AutoCad :: Ceramic Wall And Floor Tiling

Feb 21, 2010

I am currently drawing plan/elevations of a bathroom and I want to tile the walls and floor.

Is there a quick way to tile a specified area? I know about copying a tile and then copying groups of tiles etc. I have even tried hatching the area with a tile pattern but you cannot edit each tile this way.

AutoCad :: Getting Floor In One Layer And Wall In The Other?

I've just started creating layers for different parts of my drawing. I have 2 layers so far. One for the floor and one for the walls. When I switch between the layers both the floor and the walls are in the same layer. How do I keep the floor in one layer and the wall in the other?

Revit :: Exterior Wall With Exposed Floor

Nov 12, 2011

I am currently modeling a 2-Story Home. I have everything modeled the way I want it, but when I go to the elevations I see a gap where the siding and the sheathing don't touch between floors.

My exterior walls:

Core: 3 1/2" stud + 1/2" SheathingExterior: Air Barrier + 3/4" SidingInterior: 1/2" Gyp BdMy floors: Main:
Core: 3/4" Sub-Floor + 11 7/8" TJI + 1 1/2" Rim-JoistMy Floors: SecondCore: 3/4" Sub-Floor + 11 7/8" TJI

The floors are modeled to the stud to allow sheathing and siding to extend. I knew of this situation beforehand because tutorials on the interwebs say this is the way to combat your problem:

I go into the my exterior wall, select edit type, edit structure, (set preview to section) select siding, and then zoom in on the bottom of the wall in the section preview. The bottom of the siding highlights and a "unlock" toggle appears. I unlock it. I do the same to the sheathing. Then I go to my elevations, cut a section, and zoom in to extend the sheathing and siding.

Side Bar: Why don't the two extend independently? They should.

To the top of wall below.

Revit :: Interlocking Floor And Wall Layers At Junction?

Mar 30, 2013

How to accomplish, and I've searched various places, is how to have a layered floor structure dovetail into a layered wall construction.

I have a cavity wall construction with inner leaf of blockwork - and an intermediate floor slab - concrete precast slabs with insulation and screed on.

The construction in Revit defaults to the whole floor structure finishing at the internal face of the wall. I need the slab layer of the floor to project into the inner blockwork, whilst having the other floor construction layers finishing flush with the wall. This needs to occur at the support end of the slab only rather than around the whole floor perimeter.

I'm working on a single wall type spanning ground floor up to the underside of the roof - should I be using separate walls for each floor ? (I read somewhere that it is advisable to break wall types by floor as costs may be different).

How to solve this problem of 'Flattening a large 3d model (hospital ground floor) to a 2d floor plan drawing'. The 3d model was made in Rhino and I saved it as a .dwg file because Rhino kept crashing with the command 'make 2d' (file too large maybe :/).

I don't know AutoCAD 3d so now, I'm trying to just change the line layers and eventually plot it all, but sometimes when I save the progress.... AutoCAD will delete sections of my work sometimes :/

Revit :: How To Get Wall Sweep Set Up In Type / Structure Properties To Wall Profile Has Changed

Apr 12, 2012

Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed.  For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet.  How do i get my wall cap to follow along?  I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no.  And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

Revit :: Bulkhead Wall Join Skews Bottom Of Existing Wall

Jul 25, 2013

I have to draw a bulkhead wall that connects to a full height wall and a gyp bd ceiling.  This causes the entire end of the full height wall to skew in line with the butt joint above the ceiling level.  I tried Wall Joins but all the options screw up the bottom half of the wall which needs to remain in line with the paired opposite.  I also tried editing the sketch of the wall profile but Revit couldn't keep the elements joined.  I tried trimming the two walls back together afterwards but the wall profile dominates and prevents a clean join above the ceiling.

Surely there's a way to have different kinds of joins at different heights?

Photoshop :: Slices For Tiling

Jul 20, 2007

I'm trying to take a big image and break it up into a lot of tiles. I know I can create horizontal and vertical guides and then make slices from those guides and then save each slice as a separate image all at once, but the thing is - that would require me to make a LOT of guides. I have a 1600x1600 image and would need 31 guides across and 31 guides down. (which makes 32 images up and down dimensions-wise) I will be dealing with bigger images. I can't do this for each one.

Is there an easy way to do this? Is there an easy way to tell Photoshop "make a horizontal guide every 50 pixels up to down, and, make a vertical guide every 50 pixels left to right"? I know there are separate programs that will do this like Split and Tile, but I don't want to have to pay for one.

I know C++ and thought about reading the data from bmp files to make my own program to do this, but the pixel data inside BMP files seems to be organized in an odd way. Like, the hexadecimal values are backwards and I don't know what the gibberish in the beginning of the BMP file is for.

3ds Max :: Bezier Float And UV Tiling?

Jan 29, 2013

controlling a bitmap's tiling amount with a Bezier Float node in the slate material editor.

If I link a bezier float controller to the tile size of a normal bitmap (non real-world scale) it works as expected, i.e. if I set it to 4, then the bitmap tiles 4 times.

However if I link the float controller to a bitmap set to real-world scale, then it seems to work in reverse. i.e. if I set the float controller to 5, then the UV size appears as 0.005m, and if I set the bezier float controller to 0.005, then the UV scale size is set to 5.0m.

It seams as though in the second example MAX is taking the bezier float value, using it as a tile amount, then just for display purposes it converts it to a real-world size. I can work with it now that I know what it is doing, but it is a little unintuitive.
