View 7 RepliesI have just recently replaced the hard drive on my IMac. All files and applications have been re-installed from the time machine back up drive. LR shows up on the dock but when I open it it comes up with:"The Lightroom catalog named “Lightroom 3 Catalog” cannot be opened because another application already has it opened" and "Quit the other copy of Lightroom before trying to launch."
Do I have to reinstall LR3 from the LR DVD? I do not want to use loose the catalog structure and edit info.
I am not changing anything in my system. I am using windows 7 and will continue to. Unable to start application (0xc000007b).
I already tried several fixes like:
1. reinstall all redist(x64 & x86).
2. reinstall .Net 4.0
3. Use CCleaner for Registry error.
4. chckdsk for error and fix.still error so I've gone through this.
5. I uninstall Autocad 2014 completely, uninstall it manually one by one, deleted left over folder of autodesk or similar software to it, deleted its registry keys.just like the instruction on how to remove autocad completely in autodesk, I just followed it all. [after Reboot]
6 I Re-install it and still the problem persist.
I want to start AutoCAD LT without the empty drawing. Just AutoCAD and the welcome screen. How can i do that? I always close the first drawing and begin a new one by choosing out of several templates or start with an existing drawing, rename and modify it. For NEW or OPEN i like to use the welcome screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved images from my harddrive to an external drive.
I opened Lightroom.
Noticed there was a question mark by the photo folder I needed.
I synchronized the folders. Nada.
I rememebered I moved the images (first line ^^)
I re-imported the images from the external drive into Lightroom.
These images (other than one that was marked previously with a blue label) look completely untouched - completely original files - even though I spent hours working on them.
I am glad the images weren't deleted BUT re-doing 600 images will be a MAJOR FAIL if I can't figure out how to import the images with the settings / developments I did beforehand.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy C Drive boot sector recently failed due to motherboard problems, causing me to have to install another hard drive to have an operating system to run. I am still using my old hard drive for data, only now it is renamed as my F drive. When I try to run PSCS2 off my F drive I get the message "Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit." Adobe's website says I need to reinstall PS, BUT I cannot find my install disks! I have a legal copy of CS2 and I cannot find it after scouring the house and it's nooks and crannies. Does anyone know if there is a data or text file that I could go into behind the scenes to tell PS to point to the F drive instead of the C Drive? I did this for my Quickbooks software, but can't figure out if PS has such a capability.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm putting together a new system partly to run Photoshop, Bridge, and Camera Raw, and I have a question about the optimal hard drive configuration. Software is CS3 running on Windows XP Pro SP2.
With three physical drives, I would probably do it like this:
1. 10k RPM - OS, programs
2. 10k RPM - ?
3. 7.2k RPM - Assets
Where is the best place for the Windows page file and the Photoshop scratch disk?
Or would I be better off going with four (less expensive) 7.2k RPM drives, in which case the OS/programs, page file, scratch disk, and assets could all have their own drives?
Many thanks.
I am contstantly getting warnings that the HD is too hot. ( 50 C or 122 f )
My Dell and Mac run about 45C to 48C. Is 50C dangerous and if not, what is.
I am putting together a pc ideally for using Photoshop, I was wondering in terms of buying a hard drive if I should get one with a higher rpm rate or higher cache? Which does Photoshop rely more on?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have my desktop and laptop with LR5 CC.
How do I configure a unique catalog in order to be used in both computers?
Is there a way to do it? So as soon as I return home, I connect my hard drive to the desk top and work with it, etc.
When I first installed LR4, I used an external HD, which I called Photo Library, for all my images. I also had a second Ext. HD, which I called Photo Library Backup. Unfortunately, Photo Library crashed. I have now replaced it with another, which I now call New Photo Library. For many of my images in LR, when I access them, I get the message that they are either missing or offline.
My question: I now want LR to find ALL my images on New Photo Library. There are 4 folders which I recently downloaded, which are on New Photo Library, but most are not. Many are on Photo Library Backup, and those LR can find. But I'd still like them all to point to New Photo Library.
All the images that are in LR are now in the HD called New Photo Library.
What is the advantage of publishing to hard drive. Why not just export to hard drive?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Vista and Lightroom 3.The drive letter for my external hard drive has changed from "J" to "L". I changed my import preset to "L", so I can now import and access new files. However, all of my previous imports are on this elusive "J" drive, which no longer exists. When I open J from the folders list in Lightroom it shows all my folders with the dreaded giant "?". I have tried to synchronize these folders by right clicking to "merge folders". This did not work. I can open all of these files from my back up folder, but I can't do anything with them in Lightroom. Half of my catalog is un usable.
