So, I have been trying to bend a rounded rectangle shape with a 30px radius using the add anchor and convert tools ... just not having much luck at al and so I am looking for some pointers.

I'm doing a rebrand for a university, and as they've got limited creative resource themselves we've decided to build in using pixelated images into the brand guidelines (so they won't require a professional photographer for every bit of execution).
What I'd like to do is use their logo (a simple house shape) as the shape of the mosaic filter. I've been unable to find a way of altering photoshops default square mosaic filter shape.
I have scanned in a photo of a flower and I am trying to make a pattern out of it. I have a pattern template with wavy lines on another document. How can I make the flower stem into one of the wavy lines? I have been trying all day but haven't succeeded so far ..

The image was saved as a .jpg so it got anti-aliased and the black outline & background instead of being 2 shades (one for the background, one for the outline) became many shades. Aside from the painstakingly long process of erasing all background pixels and replacing it, yet again with all the same shade, is there another, perferably easier and faster method of doing this.

If you wanted to change the colour of the text is there some trick to simultaneously changing the pixels around the letters with slightly different hues (because of the antialiasing) into a relative colour?
i have attached a gif image of a letter zoomed in to give an example.

He has used Buzz, as have I, to change photos into watercolor like images, now defunct and taken over by Topaz software, who now market Simplify in place of BUZZ.
After running the filter, he has added brush strokes to add texture without altering any color—just adding a texture looking like impasto or thick brush strokes.
I have searched everywhere and view lots of video but cannot find a technique to get the result I want.
I am sure there is way to do this, probably with brushes in CS6 and unable to find or create a way to achieve this effect.
Prior to Photoshop CS6, a curve on a path could be moved using the Direct Selection Tool without altering the path beyond the two enclosing points. If you manipulated the curve, only the inside handles of the two points (that create the curve) would change - and only in length - as shown below:
Unfortunately, in Photoshop CS6, if you manipulate the path curve with the Direct Selection Tool, the handles both sides of the points move freely - affecting the path beyond those points:
- is there a way to revert to the prior behaviour? The Photoshop CS6 behaviour may seem more intuitive (or something), but it's less precise and alter parts of the path that are fine already.
I'm using Photoshop CS3, and the warp tool seems to behave differently after performing the skew or perspective transformations. If I try to warp after doing one of these two transformations, I am unable to click on any of the points or handles. The only thing it will let me do is alter the lines, but the points themselves cannot be moved. What am I missing?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm working with a stock image of a girl in a dress, and I've dealt with this problem before; part of the background is visible through translucent parts of the dress, and her hair, which cannot easily be fixed with magic wands and with polygon selects. The background is a neutral grey, while the final product will have a mixed green and brown background. (earth, trees, foliage)
Is there a way to make a layer mask based on the degree of a certain color? For instance, the closer you get to this neutral grey color, the more transparent? The way I've solved this in the past involves extremely careful deletes and extremely careful erase-brushes at 2-10% flow rate.
Software is not compatible with paintbrush, the true soft for altering . txt to .pcx.
The software have MINIMUM the old benefits of the old paintbrush.

after i have installed LR 4.3 yesterday i noticed today that over 34000 of my DNG files (from various folders) where copied over night to the backup drives.90% of these are old files i have not touched in month.
the filesize of the files is not changed... but the date is. i checked the timestamp of the files and they are changed during i used LR 4.3.
i have never touched these DNG files yesterday, i have not changed the keywords etc. or done anything but browsing my catalog yesterday.i have never noticed this after updating LR... this is the first time.none of my TIFF files where changed or copied (i don´t have JPG files) .
I am building a site for a client, and as such they employed the services of a graphic designer to design a company logo. Well the client has chosen one of the logos but the colors do not fit in as well with the sit layout as one would desire. I approached the graphic designer to request changes for the client, but they sent me the files and said I can modify them in Photoshop.
The trouble is, I don't use PS. How to make the appropriate changes using Xara? I did try to highlight the text but I think it may all be part of an object with the razor. I wanted to convert the larger text to white and export everything from a dark background so it doesn't have the white jagged edge you would see from a white background.

