AutoCAD Map 3D :: DBConnect Manager Crashes Pointing To Particular Database?
Oct 7, 2011
Recenlty I used the DBConnect Manager to link template data to a drawing object. Well I think I flubbed because I altered the view that the link template was accessing while AutoCAD was open. Now anytime I use the DBConnect command, whether through the toolbar or ctrl+6, it crashes AutoCAD. If I point the data link to a different database, I can use the DBConnect Manager with no problems. If I recreate the data link, pointing to the original database, it works once or twice and then crashes again.
I have tried to load dbconnect on several 64 bit workstations usinf "dbc" and "dbconnect". In all cases AutoCAD Map 3d stops working. Generally, the workstation just spins and you have to end the program with task manager, but I do have on Win 7 machine that crashes all the way out. There is never an AutoCAD error message or opportunity to report the issue to Autodesk.
Having issues with Reference Manager - I can't add anything to it as it just goes into "Not Responding" mode and crashes? Is there a recovery/repair option for it?
IDSP Premium 2014 (mainly Civil 3D 2014 UKIE SP1 & Infraworks with some limited 3ds Max Design) Win 7 Pro x64, 256Gb SSD, 300Gb 15,000 rpm HDD 16Gb Ram Intel Xeon CPU E5-1607 0 @ 3.00GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.0GHz NVIDIA Quadro 4000, Dual 27" Monitor, Dell T3600
When I start Reference Manager, the program window opens but at the same moment a message window opens saying 'AutoCAD component has stopped working Windows is checking for a solution to the problem...'. A solution is not found, so I can only select 'Close program', and the program closes. I have run Reference Manager successfully a few weeks ago, and after that I haven't installed or removed Autodesk programs. I have Windows 7 64-bit, AutoCAD Mechanical 2012 SP2 and Factory Design Suite Ultimate 2013. I cannot use Reference Manager 2013 (which works) because it saves the files in 2013 format.
In Windows Control Panel / Troubleshooting I found a file with the following text:
I just signed up for Creative Cloud and I can't download it. Adobe Application Manager crashes. When I re-run it, all I get is the option to update my copy of CS6. I want Creative Cloud and Lightroom.
I am working on the AutoCAD customization and doing the same by VB.Net & C#.Net. But I just want to know the difference as mentioned below:
1. Insert Block In AutoCAD
Using VB.Net without using DataBase services..Only 1 statement is required to Insert the Block objAcadDocument.ModelSpace.InsertBlock(Required Arguments are here) Using C#.Net with DataBase services
There are many statments are there to insert only 1 block..Like Start Transaction, Lock the document, Get the Object Id Block etc...So my quetion is that when I have to use DataBase services and when not
what is the advantage of doing customization using DataBase services rather than go for wihout DataBase services.?
Whenever I go to open up Adobe Photoshop (64bit or otherwise) it will load up for a second then crash the next. It doesn't give me error reason why only says it has stopped working and it can't detect a problem so it closes. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but the Adobe Application Manager is also acting weird. When it is opened it freezes and soon crashes saying there is a "Download Error".
I have a somewhat complex document with many layers that have similar colors. Is there some way to identify the layer of a particular element using my mouse cursor in AutoCAD WS?
I am converting from a R14 and a digitizer to ACA2009 and a Mouse.I am not thrilled with the way the mouse interacts with the screen, accuracy, lag time? I am using a wireless optical mouse and keyboard. What is the preferred pointing device for AutoCAD?
Further more I am a slab and have no room on my desk for a mouse cord,What is the preferred wireless pointing device?
I have just noticed that on my standard toolbar, it seems that the icons have shifted and do not point to the correct command.
For Example, when I click on the "open" icon, the "new" command is executed (see the attached jpg. It is showing what text bubble comes up when I hover over the open icon).
I have some points labeled with elevation only. If I drag the labels away from the point leaders are created but the arrows do not point to the centers of the points. I looked in the label style>dragged state>leaders but I don't see anyway to tell the leaders where to point.
We're trying to use vtablet with ACAD 2012LT and a GTCO Rollup III 3648 on Com1, 32-bit Win7 (32-bit driver) and are having a bit of trouble with the configuration. The problem is that ACAD seems to only half-recognize it.
