Jan 25, 2013In some drawing I checked the color and lineweight in the Properties but it says By Layer and By Block. How will i know the real color and lineweight?

Mar 15, 2012Is there a way to set the “lineweight” to be Color-based automatically?
I’m wondering if there is a way to set the lineweight to be color-based such that all the objects have the same color will take the same lineweight automatically.
Sure, we can control such behavior through the “bylayer” feature but I’m not sure if this very particular behavior might exist in the AutoCAD; color-based lineweigth!

AutoCAD Architecture :: 2013 - Toolbar That Controls Color Or Lineweight Of A Line
Aug 13, 2012Our office recently upgraded from AutoCAD 2005 to the new version AutoCAD Architecture 2013. I’m having difficulty finding the layer override toolbar for the lines. I have found that I can change the color and/or line type of an line in the properties dialog box but in AutoCAD 2005 there was a toolbar specifically assigned for the color, line type and line weight of a line. Dose that toolbar still exist in 2013 or do they control this in another location.

May 30, 2009I cannot change the color of any object in any drawing file from the properties manager or color command. I can change the color through the layer manager by assigning a new color to that layer, but cannot override the ByLayer and ByBlock settings with the object properties. The color drop down is simply grayed out. I am using Autocad lt 2006.

If I were using a *.ctb file it would be obvious, but I'm doing contract work for a client and am using their *.stb file, and I don't have the option of adding another option to their *.stb file.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Quick Properties Color Is Grayed Out Not Selectable?
May 16, 2013Using Autocad 2011. If I pick an object, any object, in an old drawing, or newly created drawing, I cannot change it's color in the Quick Properties dialog box. "Color" is grayed out, and not selectable. I can change it via the pulldown in the Layer Manager on my toolbar, but not in the Quick Properties dialog. This just started happening.

Oct 30, 2013I have an illustrator file made by someone else. They made swatches for different background colors. I want to get the Hex values for these colors so I can replicate them in a web page. I just can't seem to do it. I'm getting
The layout of the file is essentially a bunch of little boxes (it's a periodic table). I click on the swatch panel and it tells me something like "unamed Swatch 3" but I can't seem to get how to find out exactly what values those colors contain.
I'm using Illustrator CC and am new to Illustrator altogether.
AutoCAD LT :: Lineweight Not Plotting
Apr 26, 2013I am trying to embolden lineweights to stand out on the drawing, without them getting in the way when viewing in the drawing. I have set the lineweight in the layer dialogue box to the max size (2.xx mm), checked the "plot lineweights" in the printer dialogue and switched between none and grayscale (this is so the assigned colors will fade out in the background). Nothing I have tried thus far has changed the print output on any of my printers (virtual PDF, HP2100, HP2600n, HP2840 they are all very old). I have read through the lweight command and help sections, but I don't need it assigning the lw just getting it to properly print.
One possible problem: is the line weight relative to scale or is it absolute? I am printing at 1/8" scale, and that can't change.

Jul 10, 2012When I select any object, my quick properties tab is blank and my properties tab doesn't register anything. Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

Feb 13, 2013Somehow the Properties Palette has gotten less wide- such that I can't read teh actual properties. Previously I was able to make it wider just by hovering over it, clicking on an arrow and dragging it wider. Not now.

Jan 16, 2012A user showed me today that she cannot see any properties for a wall, door, or other AEC object in the Properties palette.
Some options like height, width, etc. are shown, but not layer, style, etc. from the General portion of the Basic tab.
Is this going to be a reinstall scenario or is there a fix for this?
AutoCAD LT :: 2014 - Properties Box Does Not Display Properties Of Selected Object
Jun 6, 2013I recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.

So I want to know what other Inventor and Vault users are doing to get model properties into Inventor drawings: Using model properties in the title block and nothing to extract in Vault or Copy model properties so Vault has data to extract.
I want to know what the best in class practice is? What are others doing? I do not want to use iLogic I was out of the box Inventor functionality.

I understand that they are appearing and disappearing due to me turning on or off the hide/show lineweights feature. But I would like the lines to be default size. I don't need them thick.

Black goes to a smoke grey color, lines dont show up, and the red is blurry. I need this to be fixed but I just dont have the skill to do it. And stupid autocad doesnt have a contact number for step by step instructions with an actual human! Jun 12, 2012Using AutoCAD 2011 we always use 0.00 as our default line weight but the default will change to 0.010 with no real pattern. It can be any drawing at any time. We have reset this dozens of times without being able to stop it from reoccurring.
We are also not able to get line weight to display (yes we check the Lineweight Settings, Display lineweight box) again on random drawings at random times.
