Aug 24, 2012ACAD 2010 text doesn't view the same in MSpace and PSpace! Model space is the acad default text: txt Paper Space it appears as it should as Romans. The drawings print as txt and not as it should Romans! When I change the text in model space to Romans, save the drawing, enter PSpace and the return to MSpace, it seems to 'reset' back to text!
This is specific to my workstation BTW, when I open the dwg file on a colleagues PC it opens Romans in both Model and Paper space.

I would like to see a way of locking out model space while editing text in paper space. Unless you double click right on the text, you often end up in Model Space...I know - big deal right? It can become annoying or a big deal when a deadline is looming - when is one never? Also big fan of locking viewports.

May 2, 2012I have been working on a set of residential drawings. I Have read several different ways to achieve text size when plotting.
I currently have all my text and dimscale set to 0" height. I have the 'scale dimensions to layout (paper space)' radio button checked. However, I cannot see even the slightest hint of test when looking at my screen. I sent a dwg to a friend of mine who plotted it. no text was visible. What height should I set the text to in order to achieve an 1/8" tall plotted text? I cannot see text in either the model space or in the paper space.

Nov 9, 2012Working in acad2011, I have a 3D model and i did flatshot. The obscured lines I chose to be - - - - - (ISO02W100). Now i have to annotate and get my paper layout rdy for printing.
Questions:
1. Is there a way of scaling lines that make up my flatshot image in model space?
2. How can i scale the lines in paper space?
The - - - - - lines just don't seem right in my paper space.

Feb 15, 2012I have got a large drawing with multiple viewports and some layers that are shown in model space won't show when I access model space from paper space (through the viewport). I have had a look at the layer manager through the viewport and everything is switched on, there is no viewport freeze activated but still I can't see the lines in the viewport in paper space (either in model or paperthrough the template).

May 24, 2013I'm using AC 2011LT on a PC Every time I print to PDF or printer a line appears which is not visible on the model or paper space. It is even not visible when I preview the print before printing (again from model or paper). And on different layouts the line moves and sometimes doubles.
I have done all the regular things - all layers on, all unfrozen, all visible, etc, I've purged, regened, made a save as file, gone to another persons computer but still the same problem.

Mar 3, 2013I have drawn a site plan in model space at 1to1 scale. I try to draw hidden lines to show demolition. In paper space the scale is set to 1"=50" to fit on paper. But all the hidden lines plot solid. I had changed LTSCALE, PSLTSCALE, to 1. This problem keeps happening in most every thing I draw.

AutoCad :: Exploding Text / Lines Appear Inside Text Like In Image
Oct 23, 2011I am often using text within AutoCAD 2012. Here is what I do, look at the attachments:
1. Create the text using the mtext tool
2. Explode the text using the txtexp tool
But, when I explode the text, lines appear inside the text like in the image. I then have to explode the whole thing and delete these lines manually. Any tool or add-on to get around this annoyance every time I insert text.

When I put the text centered, however, PSP is added an extra space to the end of text, so when I center it on the canvas the text is actually off-center to the left. When I go into edit the text, there is no space on the right of the words to delete.
With the text selected this is how it looks: The right edge of the frame should be flush with the right edge of the last 'T'.

Jul 11, 2011I have a radius that is spread between 10 and 40 degrees that I need to evenly space 6 line segments throughout.
What this is for is a property with 5 lots along a curved street. Each lot is the same size and I am trying to draw just the sections that are affected. I have tried using the star feature and reducing it to single lines, but they do not space evenly and getting the line number is very difficult. I have tried dividing the angle range and come up with the correct angle and spacing but this is also an issue. Is there any way to do this without dragging each line separately?

position, as in photo 1
when i preview it in the plot preview the text box is vertical. the drawing plots out that way too. In the properties box the rotation is grayed out.

Dec 26, 2013I have done a drawing of some house plans. I am now trying to enter text in model space, but when i enter it, it appears very small at 2.5, only if i enter at 500 it appears ok. In the layout tab the text at 500 appears very large, and when i enter 2.5 it appears ok. I have not made any changes anywhere.

Aug 15, 2013just wondering if any of you know the command that I can use in order to align my text in papr space. I'm running 2011 and 2013 C3D. I have several callouts that are in a row, and I COULD draw a line straight down and just move them all to it, but that's a very inefficient way of getting this done. At the last company I worked, we had a command in the system simply called LINEUP that would align any text we wanted either horizontally or vertically. If this is a button I can create with code or whatever, I could try to do that too, if necessary. Just might take me a while to do the code, but I know there's a more efficient way of performing this task.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Model Space Text Appearance
Mar 1, 2013How to rectify my model space text issues for a set of drawings. There are approximately 12 drawings which all have the same problem. I have not seen this problem in other drawings.
The text in model space appears bold and rough. I have checked that all the text is set on the 0 Z plane. I have taken the following corrective actions and have not had success:
-Confirmed text is at Z=0
-Reset the UCS to world
-Changed the Z coordinate to arbitrary number and set it back to 0
-Checked that drawing & viewports are 2-D Wireframe
-Other Desperate Measures: Purged, Audited, Created in PS then move to MS
We had a CAD temp. that set up the drawings who is no longer with us, so I have clue what he did to the drawings when setting them up.
AutoCad 2D :: Text Displayed Thick In Model Space
Apr 23, 2011Text in the model space is displayed annoyingly thick. It was always ok but something changed beyond of my knowledge in one particular project only. Can't change it back, it plots ok though.
You can compare the pictures: two different files with absolutely identical text settings... And, when I try to choose between text styles in text properties it says "The current style has been modified..." although I did not! I think both things are related some how...

Anyway, I can't seem to be able to type anything in text or mtext windows. I either have my keyboard input ignored completely, or I get blank spaces, depending on what font I choose. Disabling the Aero themes don't work. All runs fine in a XP virtual machine, but more slowly.
AutoCad 2D :: Block Text When Converting From Paper Space DWG To PDF
Jul 13, 2012I created a legend in the Block Editor which obviously requires text. I inputted the block into paper space because it's easier to input it into paper space for location purposes on the drawing.
Everything was fine, but when I went to plot it (by converting it from .dwg to .pdf), the pdf showed the text plotting vertically (down to up) instead of horizontally (left to right). I've checked the properties of the text, nothing is glaringly wrong, and since it only appears after being plotted to .pdf, I'm not really sure what the problem is.
Are there restrictions to adding blocks to paper space that I'm unaware of?