When we try to change the pointing device to "wintab compatible digitizer", the change won't "stick" - but I don't see an error message in the status line. The "apply" button simply continues to stay grayed out and clicking on "ok" doesn't make ACAD save the change. Thus since the pointing device remains a mouse, when we try to turn the tablet on, we get an error message that says "your pointing device cannot be used as a tablet".
However, we can move the tablet's stylus and it moves the cursor. We can also draw a line in ACAD but can't calibrate (since calibrate never becomes an option since we can't turn the tablet on inside ACAD).
Yes, UAC is off. Yes the digitizer does seem to be sending regular packets. Yes the digitizer shows up in device manager as a MS Serial Ballpoint (the mouse uses USB). They both move the cursor seemingly without conflict (there is no jerkiness).
I put my photoshop actions on a seperate hardrive. Only funny thing is I created some new ones and I don't see them in this original location.
Unfortunately, I don't see while I'm in Photoshop any sort of "show in finder" so you can know exactly where your current action sets are pointing to, is there any definitive way to know? and I'm curious why I can't find an action that I see in PHotoshop, but not in the action set on the hardrive.
I have one Lightroom catalog and i use 2 external drives that I work with. I've assigned fixed drive letters to both E: and F: I've recently upgraded to an SSD - cloned my entire HDD but now Lightroom shows the content on the 2 external drives swithced around. The folders that are physically on drive E: show as if they shoud be on F: but with the missing icon next to them. And vice versa, the ones that are on F: show as if they should be on E: with missing icon.
I open a new background - 1440 x 600. Then import my image (in new layer) - 1350 x 280.
Now I want to put some text or arrows pointing from the background to the image but I can only write/draw on the imported image not the background. Have tried merging to no effect.
I'm using CorelDraw X5 to generate the eps file for my thesis, written in LaTex. When I draw a vertical arrow, an then export the draw in eps format, the arrowhead is pointing the wrong direction (left - right and not up-down), and this is always the case. If I open again the .cdr file, everything is correct.
I had the opportunity to try also CorelDraw X3, and the same behavior appears.
Have you ever experienced it? It is actually quite annoying because I have to fix all the eps images containing vertical arrows with ink scape, but it is time consuming.
I have currently made a nested family for a basketball system and have a problem when i flex my elevation. As you can see my bracing that the Red arrow is pointing to is not flexing properly.. However when I edit the family its in, I have it constrained and it flexes no problem.
Any equivalent ObjectOverrule for the PnId Database?
If an entity is copied I dont want certain field values to be copied.I've tried an ObjectOverrule but I can't get the RowId at that point.
I also noticed that the field values are set as XData. I edited the XData in my ObjectOverrule but the values still gets copied. Is there a setting at project level to control which fields not to copy?
I am trying to convert several drawings that are linked to an SQL database to SQL spatial. The drawings are from a Autodesk map 2004 system. I have Map D 2013 64Bit installed on a laptop along with SQL server 2012 RC0 (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 11.0.1750.32 Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 6.1.7601.17514 Microsoft MSXML 3.0 4.0 5.0 6.0 Microsoft Internet Explorer 9.0.8112.16421 Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0.30319.269 Operating System 6.1.7601).
To keep my rouge laptop off the company network I exported our existing SQL data to a access database that I placed on the laptop and converted back to SQL and linked it to the 2004 drawings. That part worked fine. I would like to convert all of them to SQL spatial. I have converted a small drawing but it took a couple of hours. I am in the process of a larger drawing that has 60,000 entities and it has been working for 8 hours and only has 4550 of them completed. I am using the output to fdo connection.
As part of the automation requirements we are working on (through the .NET interface), we would like to find out whether a given drawing contains a sphere and if it does we would like to know its properties. We are doing something like this, to loop through the database and am able to get all Solid3d type of objects.
What I would like to know, if a given solid3d object is a sphere or otherwise. The code snippet is pasted here for reference:
bool bContainsSphere = false; foreach (ObjectId Id in Ids) { DBObject oObject = ts.GetObject(Id, OpenMode.ForRead); if (oObject.GetType().Name == "Solid3d")
