but when I go to plot a pdf, it shows in the print preview, but when the plot is completed, the sketchup image is not shown.
I want to add a sort of legend / information box to my drawings, in a manner where it can remain constant and in the same place every time I print but I can edit the information therein. I guess that means making up a template, but I'm stuck beyond that.
Having robbed this picture from the Google image search:
I want to make that table at the top. Maybe add a company logo, the title, scale, author, etc. I'm sure you know the score. But I was hoping I could do it in such a way where I've only got to draw it once and all future drawings I can simply edit the specifics and add it to all drawings, regardless of size or scale.
I normally draw things with a pencil and drawing board and believe me during this learning process there have already been too many times where I'm tempted to go back!
using acad 2010, when trying to save a profile , i set all the desired setting , and expect to have a "save profile" button , but all buttons refer to the selected profile, how can i save a new profile?
I am having trouble getting a DXF underlay to plot clearly and boldly. I insert the ref to the dxf, then, in paperspace, create viewport, etc. I plot all files to pdf (seperate install) for record purposes. When plotting this file, the dxf is very faint--even though the preview is very bold and dark.
I have a client that is requesting a high resolution pdf for the purpose of sending to a graphic specialist to be made into a sign for a subdivision.
i am using civil 3d 2012 on windows 7, 64 bit.
using pdf995 and/or dwg to pdf as my driver, the only way i can get it to deliver a high-res graphic file is to have it produce an extremely tiny area, which, when blown up to the 4' x 8' size for the sign, gets even worse than the 72 dpi it gave me in the first place. Where i can get a driver to have autoCAD print a drawing to pdf at higher resolutions? Or, how to get autoCAD's default pdf creator to produce higher res?
Looking for a tutorial or some input on how to get my civil engineering (water design) drawings to plot at a 1" = 40' scale (or some other variable of the 1" = xx feet setup). Running AutoCAD Map 3D 2011...and the .DWT files we have in our library USED to show a scale list that included all these engineering scale settings. Where can i learn about the variables/settings/unit settings/scale lists i need to have in my templates to be able to plot at these scales?
Any easy or more reliable way of getting balloons to stay in the direction you want?
In the image i've attached you can see what normally happens when dragging a balloon in position on the left and what i desire (and accomplish after a lengthy fight) on the right.
Is there a way to make a balloon (3.30.4 in this case) go into the desired direction without having to fight with it?
I'm making this diagram of the load condition acting on tunnels to explain a Japanese set of equations that are used for the structural analysis for tunnels:
load condition for EEM.jpg
But, there is one problem I have. I'm trying to set up the text for the dimension between the water table and the tunnel "Ha" to look horizontal.
However, if I click on the properties box and write 90 in the rotation box right next to where it says "text rotation," the dimension text does not rotate 90 degrees; if instead I try to rotate it 180° then it only rotates 90° (and in the opposite direction) instead of 180°. It doesn't matter how many degrees I choose, it won't rotate my dimension "Ha" to desired angle to make it look horizontal.
OK I know it's hard to explain my problem with just writing, so I've posted a few pictures:
In this one, the dimension is at 0°; I've only opened the properties box to attempt and rotate it: no rotation.jpg
Now I write 90 in properties box but the dimension text does not rotate at all; it remains at 0 as it is shown in the following image: 90 & no rotation.jpg
Next I try to rotate 180, just to see what happens; and it does rotate (only 90 degrees!): 180 rotates 90.jpg
I finally try to rotate the text 270 just to see if it rotates to desired angle and it does rotate (180 degrees from original position). As shown below:
270 last try.jpg
It doesn't matter how many degrees I choose, I cannot make it look horizontal.
How can I set up my dimension text "Ha" to look horizontal?
I have a phantom line showing up when I plot this particular drawing. When I plot this drawing, do a preview or plot to a pdf, I'm getting a phantom diagonal line going across the drawing. There is no object there in model space or paper space!!! I havn't left on any hidden/locked layers etc. I'm not doing anything I don't normally do with drawings like this. It's just a topographic map of a residence with a surface. I've purged, audited, recovered, even started a new drawing and inserted the componets and nothing fixes this. I feel like throwing my computer out the window and applying at Wal-mart.
When plotting any IDW files to our full size plotter, I have ghost lines running through the drawing (lines that are not present in the drawing, on screen or preview) alomost like the plotter is printing extra extension lines on the drawings, overlaying 2 sheets on 1 drawings and even moving some text on the drawings. I have all the SP's and am lost. I can move to another computer and print drawings fine so its not a plotter issue.
My insert script always plots different results(off by a little bit, but not much)... unless I manually paste them line by line which complete defeats the purpose of having a script.
If you have had the issue with blue plotting purple with HP printers I discovered that its with the quality you set your printer at. If you plot draft or preview your blue will plot purple or a shade of purple. When I switched the quality to normal it fixed the issue. I called HP about the issue before I discovered this and they said update your drivers which mine were already.
