AutoCad :: PDF Printing In Color Despite CTB Settings

Nov 30, 2011

We've got a couple machines here that are plotting all PDFs in color regardless of the CTB settings that print B&W on other machines. AutoCAD 2012. Same dwg files and CTB files (from the network) and same machine setup (hardware). know of any check boxes, radio buttons, system variables, etc... that can cause this?

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Color Settings For CMYK Printing

Feb 2, 2013

Ideal color settings for exporting .jpg and .eps files for CMYK printing? The default X6 settings result in rather washed out looking exports (both on the screen and on the prints). Black looks very dark grey etc.

Never had this issue with X3 but I understand that X6 uses a totally different color engine so I figure I just need to know the correct settings.

Photoshop :: Color Settings Grayed Out In Print Settings

Feb 23, 2012

Photoshop CS5 v12.1.
Mac OS 10.6.
I'm printing to an Epson R1800 printer.

Print. Choose Color Management. Choose Document. Choose "Photoshop manages color". Choose the correct printer profile that matches the paper I'm using. Choose Relative Colorimetric.

THEN, I click Print Settings...under the 4th drop downu I choose "Print setting..." again. Under "Basic" "color" and "Color settings" are grayed out as are some of the "Media Type" options.

Is this normal? The problem is my black and white prints are printing really badly. They have color tones. I've cleaned the nozzles on my Epson printer, done everything the print utility suggests. All the test prints look fine.

Photoshop :: CS3 And Printing Settings Win XP

Jun 10, 2008

Ive just updated my software from Photoshop 6 to CS3 (with updates), everything is fine apart from the printing.

Originally when i went to print to my Epson C2600N colour laser printer from Photoshop 6, the print dialog box would come up and I could then select 600dpi and print and the document would come out perfectly.

However now with CS3, it does not give me the option of selecting 600dpi in any place in the print dialog boxes (I have tried to change it manually within the Epson preferences), and I always get a very poor quality printout.

Is there a work around to this?

After experimenting, I have found that if I go to the File-> Print -> print output -> screen... option, and select 'auto' and use the settings in there the image will print out perfectly.
But is there anyway to save these settings as a default so that when I load Photoshop CS3 they will always be loaded and so I dont have to go through changing the settings everytime?

Lightroom :: Change Printer Settings Without Printing?

Sep 28, 2013

To create a new template one has to go through the "Printer..." dialog to change the paper size. Unfortunately, the only way to actually SAVE the new settings is to click OK, which causes Lightroom to print the current image.  In all other programs, the "Printer..." dialog is used only to adjust settings.  In Lightroom it seems to serve as a "Print" dialog as well.  On Windows this violates long-standing UI function guidelines embodied by pretty much all other software.

A concrete example:

I needed to create a new template to print on 8-1/2 x 11 paper.  To do so, I created a new template while in an existing template for 8x10. This copies the settings to the new template, but one cannot adjust the cell size to anything larger than 8x10.  So I went to the "Printer...:" dialog to change the paper size.  However, when clicking OK on the "Printer..." dialog, to save the new paper size, Lightroom starts printing the current image.

What should happen is that the settings are saved and no printing starts.  Printing should occur only when I click on "Print".

Unless I've missed something and there's a way to change paper size, color profile, paper type, etc. (all the things you can change on the printer driver's dialog) from within Lightroom without invoking "Printer..."?

Photoshop :: CS5 - Printing Correct Dimensions (Paper Settings A4)

May 3, 2012

I'm using CS5 on Windows. I created a photoshop file using the International Paper settings A4, which is 297 by 210 and 150 pixels per inch.

I've used the whole area around the document but I left around a 5mm margin around the edge of the document. When I come to print the document does not appear to be scaled correctly in the print preview, and then when I come to print on A4 paper measuring exactly 297 x 210 a large part of the image is chopped off at the bottom.

Why Photoshop seems to indicate it is a 297 x 210 file but when it comes to printing it is not scaled correctly?

CorelDRAW X4 :: Printing Spot Color Seps With Color Name On Each Page

Dec 23, 2011

We print out spot color seps every day using CorelDraw X4. After we print out the plates, I have to cut down the vellum that we print on so that we do not have a bunch of extra blank vellum on the sheet.

We make use of the info that is printed on the lower left of every page where it states something like the following:

S:DirectoryWhereTheArtworkisLocatedfilename.cdr

Wednesday, December 23, 2011  8:00 AM

Plate: 1 of 3

After I cut down the sheet, I then have to hand write the name of the spot color onto the sheet of vellum in marker.

Is there any way at all, to make it so that CorelDraw would actually add the name of the spot color that is printed on each page to the information that is already being printed to the lower left? Ideally, it could be placed in the same area where it's already printing the plate information on the last line.

