I tried to bring in a shapefile to AutoCad Map 3D 2013 and I realized the attributes in the table were incorrect. There should be no negatives for the column CLN_NUM_ID.
And it appeared that the CLN_NUM_ID is totally incorrect. Then I realized the data type of CLN_NUM_ID is Long integer so I changed the datatype to DOUBLE in ArcMap. When I brought in the shape file, the program crashed.
Having an issue trying to join an access table to a shp file attribute table. I want to use the access table to cross reference the shp file for matching parcel numbers. I have attached the access table in the ODBC using a data source name however it seems to not give me the option to view any records.

I want to generate a table with point number from the attribute, and x, y and z of the block's insertion point. I want a routine that sets out the blocks and then create the table. The first part of the routine I have (in LISP), I need it to generate the table. I was intended to use the -DATA EXTRACTION but unfortunately it does not allow me to select objects (blocks). Are there other ways to do this? I'm using AutoCAD 2011.

In VBA, how can I batch convert field attributes in blocks to text attributes while retaining the blocks? Is there a simple way to univerally convert them all at onceusing VBA? The plotted values for the fields must be retained, too.
Explode will not retain the value of the field.
Burst will not work as it explodes the blocks as well.
You can right-click on the field and slelct "Convert to text" from the RCM. So I know that the process exists within CAD, just need to batch the process for a quantity of DWGs at a time - in VBA.

Background: Someone exploded an attribute block and copied it hundreds of times throughout a project, each time changing the Attribute Tag to match the Value they expected to appear in their drawing. The drawing must be xrefed, so the attribute definitions do not appear.
(There is only 1 attribute in the block.)

I am using M Text Attributes to store imperial lengths in the drawing, feet inches and fractions (stacked). When I read back the Text String property which, is the M text Attribute.Contents parsed, I am having problems because the parser does not add a space between the inch and the fraction. So, is there any setting that could be used to tell the parser to add the space between the inch and the fraction?

I want to make an attribute that takes the number from the candela (15,30,75or 110) and change a different attribute to a value depending on which candela we use (such as 15=.078, 30=.113, 75=.195 or 110=.259). But I don't want the .078,.113,.195,.259 to print out on paper, I want to export block information excel file so I can add up all values.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to copy attribute values. I'm making a catalogue of all the reinforcements in my drawing so I need to name those reinforcements. So what I want is to make a string of text that I don't need to totally modify everytime. Something like this:
Amount of reinforcement bars - 5
Diameter of the reinforcement - 12
Division of reinforcing bars - 100
Reinforcement bars: 5-T12-k100
So the only attributes I'd edit would be the first three not the last one. So how can this be accomplished?
The angle or radius are outside the table boundaries. I have used bend tables before and have not run into this. See screenshot. What I don't understand is that in the error dialog box the Thickness is correct the Radii are correct and the Angle is correct except it is showing a -90 degrees. Is that the problem? The negetive? Why is it showing a negative number. I can't change the way the part is formed. The problem seems to be with the lower left hand curl. It does go ahead and flatten it, but I don't trust the results when I have the three errors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn our company, we put Excel tables in our drawings. The reason we've chosen for Excel-tables is that we can adjust the layout of the table quite easily. These tables consist of grouped cells in a particular company-specific layout. We select the range of the desired cells, copy and paste them in our AutoCAD drawing. This drawing is sent to our customers. The disadvantage of this method is, that when our customers (who use CAD-software of other brands) open the dwg, they don't see the table, but some kind of picture of the table.
Is there a way to 'explode' the excel-table, but keep the specific layout of the table? For attributes in blocks there's the 'Explode Attributes'-command in the Express-tools, but is there something similar for Excel-tables?

Is there a way to force the table and table text height to stay constant despite the scale? I can do it for Point Label Styles with an Expression. But in 2011 there is no way to build an expression for a table style.
I want to create tables in the drawing where the points are and then plot them from a drawing they're Xrefed in to. The tables are too small but zooming in doesn't make them any bigger because the scale of the viewport changes and they adjust.
I have a part where I have placed a number of table driven iFeatures. These features generate parameters in the model that I can see in the parameter table. I am trying to find a way to have these iFeature parameters show up in the hole table in my drawing.
By 'exporting' the parameters, I have been able to get the values to show in notes and drawing view labels but I can't find a way to add them as a 'New Property' in my hole table.
I want to know if you can link AutoCad tables to other Autocad tables on different layouts. Say I have ten sheets, each with a table for quantities of pipe length, and one sheet with a total of all quantities. Can I link cells from each separate layout sheet to the main table sheet, so that I can add them all for project totals?

Say I had two tables located within AutoCAD, can I make it to where if I put data in one cell of one of the tables that it could automatically populate in a different cell in the other table? Also if this can be done, could it be done linking the data in-between separate layouts?

We have a whole bunch of spreadsheets that we use for calculations and parts of those spreadsheets are linked to a ton of CAD Drawings via data links.
We would like to be able to deliver the CAD drawings to the client without having to send our calculation books (just the output tables). In other words, is it possible to embed the table data and remove the excel link for the final delivery?
It's the strangest thing. I'll draw a 6' long line, go to measure it and it comes up as 5-'6-1/2".

I tried to draw a line of length 1600mm but when I take a dim it's only 145mm but via properties its 1600mm. The drawing is attached zoomed-in on issue area.
I am having a problem with my dimension style on Acad mech 13. In my template I have set my modified dimension style as current and saved. I have set my template dwt. file to open in Qnew, but when I start a new drawing from Qnew, dimstyle reverts back to default style.
View 2 Replies View RelatedText is displaying at the incorrect size in both paper space and model space. It seems that there may be some kind of global scale factor in action e.g. if I add text at size 2.5, it displays at size 2.25 and if I add text at size 1.8, it displays at size 1.62.
How do I set so that text is displayed at the correct size?
Whenever I attempt to print, I get the warning message below referring to a printer that I do not have. I presume it's an AutoCAD default setting, but I cannot find any place allowing me to change this default. It eventually prints, since as the warning message says, it then substitutes my Mac's default printer, Is there any way to change the AutoCAD setting.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am creating a project with multiple level in ACA 2014. Set up levels like we always have but now we have a project where the lowest level is below 0. When I generate a model or elevations, the model is created with the lowest level inserted at z=0, not the real level.
After I experimented, if you create a model with say level 1 & 2 not included, it creates the model with level 2 @ z=0 ?
My drawing is set in millimeters, the drawing i want to xref (which i only have read-access to and can't modify) should be in millimeters, but the UNITS are set to inches.. so the door appears to be 900 inches instead of 900 mm for example.
is there a way to bring this drawing in at the correct scale? i was looking at INSUNITS but it doesn't really have something that would set up my scale factor to 1/25.4, which i think is what i would need to do this.. is there a way to do this without manually scaling the xref after it's brought in?