We recently upgraded to 2014 and have been experience significant issues with plotting to PDF. When plotting individual pages, we are able to center the plot and adjust the margins to where they will plot correctly. However, when trying to "batch publish" mutiple layouts of a drawing they all come out off center or parts of them are being cut off.
I've been working on some wiring schematics lately and I noticed that when I plot to PDF (using both Adobe and the ACAD PDF plotter) my plots are coming out fuzzy. It looks like I have a shadow around my text and lines. In the attached graphic, the plot on the left was drawn about a year ago, the one on the right was done within the last two months. I recently went in and changed the PDF plot setting to High quality print. Ultimately,I didn't have this issue last year and as far as I can remember, I haven't made any changes to my plot settings.
When I grab the EOP and want to drag up past the features higher up than the current scroll position, I don't have a good control. The EOP is already reached the beginning of the part.

I need to have users plot to DWF from paper space so they cancustomize all the layers colors etc, on that specific paper space tab. I then am mixing this with FDO data generated out of Model space. Unfortunately, when using the EXPORTLAYOUT command, the data is coped into Model space but seems to retain it's paper space coordinates. I had hoped this function would behave like CHSPACE and copy everything from paper to model space in the same scale.
I've received a dwg file from someone and I want to print it at scale 1:50 on A0 paper. However, I'm struggling creating the right scale.
My problem starts with the fact that measuring lines in the diagram does not produce values that match the actual size. E.g., I have a wall of size 390, but measuring it shows 621.
Is there any way to change the units to match the actual desired size?
Then, I find it tricky to create the right scale for printing (people will get the paper and use a ruler to measure distances, so accurate scale is important). If I cannot change the units, I guess I need a different scale than 1mm=50units. So I tried 1mm=8units, because 7.8mm should measure as 390cm in 1:50 ruler. But this is not very accurate.
I have a few files with layouts that have multiple viewports where layers were frozen to get the desired display, the drawing was saved, yet everytime the drawing is re-opened those layers are on again. This is creating problems because I am batch plotting many drawings at once. The layers are not locked.
I've created a viewport, selected it and since gone to zoom the relevant image until it is the desired size within the viewport.
I've done this a million times before without a problem, but am having terrible difficulty at the moment.
Once I've zoomed the image to size and subsequently exited the viewport frame (to view the sheet) my image disappears - I believe it just becomes a microdot.
Incidentally, when I initially go to zoom the image to fit the viewport window, I have to use the zoom, extents, 'select all' (CTRL A) and then significantly enlarge the component of the drawing I wish to have fill the viewport window.
Why is it that the zoomed image fills the viewport window when editing the viewport contents and then disappears (turns back into a microdot) when I've finished editing the respective viewport?
I have encountered a problem when creating a PDF. On the sheet there are 14 viewports, and when I plot the sheet to a PDF, one of the viewports plots completely blacked out. I have redone the viewport and Xref, but it still turns out black.
I'm having a problem with "phantom" lines appearing in PDF plots.
The Situation:
The firm I work for often uses Excel tables in Autocad LT 2013. I have learned through experience its better to use a linked table, but in this situation only paste special is an option due to time constraints.
Basically when we try to plot a DWG with tables specially pasted in the drawing space phantom lines appear.
But only when we try to convert to PDF. In the plot preview everything is fine, but when the PDF is created vertical lines appear in the tables on the actual PDF.
I've tried many different options to fix this but so far the only thing that has worked is, converting the DWG to a DWF and opening in Design Review. From there I plot to PDF and everything is fine, no lines appear.
In the DWG I have tried tweaking the Plot Quality for the "pasted" tables to no avail.
All, I have created a drawing with cross sections. When I open the drawing the material table shows up below the section view instead of where I placed it. If I update the group the tables go back to where they should be. The problem is when I publish them using SSM the tables show up below the view , where they are when I open the drawing. It would be very time consuming to plot each sheet individually.

I always try to use this wipeout command for electromechanical views that hide details so I don't have to trim line entities. I create pdf files then plot the pdf files to a printer. Why does the printed wipeout fill in black when printing?
I'm running autocad 2013 and it has some nice hatching options, but when I go to plot them with general layers that are setup to plot in black, they print in color. I have a monochrome.ctb file i'm using and if i plot regular lines they are fine.
Just upgraded my PC and before when I select plot quality "high graphics" the spreadsheet comes out low resolution, if I use monochrome spreadsheets came out perfectly defined.
Now with the new PC High graphics still comes out the same but when I select monochrome all I get is a solid black block. If the OLE object is an image (BMP) it comes out perfect with monochrome,it only happens with excel files
I search the forums for an answer but the closest I found was changing the OLE type under properties (currently is embedded); problem is the field is grayed out and cannot be changed just as the source application (ms excel 2003)
By the way, on the older files created with my old PC if I just open and print them from the new computer they come out perfect; if I open the OLE file and modify it, the solid black block shows up regardless if I print to PDF or print on paper.
