I am running CAD 2007 LT. Old laptop runs windows XP. On black Friday I purchased a new laptop with windows 7. All is well except the F3 & F8 I am so used to aren't allowing me to toggle on off. I have discovered that the fn button (lower left) by the ctrl button will let me toggle 1 time but have to hit the fn each time then F3 or F8.

have finished loading 2007 onto them.Now, back with 2006 we could set osnaps to the function keys (e.g. F2 to snap to END). I have been told that you can't do this with 2007.

I have a HP laptop on which I run AutoCAD 2012 AND Civil3D 2012 both of which for some reason do not have the function keys working as normal. Oddly enough if I attach an external keyboard, the function keys work as expected.

Can I work around this to use the Function key's ?
I've just installed GIMP to see if it can replace Photoshop for me. But I experience some weird troubles. When I try to use the text tool I can't type anything because all the keys acts as shortcut keys. Aren't these supposed to be overridden when using things like the text tool? I also have the same problems with dialog boxes. The tab key is used to hide toolbars, but when I open dialog boxes I would rather want to use tab to jump from one input box to another. Plus I couldn't enter numbers because the number keys was shortcuts for zoom level.I guess I'm just doing this all wrong? I'm on OSX Maverick.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to toggle visibility of a corridor in a drawing where the model has been Xref'd into? The problem I am having is that we have one Model drawing that has a corridor.This Model is xref'd into multiple drawings. Not all drawings should show the corridor.
The only way I have found so far is to go into model and toggle the corridor on and off depending on which drawing I want to print or view. It creates problems when you want to run a Publish of multiple drawings because you always have to goof with the Model file. This seems a bit of a step back from being able to toggle visibility of objects in a drawing file with an xref atached and leaving it that way and ready to be printed at any time.
I want to set a keyboard shortcut for toggling the visibility of User Work Planes in 2013. I can't seem to find a way to do it. I am able to find it in 2012. Has this been removed from the customize menu in 2013? See attaced pic

I'm trying to build a command to replace AutoCAD's "DI" command, to give distance and delta x, y, and z values in decimal and imperial, and keep the angles in XY plane and out of XY plane.
When I toggle PICKSTYLE with CTRL+H... I see no command line confirmation for the change. Currently using ACAD 2012 (coming from 2010).
Is there another SYSVAR which controls what the command line displays in occasions such as this? Something along the lines of CMDECHO?
I am trying to add an on and off checkmark via lisp to an item in a pull down menu.
It can be done with diesel but only on system variables.
In my case i can't use sysvars - only lisp.
I tried (menucmd ....) but I get nil.
TFRAMES command in 2010 doesn't seem to toggle image frames. It just continuously turns them off.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to be able to have a function run another function with the secondary function being passed as an argument to the first. I'm trying to create a recursive function and the recursive part works great. I just need to be able to have the recursive function run other functions to actually do stuff.
Here is something I found that should do what I need, mainly run a function from a function name in a variable.

However I get the error "object required" on the "result = Application.Run(ftnName, argument)" line. So I'm guessing the Inventor VBA doesn't like this method of doing this. I'm just hoping there is a way to do this or this function will be useless or reduced to hardcoding functions which still defeats the purpose.
I've got a big beef with the new action toggling in Photoshop CS6. When an actioin is toggled 'off' this alert appears.
"This will toggle the state of all commands in this action. It is not undoable."
It is not a choice it's just a statement of fact, which I can ask not to be warned about again.
Implicit in this is that the state of the action when I turn it off may have some sub-actions on or off, however in this new version they all get turned off and then 'all' back on again. I want the action left in the state I choose it to be in at the time I disable it and be in the same state when I re-enable it.
This has wrecked my workflow, am I missing a new feature here, this seems broken to me.
When I toggle the interface on/off it causes missing menu toolbar items and icons until I exit and restart Photoshop CS4. I know this can happen if problem filters are installed. So I have the latest Alien Skin filters installed and have already followed their AutoLayer2.8li file updates to resolve Windows Photoshop CS4 issues. I also have Luxology imageSynth 2.0 filter installed. So since all my filters are updated to CS4 compatible versions, I shouldn't have this problem but yet it occurs. I'm using WinXP SP2, 4 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 with newest 185.85 driver. I have 3D canvas rotation turned on.
View 12 Replies View RelatedThis new behavior of PS in which you can press a key to select a certain tool, and then pressing the same tool again will select the next tool within that tool category. Is there a way to turn it off? Its making my workflow a mess at the moment. Since in the past I've never needed to depend on looking at what icon I'm using to know what tool is selected, now having to look every time to make sure the right sub-category tool is selected is getting unbearably annoying. I already had my key assignments directly linked to sub-category tools and my workflow was fast since I never had to check anything, I just had to press 1 button and thats it. Now I'm having to take an extra step thousands of times in one afternoon because I end up always not being on the right sub tool.
If I didn't have the 5D MKIII I'd just stick with CS4 but I'm cornered since CR7 is so much better than Canons DPP software.
I'm taking pictures as RAW+JPEG.I know that there is an importing-time option that treats such JPEG as a side-car. And, these JPEGs won't be shown in LR once imported.However, sometimes I want to see these JPEGs for comparison (DSLR body may do better post processing).
But, it seems no way to toggle the setting how JPEG+RAW should be treated, after importing.

Is there a way, using the _keyboard_, to select or toggle whether I want the window to resize when I use the zoom tool? I often want to go back and forth between asking for the resize and prohibiting it, but I don't want to have to go up with the mouse to click on that little check box all the time.

While in Library mode, when I choose a library search filter preset, say all 5 stars, and then toggle the filter off and on again, the search criteria randomizes to something wildly different than what I was just searching for, for example, adding text and metadata to the search queries when I only had star attributes selected a few seconds before.
I've experimented with turning the filter lock icon on and off and that seems to have no effect. Switching between folders in my catalog and toggling search off and on, results in the same random search criteria being generated.
I want to add a second layer of keyboard shortcuts, by toggling the second layer (alt,shift,etc)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI hate making keys and legends, but they are critical to understanding drawings, especially those with a lot of overlayed hatched areas.
I like to make them in paper space so that I can easily customize them to the sheet and to what hatched items are displayed in that specific sheet. But, I then find it to be such a pain to replicate the hatches from model space accurately, especially when these features are in an XREF, or the ucs has been rotated, the scale changed, or there are viewport LWT, LTYPE, and color overrides.It would be simple and amazing if the hatch "inherit properties" worked across Model Space / Paper Space / XREF scenarios but it doesn't seem to.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using AutoCAD 2002 Mechanical at work and the mouse wheel is set to do zooming in and out. The finger I use on the wheel is beginning to hurt as I zoom a lot so I would like to be able to zoom with the up and down arrow keys on my keyboard instead. Is this possible?
I would also like to know if it is possible to set up panning in all directions with the four arrow keys instead of pushing down the mouse wheel and moving the mouse.
Is there anyway that I can pan up, down, left, right using arrow keys? or zoom in, zoom out using pgup pgdn? I only know ctrl+arrow keys... I think it is more convenient if I use only arrow keys.

Over the last few months i've had an increasing problem with a sore finger causing by an over reliance on zooming with the scroll wheel. To combat the problem I've recently purchased a track mouse but i'm finding it difficult to move around the drawing as freely as i'd normal be used to.
Is there any way of setting the arrow keys on the keyboard to zoom and perform a similar function as the scroll wheel on an orthodox mouse?
