AutoCad :: Displaying Distance In Command Line?
Jan 6, 2012i have been using the DI command to get line lengths (of road widths, that sort of thing), and in the command line, it just gives the X, Y and Z distances, and not the actual length of the line.
how to change the displayed information so that the length of the line drawn with DI shows in the command line?
Also is there an option to choose what is displayed in the command line with DI command?

Mar 14, 2013When programming in Autolisp, I like to view the values set to my variables so you type an exclamation point followed by the variable name on the command line to have it display the value. My command line will not display the value. I have to hit the F2 key to bring up the text window to view it. how to get the command line to view this information? We have other computers that show it, but mine will not.

Sep 30, 2013When I toggle PICKSTYLE with CTRL+H... I see no command line confirmation for the change. Currently using ACAD 2012 (coming from 2010).
Is there another SYSVAR which controls what the command line displays in occasions such as this? Something along the lines of CMDECHO?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: R / W Lines In Sections Not Displaying?
Jan 25, 2013I have R/W and Utility lines that I am trying to display in my cross-sections. I add them as Profile Grade Points to the Sample Lines. This works well in 4 out of 5 of my corridor drawings, however, 1 of the files does not display these lines in the cross-sections. I already checked turned-off layers and that's not it. When I check the individual Section View Properties, these alignments (& corresponding profiles) show up in the list, just not on the actual cross-section.

Apr 22, 2013Suddenly, the multi line text editor in no longer displaying when I select "new" from within the DIMEDIT command. I'm presuming that there is some sort of system variable that controls this, but I have not been able to find it in the help files. The Mtext editor is working from the Mtext command, so I know it's not the DTEXTED variable.

Aug 13, 2012I have a drawing of an assembly and have a sectioned view so as to see the internals. The assembly is very long so I've used 3 breaks to shorten it to fit the page. What I'm wanting to do is create a sketch and project the geometries of several parts so I can fill them in with color. The problem I'm having is when I click the lines I want projected, the lines don't form over the part but form where I assume they would be if there were no breaks on the view. I do this all the time and it works fine, but it's usually with only 1 break. I'm thinking it's the 3 breaks that are causing the problem.

Jan 10, 2012It shows the old position of lines after a zoom, or rotate or move, etc. And it shows half of my dimension values.
Also I seem to have some ghost projections of assembly parts when I do the assembly tutorials.
Like holes and wire frames on strange places on my screen.
I have to zoom in and out randomly and wish for it to go away at some point..
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Corridor Section Editor Not Displaying Daylight Lines To EG Surface
Jul 13, 2012I'm having a random issue with the daylight ties lopes not tieing to the EG surface at all stations in the Corridor Section Editor. Some stations daylight fine. In plan view the daylight lines vary left & right as expected but don't display at all in Section Editor.
Some background info:2012 Civil 3D SP1 / 64 bit / WIN7Simple corridor used1 alignmentSame fg profileSame drefd EG surface (set all targets for daylight LT/RT)Only one assembly applied to entire corridor Attached are 2 captions of the issue I'm having which each have a cut & fill occurrence as well as a caption of the entire align. & corridor. I did try deleting corridor & recreating and even recreated a simpler assembly and still have the daylight issue in same areas of corridor.
Illustrator :: Command F - Copy In Front Displaying A Signature
Oct 15, 2012I have illustrator cs6 on mac OSX 10.8.2 and when I hit command f .. for copy in front .. i get a text box with my signature and address in it. I cant remember assigning command F ever to this? but maybe I did many years ago. As I am just delving into illustrator, it has never been an issue but obviously, now it is. I have looked at edit>keyboard shortcuts but am unfamiliar with it and so dont want to mess with it. How to get command F to function as it should?

Mar 5, 2005I entered a long sentence in Text Command and only 1st half is being shown. If I click T and select all it shows all the words, but normal select mode only half is being displayed.
Is it masked ?
Its like the other half of the text is invinsible.

Oct 1, 2013When I initiate the trim command with a double enter (i.e. select all mode), I usually first zoom into the area I want to trim so I see no other objects, then start the trim <Enter><Enter> option, then pick the lines I want to trim. Even if these extend off the screen and cross other objects (not seen on the screen), they usually trim off completely. However, on occassion they don't. To replicate the problem try this:
Draw 2 vertical lines and 2 horizontal intersecting (like noughts and crosses)Draw a horizontal line that intersects both vertical lines but up near the top of those linesZoom in so you only see the square and extending lines (but not the short horizontal line)Trim <Enter> <Enter> and pick from bottom right to top left (i.e. around the squareZoom out.
The square is trimmed, however there are 2 line fragments left above the horizontal short line.
Fix: UndoTrim the same way and presto, it now works I found if I then moved the line above (so only a small amount), zoomed in again, tried to trim - same error.

Mar 11, 2013We recently upgraded to Autocad Architecture 2013 and the trim command is driving me mental. Lets say I have a window mullion pattern with 4 intersecting lines and I want to trim out the center. (see attached example) I start the trim command, then right to left window to select the 4 lines, then use another right to left selection window to trim out the lines. It always leaves on of the lines leaving me to have to click one more time. This is a huge pain when you have to do this multiple times. That is a lot of extra clicks. What gives? I never had this issue before.

Sep 24, 2012I produce a lot of "Exploded View" style drawings for our equipment for assembly drawings and Operators Manuals. I model everything in 3D, set the perspective view, adjust the view I like, then use the Flatshot command to make 2D lines and arcs verions of the view to put into paperspace. Then item bubbles, notes, whatever. as of the last week, my flatshots, if they include a hex bolt head in the view, the arcs on the faces of the flats will be really stretched and skewed decidley toward the vanishing point in the completion of the Flatshot command. It does not happen on other arcs that may be in the model, seems to be exclusive with the hex. I doesn't happen if I do not make the view pespective but leave it "Parallell".

Then I go on to use the OVERKILL command which works very well.

Mar 30, 2012I used the "break" command to split some lines into segments, but now I can not join them again using PEDIT. They are all on the same elevation. What is preventing me from joining them? I've attached the file in question, I'm trying to join the red (metal layer) lines.

Jun 9, 2012When I use the move command to, let's say, to move a floor plan (drag to new location on the page), some of the lines in the "moved" floor plan are either skewed or missing. I'm able to "cut and paste" as welll as "copy with basepoint" w/out problem.

Aug 5, 2013I have text from dt command, circle and leader line. After selecting them I use the copy command and starte pasting all over my drawing. Probable about 6 copies. about 3 or 4 of them end up not being able to select them. So if i want to edit the text, move all three entities or just delete them i cant. I figured out the only way to delete these "unselectable" objects i copied is to only have that layer on, type selectall and delete. Why this happens and why if i did 6 pastes it only happens to 3 or 4 of them? does it have to do with feature lines? I do have 3d lines in this dwg but i should still be able to select what i copied.

Other layers and color remains the same. If I change color property of "Layer 0" form "By Layer" to a specific color such as red, yellow they are also remain the same.

Nov 11, 2012I'm working on a project that details with topo lines. I have the contours, however because I imported them as DWG's from sketchup they're a bit messy. Basically, instead of being one continuous line, their endpoints intersect and overlap, making it look very messy. Is there anyway I could delete these extra lines? I tried the overkill command to no avail.
