AutoCad 2D :: Dimension Arrow - Block Rotated
Aug 17, 2012As you can see in this picture, I have made an iso arrow and then block it, but when I want to use it in the Dimension arrow (user arrow)the block is rotated.

View 3 RepliesI have a set of Rotated Dimensions in paperspace that are graphically offset from their associated points. I have not made any changes to the viewport, model or dimensions for this layout since the last time they displayed properly. In other words I found them like this when I opened the drawing this morning.
See attached image.
Command: list

DIMENSION Layer: "A-ANNO-DIMS"
Space: Paper space
Layout: ramp layout
Handle = a433

I have not touched AutoCAD for quite some time and I just got back on it today.
For some reason, I cannot seem to be able to get the arrow at both end when I am drawing dimensions. Also, no text (unit) is shown is arrow either...
I loaded the template: Tutorial-mArch.dwt

PS: I am drawing a front fence for the front of the house I am about to renovate...
This is not exactly a CAD issue but I use Inventor at times to create illustrations for math stuff. Is there a way to place a dimension like an arrow with x and y as text.

I'm trying to flip an arrow head dimension so that it appears within the two dimension lines pointing outwards. I understand that in previous versions of AutoCAD you could just right click -> flip arrow heads, but this version (AutoCAD Electrical 2014) seems to lack this feature...

I am as-building some model space drawings. Client wants model space. I am trying to determine how to size the text and dimensions.
Ex: drawing 1/2" =1'-0", I scaled the drawing bdr up 24 times. What is the right sizing for text, dims. Arrows to get 1/8" text, etc? So far the arrow heads look to tiny.c
I have to collect all the Dimension arrowheads(usually close filled type) present in the modelspace ,and change the type to DOT.. Im using COM APi.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 dimension styles, but for one, I can't change the arrowhead
In the attachment, there are 2 dimensions, one of each style. The left one works good, the right one doesn't reflect any changes to arrows (type, size).
I'm drawing a setting-out plan for landscape construction purposes and need the dimensions to have an arrow in the middle of the dimension line to indicate to the contractor the route to follow around site.

Somehow I switched my UCS without noticing from X,Y,X to Z,Y,X. Though the UCS was changed my layout never switched orientation (flat square remained flat square and did not turn into a line).
I was alerted to the error when inserting the blocks. Half of the blocks were showing up as thin lines (in the Z plane) and half where showing up in the X plane.
I was able to correct the UCS by typing UCS, world view, then PLAN, current.
My question now: How can I fix the blocks that where "created" in the Z plane so that they can be inserted into the X plane without having to 'rotate3d' every time I insert a block?
I have recently started using Architect 2012. We use Architectural Tick for dimensioning.
The problem is the Architectural Tick arrow is not coming in at the proper scale (Arrow head size = 3/32", dimscale varies). The arrow head seems to be out by a scale factor of 25.4 (found by trial and error).
If so is there a software patch or workaround. Can the Architectural Tick block be edited and if so where is it?
(using Windows 7 - 64bit)
We have some blocks that have static text labels on the left and numeric attributes on the right. When these blocks are rotated so the text is near vertical the static text has a bold appearance.
If you explode/burst the block then this 'bold' appearance goes away. If you rotate the text to normal then the effect disappears as well. The bold appearance shows up on a plot as well. The effect is subtle at times but noticeable.
Sample drawing attached, see the block near the top of the drawing and a copy of it rotated to normal. Use the BURST command on the block on the left to see the change.
Well I created this dynamic block, and within the block is a pull-down to change the style of arrow from a custom version to spline or straight. Everthing works fine and look great in the drawing. But when I use the the Spline arrow it will show up correct graphically but will plot as two straight lines with an arrow which totally defeats the purpose. I have attached the block here. I checked this on C3D11 and LDD08 and they both have the same issue so it's more than likely an ACAD thing.

I am trying to put a polar stretch on the block uploaded, but it doesn't seems to work (maybe because of my constraint? ). If something major is wrong with it, is there another way I can make the same drawing proportional when i rotate it and stretch it ? Also, after that I have to use it for vlisp.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a model of arrow with which I could place in drawing in any length and orientation I want with lisp. I was imaging to place two point on this arrow and by placing the two points on my drawing, the length and orientation of the arrow would be define.
I'm trying for hours to create it and my grip for polar stretching don't stay still on my arrow (suppose to be on the peak but go far if I stretch it).
Why my Block command does not work anymore?
I type in the command ( I'm an old school typer, hate the buttons ) BLOCK....then the next thing that happens is (after hitting enter of course), my crosshairs instantly turn into the Windows arrow.
I wasn't playing with any switches. I was just trying to make a little block with a number in it.
Yes, I restarted AutoCAD, restarted the computer, did not reload in AutoCAD.....AutoCAD 2011 by the way.
I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
I have to do a WBLOCK to make the blocks I need to bypass this odd behavior.
why doesn't the arrow leader disappear when I flip my arrow direction to the inside..

I am having issues with a dynamic block I came up with. I cannot get the dimension label to stay inside the dynamic block at all scales. I have attached a file showing the issue. How to force the actual measurment to be inside the block bounds. It works fine at some scales, but at others (smaller scales) the measurment/text gets kicked outside.
View 0 Replies View RelatedI am making a template file having title block with fields. I use this template for creating layouts and sheets using Sheet Set Manager and the fields will be updated from the data of SSM. Now i would like to add a dynamic north block to my template. The block could be rotated (i have this block in file itself) and rotation angle could be inserted. Now how can i add a custom field to SSM so that i could set a rotation angle for the project and thus every new layout or sheet created using the template has the north block rotated with the angle mentioned in SSM.
Here is the file...........
I have this north arrow that is not working in a clients drawing. Look at this drawing with the block in it and determine why the arrow head is filled in the block editor but not filled in the drawing (model space)???
View 3 Replies View Related How to make an attribute block that contains a dimension?
I’m wondering if there is a way to create an attribute block that contains the particular text and the value of the dimension length. More specifically, in the screenshot below in need to show the steel bars (as an attribute) along with the value of the dimension of the bar such that in case the block is stretched then the value of the dimension length changes. I think the block itself needs to be dynamic.
The issue here is having an attribute for the “steel bar type” and its length. The “steel bar type” must be editable while the length must be written automatically to reflect the length of the bar.

In the screenshot below, the default direction of dimensions constrains are given in the direction of digitizing (by design)

I'm trying to get the dimension text that I pull out to the side closer to the actual dimension marks. The 2 1/2" and 2" shown have a minimum distance they can get toward their dimensions. I would like it to be about half of what it is, but so far I haven't been able to find the property that changes that.
