The file was originally created with Autocad 2010 in 2011. i would post the file but it is a customer print and i cannot disclose it here. we are now running up-to-date autocad 2013. this is not a problem with other files i have had to work with (older and newer). just seemds to be a localized event and am wondering if it is that something is corrupt.
I recently switched to a new machine and manually copied and pasted my custom settings over and set paths to the new location. Everything seems to work fine except when I click on "Plot Stamp Settings".I receive an error that says "Data Link Files" and sometimes it says "LISP".
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Windows 7 machine running AutoCAD 2013. When trying to open any drawings from our AutoDesk Vault 2013 server, AutoCAD will hard lock/freeze and can only be closed by using Windows Task Manager. When accessing the same files through the Vault first, without opening AutoCAD, they open with no issues.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with our new 2013 Theres a long time delay before the File menu wether you hover over it or click on the file button. Same if you use the Autodesk top left button
All the others act as expected i.e. edit, view, insert etc
This is really causing a loss of productivity through the time delay and extreme frustration waiting for it to click in
In C3D (2012 or 2013), the Pipe Properties Dialog reports "Hydraulic Properties" of a pipe section. Through .Net (C#), I can access part data such as Hydraulic gradient etc but I cannot seem to find any reference to three members I see on the mentioned dialog aka "Flow Rate", "Junction loss" and "Return period".
I have "fudged" a term "Flow Rate" into the pipe part parameter definition file (AeccPartParamCfg.xml) and can access that programmatically but I think this "Flow Rate" in the Pipe Properties Dialog" is part of the Auotcad database and I cannot seem to find a route to get hold of it.
I have just switched over to 2014 and i cannot for the life of me get my batch plot to plot PDF's to a single file! Instead, it's printing all 37 layouts separate. I tried switching between multi-file & single file in the publish options, but nothing!
i know that it took me a while to perfect my settings the last time i set up a new version, but i am struggling to work it out now.
In Autocad Architectural 2012 if I typed 'wall' I would get several options for walls. If I selected 'A' (add) it would bring up the properties panel and draw the necessary walls. This does not work in Architectural 2013. Where to I access the wall/window/door pallet?

I'm creating/selecting plot settings and apply them to my layouts.
The problem is when I open the plot dialog, the name of the page setup is not displayed. when I select the page setup name just created from the combobox, the setup is applied but the name still missing.
But this issue only combined with the new plot settings created in program. The existing page setups manually added from plot dialog are ok.The difference between the two type of plot settings is the .ISMODIFIED property is true for new settings but false for existing settings.
How can I make the plot settings not modified.
I've made some customisation in the ribbon of a 2013LT version.
Now some customisation functions are only available on the Full, so I download and install it but I can't find a way to import all those custom settings grom LT to Full...
Seems it works only from LT to LT or Full to Full..
Just upgraded a user to Autodesk Building Design Suite Premium 2013 but AutoCad 2013 and AutoCad MEP 2013 are not saving settings.
On first use the crosshair is large and angled, not standard. If I run "Rest values to default" then the settings are standard until I either restart AutoCAD or open a drawing then have the same strange cross hair.
Have tried creating a new profile, setting it as default startup profile by altering the shortcut but no matter what settings are not saved and revert to strange cross hair once AutoCAD is re-opened or a drawing is opening. If logon to computer as a user without a roaming profile all works fine.
Happens every year. Upgrade and spend half a day or more trying to get everything back to the way I had it. All I have is a couple small toolbars for commands that are several clicks deep in the ribbons and I want them "right there" all the time.
I thought Autodesk 360 might be a good tool for this. All it did was DOWNLOAD some old settings and destroy one of the toolbars I'd created. They really need an override in there to specify upload, download, overwrite or don't.
I'm trying to migrate (I guess that's the technical term) my settings from 2013 Mechanical to 2014 Mechanical. It's probably too late already, after 360 did its deal, but I really want to get this down so we don't go through it every year anymore.
I maintain that PTC had this part of it down Pro/ENGINEER. You had a config file that was editable plain text.

I’m trying to create a plot command that reads settings in from a variable stored in a text file but its becoming muddled up somewhere.

I have one drawing per file at model tab. When I need to plot a multiple page file, I use:
Print > Batch Plot.
The problem is that I have to set plot configurations ( plot style table, plot area, paper size, etc) in each file before use Batch Plot.
Now I received 722 files with a wrong Plot Style Table. For this time I change the associated *.ctb file at Plot Style folder, but I will need to associate the right *.ctb to each drawing. It's also common to have to change other properties.
Is there a macro/script/deisel that will automatically print a pdf (cute pdf autocad lt 2007) to current plot settings in current drawing directory and give it the current drawing view name and number? Disk space not a problem these days and would save time to have a pdf copy of all drawing tabs readily stored in the directory ready for issue.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to plot a drawing as a PDF (to send to customers, vendors, etc.) and not have the PDF able to be converted back to a DWG (as so many programs out there are able to do).
View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue where the .ctb works in some paper space tabs and not in others. When we do the plot preview on one tab the line weight is correctly shown, and when we go to a different tab, the preview displays colors and no line weight. We tried this on two separate machines both running the same operating system, AutoCad 2013 and using the same .ctb.. We tried creating a new copy of the ctb. There must be a setting that is different in the viewports, but I can not figure out what it is.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI only revised the text on my drawing and wanted to reprint my layout, but the 3D view disappears when I change the "view type" and will not plot. After hitting "regen" command several times, the 3D view types finally appear but are not even accurate - "Shades of Gray" is showing as "Sketchy", etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched over to 2013. I am trying to make a 2d drawing from a 3d model. In past releases I always would plot to DXB and select hidden plot style. In this 2013 I select hidden but it does not hide anything. Is there a new way to acheive this in 2013.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLets say that I want d drawing to be printed on scalw 1:50 why do I need to input at the plot properties 20mm to 1 unit in order to get it correct?
Also different question. If i want to print on paper roll and the one dimension of my drawing is 297 (A3) and the other dimension is undifined how can i set the paper size? Because under the drop down menu paper size the sizes are all fixed.
I have a drawing that refuses to plot the raster image when i plot to a PDF. It will plot the raster when I send it to the plotter. The raster is visible in the print preview. I've tried using the Adobe PDF driver and the DWG to PDF.pc3.
All I get is the line work.
Plot tranparency is off. Image is at Brightness 50, Contrast 50, Fade 0.
Autocad Map3d 2013
I have just started using 2013, and everything works just fine, with the exception of trying to plot. I am able to plot to PDF, but if I try to send a job to any of my network printers/plotters, AutoCAD crashes.
I am on a Dell Optiplex 990, Windows 7 Pro, 32bit, Intel Core i7 proc, 8GB RAM
I use .STB Plot Style more often (as our Standard Format) which is easy to use for me, and once in a while use .CTB plot style. Since .CTB are more often use by others, and would like to develop a new standard layering format.advantages and disadvantages or differentiate of this two plot style in its actual application.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I am supposed to specify the PDF printer in the Page Setup or the upper left of the batch plot dialog box.
Also, why is it that every time I open batch plot it loads all the current layout tabs in the drawing (which I dont care about). How do i open batch plot and specify my sheet list and not have to "replace all sheets"/
I want to print out several layouts as a batch. when i do this to a printer to obtain paper copies it works out ok, however when i do it to a PDF format it chops the top of the drawing off which is most annoying as i often end up having to do each drawing individually to a pdf.
