Is there a way to Find and Replace or change the global properties of a drawing from horizontally stacked fractions to Vertical or vis a vis? (WITHOUT INDIVIDUALLY CHANGING EACH ONE) Ive got mixed stacked settings throughout a number of drawings and I want a single uniform appearance.
View 4 RepliesI initially told AutoCAD to stack all of the fractions but I think I have since changed my mind. Where is that setting that I can turn it off in my template file so all new files will not stack fractions? I assume that setting will disable it for text and dimensions?

And this creates 3'-8 1/2" with the fraction as a horizontal format. What I want is a diagonal format for the fraction. What is the proper syntax for this.
System variable to keep a stacked fraction with the leading number?
We open the same drawing on different computers at work and on one computer the number will be 21/2 but on the next computer that opens the same dwg the 1/2 will have been bumped down to the the following line. I don't know if this is a problem with the autostack properties, although I can't find anything about that, or if its a problem with the tabs.
I'm completely at a loss and its becoming a problem because if one person opens a project to plot it and it looks fine but the next person opens it and every mtext in the dwg is wrong it becomes very time consuming to fix.
Way to round decimal dimension values to the nearest 1/16"? For instance, 43.0599 would display as 43.0625 (On a drawing). Tried playing with tolerances, but thought it would be better addressed as customization.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have got a drawing that is set up on A0 as per the client requirements. However, for use on site by our engineers, i want to send over an A2 of just the area they are working in to make it clearer for them. On my original drawing, all the information for the installers is dotted around the page to show site requirements. However, what I am planning on doing now is making 2 x A2 drawings showing the areas of work for this phase, and then 1 x A2 showing all installer requirements.
My issue is though that i don't want to alter the positioning on my drawing in the layout tab as it is to how the client needs it to be and sod's law will be that i will need to do an amendment at some point too.
I have seen a drawing with some boundaries drawn on the layout, which the client has put on a 'defpoints' layer, then on the paper space they have been able to show the different defpoints in different areas on the page, even though they are joining on the layout tab.
I have an assembly I've been working on for a while. It was fine until after opening it one day, any changes I make cause inventor to freeze up for several minutes before completing whatever it is that I was trying to accomplish. Most of the changes are with constraints (adding parts and constraining them or changing constraints that were already in place), but I even tried to just rotate a part and Inventor locked up. I'll get the green loading bar at the bottom right corner, and it will run through a couple of times before it stops. The freezing seems to be tied to this assembly only, but I'm trying to find any other way to fix the problem before having to completely restart the assembly. I've worked with bigger assemblies before and have never run into this problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have created a custom library (custom content center), and that went fine. All I done was copy a family of RHS from the desktop content center into my custom content library. I then created a small test assembly with frame generator to see if I could use my custom library. It worked fine BUT when I place it into a drawing and create the parts list, the parts list shows all the info in an order that is no use to me. (see attached *SNIP A*)
What I would like is that when I use frame generator along with my custom library, then take it into a drawing, the parts list needs to look like the attached file (see attached *SNIP B*).
So really, I want the "Unit QTY" to vanish, I want the "QTY" to show the Quantity of that part within the assembly, I want the "stock Number" to vanish and I want the description to show the size of the member (what the "stock number" currently shows) along with the length of the member.
Now I know I can edit all this for each part within the parts list BUT I need the parts list to show this info EVERY time AND automatically.
I have grasped the basics but since loading up CAD recently drawing lines does not seem to automatically snap to right angles like it had done before. Where abouts do I tweak this?
How to enlarge the annotation text and also limited the decimal points. At the moment i have readings of 0.0000 when 0.00 would suffice.
the properties palette started only showing the current properites for the drawing and not the properties of the entity selected. what causes this i am using autocad civil 3d 2013.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I select any object, my quick properties tab is blank and my properties tab doesn't register anything. Also, I get an error message when I go into my CUI to try to modify the quick properties tab. Pretty frustrating. I've attached a couple of images for reference. I've repaired, re-installed and unistalled and re-installed and still have the same probelm.

Somehow the Properties Palette has gotten less wide- such that I can't read teh actual properties. Previously I was able to make it wider just by hovering over it, clicking on an arrow and dragging it wider. Not now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA user showed me today that she cannot see any properties for a wall, door, or other AEC object in the Properties palette.
Some options like height, width, etc. are shown, but not layer, style, etc. from the General portion of the Basic tab.
Is this going to be a reinstall scenario or is there a fix for this?
I recently upgraded from LT2013 to LT2014. I never had any issues with 2013, but now seem to be battling with 2014. My OS is Windows 7 Home edition.
When selecting an object and then clicking the properties menu, the properties of the selected object are not displayed, but instead the properties of the selected layer are shown.
In the attached screenshot:
1) My active layer is "AM_VIEWS".
2) The layer of the object that is selected is "MEDIUM".
3) The properties dialog box shows the properties of my active layer and not the selected object.
I am therefore unable to override any settings of the selected object and manually change settings e.g. Linetype, Linetype scale etc.
I recently had to reinstall my AutoCAD LT 2008 and now when I open the properties palette to make adjustments to dimensions and fine tune, many peramiters that used to be visible are no longer there and accessible. I used to be able to adjust the dimscale as needed in the properties window, but can't now. How do I get it back?

So I want to know what other Inventor and Vault users are doing to get model properties into Inventor drawings: Using model properties in the title block and nothing to extract in Vault or Copy model properties so Vault has data to extract.
I want to know what the best in class practice is? What are others doing? I do not want to use iLogic I was out of the box Inventor functionality.
For the last couple weeks I've been unable to view object properties or quick properties. If I right click on an object and select quick properties, a blank window comes up:

I finally got some Lisp scripts working. They generate a block library from a CSV file. The script reads the file, and generates a simple rectangular block based on dimensions on the line. I have another script that can read a csv of block names and values, and add these as attributes to the block.
The attributes added are simple, like "weight" and "max stack qty". I would like to be able to see these values in the properties tab or in quick properties. In my CUI I have "Display Custom Attributes" checked under "block reference".
However, when I select a block, no attributes show up. I can get it to show me things like "name" and all of the scaling values, just no attributes.
Software is not compatible with paintbrush, the true soft for altering . txt to .pcx.
The software have MINIMUM the old benefits of the old paintbrush.
So, I have been trying to bend a rounded rectangle shape with a 30px radius using the add anchor and convert tools ... just not having much luck at al and so I am looking for some pointers.

The image was saved as a .jpg so it got anti-aliased and the black outline & background instead of being 2 shades (one for the background, one for the outline) became many shades. Aside from the painstakingly long process of erasing all background pixels and replacing it, yet again with all the same shade, is there another, perferably easier and faster method of doing this.
