View 3 RepliesI am having a problem opening older sheet sets from AutoCAD 2014.
I can select the .dst file, but when it "opens" I onlly have the icon in the seet set manager and nothing else, it is entirely blank.
I made a new sheet set, but now older versions of AutoCAD cannot read that one.
When I use my autoCAD at the office to create a Sheet set file I allways get the message "Unable to Create a sheet Set file". Is there a way correct this problem.I am using AutoCAD 2012 on a network. I have tryed to create sheet set files on my local C: drive and other drives without any luck.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD 2012. I’ve come to realize that my Sheet Set command won’t work, as I cannot get any sheet sets to open. When I select a sheet and try and open it, nothing happens at all.
Also, I did get an error message when trying to create a new sheet set, “Unable to create sheet set file: *filename*”
The company I work for has a large number of Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts. To reduce the amount of time needed to create both Left Hand and Right Hand sheet metal parts, I use the Derived Part icon. I create a Left Hand part, use the derive icon with mirroring on and create the Right Hand part. While the Right Hand sheet metal part gets created, the Right Hand part will not allow me to create a Flat Pattern.
what steps must I follow to create a derived sheet metal part that I can make a Flat Pattern with?
way to renumber an entire sheet set without having to stop at each subset? Currently, I right click on a sheet and select "rename & renumber". The Rename and Renumber dialog box pops up and I type "1" then click on "next", type "2", "next", and so on. This continues until the end of the subset, the stops. Then I have to right click on a sheet in the next subset and start over.
I want to renumber the whole plan set without stopping at each subset. Obviously, I can get rid of the subsets, but that isn't my question. I want to keep the subsets and have the ability to renumber the whole set.
Have created 3 sheet sets. Like to create a sheet set with all 3 and still keep the original 3 sheet sets.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen we plot full packages for construction documents, we have to provide plot numbers for each sheet to the printing room. This is a completely different number then the sheet number itself....the plot number is basically the actual sheet number within the entire construction document. So if there's 245 sheets in the entire construction document and landscape sheets need to start at 188, is there a way to set up a field that knows how to number accordingly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI love the concept of sheet sets, particularly when printing project drawings in one stroke. But my current understanding is that a drawing can only be associated with one sheet set. Most of my projects include drawings common to all.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI have made a model with 40 viewframes. I have used the option to export 4 layouts to one drawing. My question is can I revise the original model and get the revisions automatically updated in the 10 drawings or do I have to redo the export option?

After publishing, the printer icon shows the job is spooling, when i hover over it, it says "publish job in progress". And never changes. The sheet set works fine in 2011. I have tried recreating, updating dwt files, multiple setups, tried using the dialogue box and publish override. Nothing is working.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm rebuilding the primary project template folder for my company. This folder contains a variety of drawings linked together using Xrefs and such. I'm setting up sheet sets in the plotting of these sheets.
I'm working with 15 different drawings and setting up 130 sheet sets that will each plot 1 layout from each of these 15 drawings. All of the drawings have the same layout names (A1, B1, C1,...,Z5). So, for example, the A1 layout from all 15 drawings is 1 sheet set.
When a new project is started, the template folder is copied and renamed. A known issue is that this new project still links all of the Xrefs back to the original template folder's DWGs. We use a script plus the 'Redir" command to update the Xref paths.
Now I'm noticing that the Sheet sets I've setup are having the same behavior, and I can't seem to find a way to quickly fix the file path of 130 sheet sets with 15 sheets per set.
Also, any faster way to setup the sheet sets I've described above other then individually adding layouts to their respective sheet set. I was hoping there would be a batch type method given that all the layouts have standard names.
I want to start printing some of this stuff I've created, I used a sheet set I downloaded from somewhere but now that I'm further down the road I want to change the layout, title blocks and such. What's the best way you pros would handled this. I know there's times when a customer of yours walks in and says we want to change how the sheet looks, they have new logos, title block request and other things they want changed, they also want to change the sheet size, how would you handle these things, I'm really interested in how you would change the sheet size in the middle of a project.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in the process of generating a separate package which is a suppliment to the main package for a project. The sheets from the suppliment will be incorporated into the main project, but many sheets from the main project will not be included in the suppliment.
My thought was to make a separate sheet set that shares layouts with the main set which I was able to do by making a copy and renaming the .DST file. Now I see that supposedly a single layout cannot exist in two sheet sets. I ended up working around this by creating a sheet in SSM with the same # and Name in each Sheet Set and was able to get them to appear in both. Want to find out if I'm creating a landmine of a problem down the road or if there is a better way to do what I'm doing. In the past, I beleive we simply selectively printed only the appropriate sheets but on that project it was cumbersome and at the scale of this project it will be worse.
I am having some issues with sheetset. The pdf name is name of the drawing + name of layout.
1. The sheet sets do not follow the order of the drawings layouts
2. The list is not according to the drawings order in the directory
3. The sheets are automatically combined when I want them to be separate
4. There are numbers 1,2,3... automatically prefixed to the sheet causing additional trouble.
how to take multiple A3 Layouts, and instead of having to plot and select each layout, can I select all the layouts and have them Pdf into one document.
I have had a look at publish and tried to do it, but they are still printing as individual sheets. What exactly does the term "sheet sets" mean. Is this what I am trying to achieve or is this a different action?