Could it read:

Plate: 1 of 3  Color: Pantone 375

AutoCad :: Printing Proposed In Color?

Dec 8, 2011

I was wondering if there is a way to print proposed lines in color, yet still have everything else print in monochrome.

Currently we print using monochrome, but would like to have our proposed line work stand out even more by selecting them, and having them print out in color.

Is there a way to do this without having to set all the other layers to a grey scale manually.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Layer Manager - Color Settings

May 12, 2011

I have a file where the layer manager does not seam to be contorling the bylayer color settings.  When I change the color in the layer manager everything seams to work fine.  But when I try to creat objects on this layer they we not use the color that I set.  They use the original color that the layer was set to.  In the ribbon the color default is set to by layer.  One interesting thing is that when I pull down the layer menu in the ribbon it will show the old color.

In fact the work around is to change the layer color from this menu and not the layer manager.  This is the only drawing I have that exhibits this behavior. Any system variable that would cause this or is this just a coruption of this file.  (I ran audit, closed autcad and restarted, verified that all objects are set to manage colors bylayer, default ribbon palets are set to bylayer).

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Match Color Print Quality With In-canvas Lighting Settings

Nov 13, 2012

Is there a way to control color print quality that matches the in-canvas look of a part or assembly.

As a quick example, I have a Kelly Green wire visible within an assembly.  When I print the assembly within a .idw drawing file, the Kelly Green turns very dark.

Is it possible to specify a particular lighting setting to be used when printing? I'm expecting to see color print output that matches closely to what I see when viewing either a model or an assembly.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Printing Color In Isometric And Plan View

Oct 31, 2013

From my project manager > views, I select a view, it opens in model. I change to paper space and have my plan and an isometric view (in wire frame).  I go to view and select shaded with edges. Perfect, colors on both plan and isometric are where I want them, now I want to print this.

I select my print icon and change my paper size select my printer. I select extents, center the plot and fit to paper. I preview.. And my color disappears. What.. Am I doing wrong. Should I be making my paper representations from a different start?

Yesterday.. I was trying to do the same thing.. But starting with the drawing in constructs. I end up with the same, my isometric drawing looses most of its color, the windows have color as does one layer (a line showing the outline of the floor under). The plan drawing has most of the colors but some of the layers are black where in the model they have color. To further complicate the problem.. The same procedure making a first floor drawing has the plan in complete color.

2. When trying to set color setting with our profile, it says it is not supported by this version of Photoshop (CS6). It will set this to "Custom" instead of G7 Workflow. What can we do to fix this issue? Please see below for the screen captures.

Photoshop :: Color Management Settings

Jul 18, 2009

I'm not sure what to set my color management settings up as!  I've been told a few different things!  I shoot in Adobe RGB, but I've been told to set my working space to SRGB and then to set the color management policies to "Convert to working RGB, CMYK, and Gray."  Then I've also been told to set the working space to Adobe RGB (1998) and then under "coversion options"  change the "intent" to "perceptual."  Regardless of which setting I try to use, the coloring when I view it in Photoshop is much more yellow than when I view it on my monitor.  I have callibrated my monitor, so I'm assuming the problem is within Photoshop.  How do I fix this so that the colors match?

Photoshop :: Color Settings Issue

Jul 27, 2008

I am using CS3 under Vista Ultimate.

1. When I customise my color settings the customisarion is not sticking - that is, when I save the customisation, close the settings box and reopen it - the settings have returned to North America General Purpose 2. Similarly, if I load a customised setting it has always reverted to North American General Purpose 2 when I next look at the color settings.

2. For reasons I don't understand, recent photos have started to look over saturated with a blue shift when I Save (them) For The Web. My work is all for the internet and my workflow is all sRGB. That's why I am surprised by the colour problem. It's definitely something to do with the colour profile of the photo I am working on - when I take photos I have worked on a few weeks ago there is no colour shift when I Save for Web. I have converted the problem photo to sRGB but that has not solved the problem. I know I'm doing something dumb but I can't work out what it is or how to rescue the photo I have been working on.

Photoshop :: Color Settings Do Not Persist

May 11, 2009

I close and reopen Photoshop (CS4) it seems to revert to using sRGB as Working Space, and Preserve Embedded Profiles for all three types of color file. I have to go into Color Setttings and change these settings to what I want. I know hae them in a Settings fiile, so it's not hard, but often I forget and find myself working in the wrong colorspace for days before I discover it. Why doesn't PS leave my settings as the default the next time it opens? Do I have to go somewhere else to choose my settings as default? That would seem like very clusmy design on Abode's part. Another thing that seems annoying:  at the top of the dialog it says "Unsynchronized:  Your Creative Suite applications are not synchronized for consistent color."
