I am using FDO for fetching oracle spatial data which is displaying as a layer in AUD modal space.This layer I need to save as DWG file through Custom coding ( C#).
I have been attempting to create some of my own line types by modifying the coding in the acadiso.lin file. I have been relatively successful in creating new line types but it is more by trial and error and wanted to understand the coding better.

He is insisting on it, because of the vector file. I have a design file that was completed in a layerd PSD. I want to know what, if any, quality is lost from converting from PSD to .AI vector file? Would it be better to have the Designers strach over from Scratch?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there might be a way to add the option to save a selection to the disk? when i work i create many selections with complicated shapes and areas.
since i need to use them more then once i was wondering if a feature for saving only the selection can be implemented ? this would enable me to load the selections to new projects and use them there making the same "print" every time.(my work around for this is saving a B/W picture of the shape then uploading it every time i need it , then copy and paste to a new layer
in the new project then selecting the shape area then flatting the image with the selection and deleting the internal area or the invert ) its long but works.if you can add "File Open into a NEW layer", this would save the need for part of my work around. i would then just load the save to the new layer and use it directly :-)

I saw this the save/load selection feature the other day in a photoshop presentation and was shocked that it's real :-)So if such feature can be added to paint.net even in version 4.0 it would be great and time saving too.
I tryed searching for this on google and the forums but I never got a strait answer, what I need is to save some skin colors that I made into swatches, but I dont have the time or patience to delete all the other swatches in my pallette, anyone know a way of just saving my swatches i made.

I had my automatic save set up for every 10 minutes but files were not being saved regularly. I deleted files from the Temp folder thinking it was full and now there are no .sv$ saving at all. How can I make drawings save automatically every 10 minutes?
We run 6 seats of Map 3D 2012. We are upgrading computers but want to remain with 2012 for the time being.
Our old machines were 32 bit; the new ones 64 bit. I am having to load the 64 bit version of Map 3D fresh to all the stations (individual; not network)
I have set up custom menus and a preferred workspace on my station some time ago. I don't want to have to reconfigure everything from scratch.
What files do I need to save and how do I access them once I have reinstalled the new version?
Where do I save custom hatch pattertns in autocad? What file? Support? Do they have to be saved one at a timeor can they be saved in a folder?

Then I have to go through and X out about 100 toolbars. I would like to be able to turn all of the custom toolbars off at one time. Then only turn on the ones that I want to use.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using ACAD 2005 and am trying to copy&paste several objects from a layer I created in one .dxf file to one of the 2 standard layers (0 or Defpoints) in a new blank .dxf file.
My problem though is that if I copy and paste all of the objects (or even one of them) and them move to the new file and paste, it pastes the objects, but also "imports" into the new file the original file's layer that these objects were on.
For clarity, the new file only has the 2 standard layers and then after copy/pasting an object, the file manager shows the 3rd layer from the original file.

We are using the linework coding to process our figures and the survey .txt file provided to me uses codes to begin lines with "+" & "-". For example, driveways are coded + DR1 for begin and - DR1 to end the line. The linework process works fine, its when I go to display the point in the description keys that are causing me problems. All the points that are in between the begin and end points display to the appropriate style because they are coded as DR*. The begin and end do not display correctly as the + & - isn't being recognized in the description key. I tried many alternate ways such as *DR*, + DR*, - DR*, with nothing working.
Is there a different format I need to be using? There are way to many points to go thru to move the + & - behind the code.
I had created a couple of shapes with the pen tool. I've searched the PS folders to find those shapes as files, but I couldn't.
I'd like to know if there's any way to "recover" them. I still have access to the PS folders, but not PS itself. It's a little complicated. The partition I previously installed PS is now on the slave drive, because I couldn't boot from that partition, which is why I had to install XP once more on the (now) master hdd.
Basically what ive done, is taken a font ive found online and made quite a few changes to it by use of the paint brush, eraser and so on... now i want to save these changes and use this new "font" ive created, and use it in pictures and stuff.
what i would like to know, is how do i save the changes ive made? But i only want the words ive used. I dont want the black background i edited on. I would like to open the file, and just have the words i edited on the new background.
LR4 will not save a custom preset. I am experiencing this issue in the Book module for Layout presets, in the identity plate setup. Even in export I am not able to see my saved preset, I mean it does not even exist. After I save a preset in export and I go to export with preset my new preset does not exist.

