Just upgraded to Autocad 2013 and I've noticed that if you click a dimension then right click the "dimension text position" is missing. Also double clicking it to get to properties, under text position I don't get the option to change to sat centred or above line. how to get it back. I've switched to classic view if this has any effect.Inventor 2013

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am drawing in a viewport on a layout sheet rather than directly on the model so I can work on the same model but show different layers. However, when drawing lines, instead of the box thay appears containing the dimension of the line remaining close to the cursor so it is always visible on the screen no matter how zoomed in you are, it is fixed half way along the line so it disappears off the screen so I cannot read it. This doesn't happen when working directly on the model and is very frustrating more than anything else. Is there a way to change this?

The 2 1/2" and 2" shown have a minimum distance they can get toward their dimensions. I would like it to be about half of what it is, but so far I haven't been able to find the property that changes that.

My prefs are identical for this feature as they have for the past several version of InDesign. My partner also has trouble with copy/paste in InDesign and Illustrator as well.

my normal dimension style has text above dmension line & I want to add 'typical' to it below dimension line.
I have done this lot of time in my previous job an year back. but I can't seem to remember what to type between dimension text & the word I want to add in edit text box, so that it appers below dimension line.
When i click my mouse to draw the cursor moves up and to the left of the position i started which makes any and all editing impossible. Imagine trying to draw a line but the starting point is a half to a full inch up and to the left of where you wanted the line to start. I've tried a clean install even changed my mouse. doesn't do it it drawx4 only photo-paint x4.

The stage size you see above is H: 400px, W: 550px.
I would like for the stage to be smaller, say H:50px./W:400px
Ok so if I change the size of the stage the animation text will not show, so I need to adjust the position of the text in order for the animation text to be visible, but in doing that, I am disrupting the timeline and the animation goes all funny, is there another way of doing this without disrputing the timeline?

I'm using the ED command in AutoCAD 2012. I have my texts verticals, but I want to edit them in horizontal position, however when I active the command and I select the text, the edit option appears in vertical position. What can I do to control this option? Is there some variable to control this option?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy office has two desktop printers, both HP. Our Officejet 7000 wide format prints great. On the HP Officejet 7500, we are often seeing text printing errors. It will not print the text from vertical dimension strings, and cuts off some M-text at an imaginary vertical line in the middle of the text box. PDF's of the same drawing look fine. Is this a printer driver issue? Is there anything I can do within AutoCAD?

The number for the height that I changed stays saved however the actual text height on the drawing does not, not even after I tell it to update.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWe have detail drawings that contain horizontal and vertical dimensions. They're drawn at full scale in model space and saved as individual drawings. We then insert them as blocks onto a sheet in paper space, scaling them down to 1/2", 1/4" scale ETC.
Here's the problem - all the vertical dimension text appears bolder than everything else when scaled down. Horizontal text is just fine, diagonal text also looks a little bolder though.
When i mark Text/Dimension/Multileader and such in autocad 2011 LT, i get an issue, which i have tried to shown on the picture.The problem is that when i mark them, they show the current size they have, plus any other size they have had (Annotation it seems).
I Make a dimension. The overall annotation scale is 1:10. Now i change the overall annotation scale to 1:100. Then i set the overall annotation scale back to 1:10, i click my dimension, and it now shows how it currently looks, plus how it looked when the annotation scale was 1:100. This way i end up with every text object showing up 5 times when i mark them.
Home and work computers act differently when I initiate the dimension text edit command. One moves both the text and the dimension lines and the other only moves the text. It doesn't appear to be the dimstyle so I am wondering if it is a setvar.

I have downloaded a list of system variables but have been unable to identify a system variable to control the location of the Text Format box.
Every time I double click on text to open the text editor the Text Format box opens directly on top of the text forcing me to drag the Text Format box out of the way to be able to see what I'm typing as I edit the text.
Some one in our office pointed out that the Text Format box is defaulting to open in the center of the screen and that if I want to avoid the conflict I should zoom or pan to a point where the text I wat to edit is not in the center of the screen. This is a major PITA that requires significant retraining as I ALWAYS zooom and pan to place what I am editing in the center of the screen. Twenty two years of AutoCAD use creates habits that are difficult to alter. I would think most people would do this by default and having the Text Format box default to opening in the center of the screen was a rather shortsighted choice by the programmer.
Shouldn't the placement of the Text Format box be relative to the location of the text chosen for editing, say above or below on the screen rather than defaulting to a set location?
Is it possible to setup a block so that an attribute position remaines fixed (absolute to drawing) when moving the block?
I've been playing around with creating a Coordinate Block by following these instructions: [URL] ........
What I would like is to be able to set the position of the Coordinate Label and Coordinate Object independently, so that if I move one in the drawing, it doesn't move the other. I've looked into Dynamic Blocks, and the "Lock Position" parameter. I can move the attribute independently, but still everytime I move the block, the attribute moves too.
Our company uses a custom Sheet/Coordinate system to follow flyoffs across a drawing, and I'm trying to learn how to automate the process. It's completely manually right now, so any changes to a drawing creates a lot of work renumbering these flyoffs.
I cannot change the leader text position to be aligned next to the leader line, the text is positioned offset from the line, how do I correct this .