I just opened up a project Sheet Set that i haven't worked on in a while, and all of my layout pages have a series of "#" in place of the fields. For example, the name of my viewport should read "Head Detail", which is the name given to that view in the Sheet Set Manager, but instead reads "##############". This also happens with my view numbers, callout bubbles, etc.
However, the information in my title block is still intact. For example, the Project Name, Client Name, Page Number, etc. all read the correct values.
I tried opening the drawings in Reference Manager, but I see no alerts or errors. I have had this happen before in previous versions going back to at least 2010, but they have always been small projects and I just recreated the views and callouts. This is a large project however, and redoing this will cost hours, if not days of extra work.
In examining the fields, it seems like the problem fields are those defined by the SheetSetPlaceholder Filed Name, and the Placeholder type is irrelevent; they are all broken. For other Field Names, for example CurrentSheetNumber, the references still work.
Any way to stop the recently opened Sheets Sets from showing up? To me, it's highly irritating and they always crowd out my .dwg's. All you have to do is open any sheet file and the Sheet Set Manager opens automatically.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a SheetSet of a wastewater treatment plant that contains 70 sheets fully developed. The SheetSet incorporates Sheet Views, ViewLabels, and View Callouts as part of the SheetSet as well as Fields in the standard titleblock for Sheet Title and Sheet Number. A Sheet List Table created from the Sheet Set is used as the Project Sheet Index.
There are Structural and Mechanical (HVAC) drawings that require design subcontractor review and editing. These design subcontractors will make their own edits to our existing drawings. They are outside our office and have no direct digital connectivity with us. It is most likely not possible to provide them connectivity to our project file storage space for non-technical reasons. (i.e. it may be technically possible but not possible for other reasons not under my control.) Their knowledge and proficiency with Sheet Sets is unknown.
What is the, or is there a, best method for accomplishing coordination of our Sheet Set with the subcontractor edits under these conditions?
If digital connectivity between our offices is possible, what is the best practice / scenario for Sheet Sets with that setup?I'll need to send the files to these subcontractors or establish connectivity in the next few days!
I have created an assembly that has a parts list, and in this parts list I have up to 100 mono detail drawings. I would like to know if there is a way to print all of these drawing from that list in a massive plot.
At my previous company we had something like this in AutoCAD where a script was created to look at the drawings and print all drawings mentioned in the assembly BOM and subsequent sub-assemblies, it worked beautifully.
I find that I have to print all drawings to paper or PDF individually.
I am not able to open Sheet list in Sheet Set Manager.......
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm detailing a simple square plate with a good number of holes in it. I create an ordiate set running vertically along the LH edge and select the holes that are close to that side. Origin is the lower LH corner. Works great, easy.
The holes that are closer to the RH side though I'd like to show on that side. So I go to create a second ordinate set for the RH side and choose the lower RH corner as the origin and choose my holes that are close to that edge. The 2nd set will automatically show a second "0.000" dimension on the bottom edge and I can't supress it by right clicking.
Is there a better way to do this? What I've done now is to not use a set but just choose ordinate dimension and go from the opposite edge, which works.... But alignment is better with a set.
I've encountered a pretty nasty problem over the past week. I can no longer add specific layouts to existing sheet sets. I can make a new sheet set, but I cannot see the drawings that I would like to add to the sheet set.
The only "solution" I've found is to make a new sheet set, save each of the desired dwgs as newly renamed dwgs, and then, f if I pat myself on the head and spin around in 3 complete circles, I have a 78% chance of being able to add them to the new sheet set.
Obviously, this is like cutting off your hand and holding it, while your friend shakes your deadhand, instead of just shaking his hand.
I've read about this so-called dbl file, but much like Bigfoot, I have not seen one with my own eyes. We have never had this problem in our office- got a new server- had this problem (isolated to the new drive) - got it "fixed" - problem has spread to older drives.

As of today, my sheet set manager is unable to open any sheet set files (*.dst). It was working fine yesterday. There is no error message or prompt; it simply won't open them.
At first I thought it was some compatibility issue, since I recently upgraded from ACAD 2011 to ACAD 2012 (both 64 bits), but the dst file was created using 2012. I had been even creating new sheets and modifying the dst properties as recently as yesterday.
I opened the same files in my still-installed 2011 and the same result.
However, I went to some colleague's computer to open the same files, since the files are located in a networked environment, and voilá, the dst works perfectly. My colleague still uses 2011.
This means there is something wrong with "me".
Also, when I try to create a new sheet set file via the Sheet set Wizard, when I go from "Sheet Set Details" to "Choose Layouts" I can't and it throws me the message "Unable to create sheet set file: [route]".
My work entails regenerating new drawings from aging specification drawings and figures. Very little actual CAD, more hand-tracing JPGs than anything. I'm new to AutoCAD LT and haven't used most of its features. But the one feature I really need right now is to be able to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
As in, a 2-D closed polygon with a solid black fill. Unfortunately, AutoCAD LT doesn't think I should be allowed to print a black box on a sheet of paper.
I've tried assigning the color to the box using properties. I've tried defining layers and moving the box to the "black" layer (funny that "black" isn't a defined color in AutoCAD...that's way cool...). I've tried various settings in the Plotter setup screen.
I have a color plot table selected and I'm trying to print to .PDF. I work strictly out of the model view and do a lot of print previews. What am I, or have I, done, or not done, that I'm supposed to be doing, to print the box?
For some reason I cannot unfold sheet metal product on attached file. Where have I made a mistake? I used extruding, also sheet metal thickness from rule has been set to 2mm. Rest are default values.