Is there any way to bundle many calls and send them as one.

I'm attempting to create a model that autmotaically derives ready-to-go drawings. I've gotten pretty far in doing so but have a few issues with regards to dimensioning. As I'm sure you're aware, when the model changes, a dimension to that feature, which has been removed, is also deleted and some those dimensions do not return once the model is changed back.
I have looked into using different view representations, but have found that they do not accommodate feature supression.
Is there a way to program in the dimensioning of a view.
Create center points for of the holes and center lines.
And for a feature note such as "Hole and Thread" dimensioning, when the model expands, the leader and text length do not change and proceed into the view. Is there a way to fix or anchor the text to a certain spot on the drawing, and have the leader length expand and change accordingly to that point.
I am setting up template .ipts and .idw for my company, and i run Adept to save and store my files. Now i have a code to automatically make a .idw after i save an .ipt. but then after every save (adept saves the .ipt a lot of times) it will ask to make a drawing for the .ipt. well i was wondering if there is a code to put in a rule to disable the event triggers, and place that rule on the trigger after close document. so that the next time i open the document no event triggers will work.

Our problem is when we are toping an area with a roadway, we commonly do cross sections. We get 2 of every line, such as the edge of pavement. I have set up our C3D to handle all our codes, but if our crews jump from one side to the other with their linework it will create a zig zag line instead of 2 parallel lines. Does C3D recognize the line code along with a number?
For example, our code for edge of pavement is EP. So the start of a pavement line would be B EP. Since there's 2 lines, we're wondering if we can do something like B EP1, then use B EP2 on the other side of the street. Will C3D still import both of those lines onto the EP layer that I have set up?
How can you "hard code" a link code or point code into a subassembly? I can use Input parameters to create the code, but then the user has the ability to change the code once in C3D?
how can you lock the name of a point or link code?

I'm trying to save custom tone mapping curves for later reference and use. I can record the "action" of constructing the curve in Image > Adjustments > Curves and applying it to an image. GIMP MESSAGE:
Saving '/usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes/brush.gih' failed:
Could not open '/usr/share/gimp/2.0/brushes/brush.gih' for writing: Permission denied.
Although I have successfully done this in the past ,for some reason it is now preventing me from saving them in the 'brushes' folder. Incidentally although the brushes I previously produced do NOT appear in this folder (despite having show all files ticked) they do appear in the gimp dialogue and I can use them.
Im using uberstudent (Linux)
I've checked gimp's 'preferences' to see if I have inadvertantly blocked access but cant see anything relevant..
I'm linking an excel file to an .ipt file with iLogic code determining if the Material type is a certian value it will find the correct material thickness. These file work great when working on them thru Vault but when I "Save As Template" and create this file where our other template files are located (not Vault) this fuction does not work. I have realized that I had to place the a copy of the excel file in the same file folder as the template ipt, but even this does not fix the issue.
I recieve this error:
Error in rule: Material, in document: Part6
'MWW Materials (Inventor).xlsx' could not be found. Check the spelling of the file name, and verify that the file location is correct.
If you are trying to open the file from your list of most recently used files, make sure that the file has not been renamed, moved, or deleted.
It seems completly countintutive that just saving the file as a template file would cause this not to work when all files that are required are located in the same file folder. Maybe I need a reference to the excel document within the iLogic code.
I've never had this issue before, but recently when I create a new document preset and go through the process of saving it, it simply doesn't save (File > New > Preset: Custom > Save Preset > Ok). I've tried reinstalling CS6, removing all other custom things I had (textures, brushes, etc.) but not matter what I do, I cannot for the life of me get custom new document presets to save anymore.

How can I add a custom layer for ballooning changes on inventor drawings while the parts are being developed. The changes need to be tracked. After the parts are released the ballooning is removed from the drawing and the basic revsions take over after that. It would be great to be able to do the ballooning of the changes with a specific line that is placed on this layer. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Long story short, we XREF a lot of mechanical equipment in our models and when we create a structural drawing make all of the mechanical item print in a light ghosted color. I created a layer property filter with a huge list of all the possible equipment prefix's like *cl-* *tk-* *rv-* and so on to filter out all the equipment layers. It took a long time to create, so I want to export it and import it into future drawing.