I have got a drawing that is set up on A0 as per the client requirements. However, for use on site by our engineers, i want to send over an A2 of just the area they are working in to make it clearer for them. On my original drawing, all the information for the installers is dotted around the page to show site requirements. However, what I am planning on doing now is making 2 x A2 drawings showing the areas of work for this phase, and then 1 x A2 showing all installer requirements.
My issue is though that i don't want to alter the positioning on my drawing in the layout tab as it is to how the client needs it to be and sod's law will be that i will need to do an amendment at some point too.
I have seen a drawing with some boundaries drawn on the layout, which the client has put on a 'defpoints' layer, then on the paper space they have been able to show the different defpoints in different areas on the page, even though they are joining on the layout tab.
I am trying to alter or create a colorspace preset/profile that would allow me to open a digital image in Lightroom or Photoshop that ultamately changes the colorspace to one that simulates the view of a dog. All I really have to go on is the two spctrums shown in the image below.

It was fine until after opening it one day, any changes I make cause inventor to freeze up for several minutes before completing whatever it is that I was trying to accomplish. Most of the changes are with constraints (adding parts and constraining them or changing constraints that were already in place), but I even tried to just rotate a part and Inventor locked up. I'll get the green loading bar at the bottom right corner, and it will run through a couple of times before it stops. The freezing seems to be tied to this assembly only, but I'm trying to find any other way to fix the problem before having to completely restart the assembly. I've worked with bigger assemblies before and have never run into this problem.

All I done was copy a family of RHS from the desktop content center into my custom content library. I then created a small test assembly with frame generator to see if I could use my custom library. It worked fine BUT when I place it into a drawing and create the parts list, the parts list shows all the info in an order that is no use to me. (see attached *SNIP A*)
What I would like is that when I use frame generator along with my custom library, then take it into a drawing, the parts list needs to look like the attached file (see attached *SNIP B*).
So really, I want the "Unit QTY" to vanish, I want the "QTY" to show the Quantity of that part within the assembly, I want the "stock Number" to vanish and I want the description to show the size of the member (what the "stock number" currently shows) along with the length of the member.
Now I know I can edit all this for each part within the parts list BUT I need the parts list to show this info EVERY time AND automatically.
I'm doing a LOT of tracing of raster files on illustrator. After using the image trace function to vectorize a raster file, I further edit the vector. I select the vector file, place the raster file I will trace from on top, and begin to erase sections of the vector that don't line up with the raster file. The problem I'm encountering is that I have to hide the raster layer (the one I'm tracing from) each time I want to add (paint) to the vector. Is there a way I can paint on the vector without hiding (or effecting) the topmost raster layer?

I would like the shape to spin on the Y axis (which requires 3d to be selected) - but when I select the 3D checkbox on the shape layer, the entire composition (text included) rotates 90 on the X axis. So effectively selecting 3D makes the whole composition flat so the starting point is altered.

Is there a way to change the color of a line without losing any of its sharpness/quality? I'm working on a black lineart image originally drawn with a tablet and the ink tool, which gave me really crisp, bold lines. Changing the color using any of the selection and fill tools results in a pretty strong downgrade in quality around the edges, which I would like to avoid. (Seriously, it's looking like I drew it in MSPaint at this point.) ? Or should I have planned out colors from the start?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a path with multiple strokes, which differ in weight and color. I can save that as a profile but it's really tedious if I want to alter the different colors and stroke weights.
I can't seem to do record an action which will automatically alter those parameters (f.ex. raise each strokeweight by 10pt.). All I get is just an action that will recreate the altered state during recording (f.ex. stroke weights 20, 10 >--Action--> 15, 5). I cannot start the action and raise or lower my stroke weights at once based on the current parameters.
Is exposure and contrast supposed to be altering saturation in version 2012? See the 4 screen shots below to see what I'm talking about (RAW NEF taken with a Nikon D4 and the other details are on the screen). Here I am adjusting effects contrast, but I don't think it matters which contrast.
v2012 contrast set one way (this slightly peach tone is accurate and desired):
v2012 contrast raised. There is no mistaking how much yellower it is. Now if I try to fix this with the color controls, something else usually gets thrown off.
This does not happen in v2010: Contrast raised (if anything, slightly opposite):Do not get me wrong --the 2012 controls are far superior at their named function --but they make the mistake of doing more than that function.
The fundamental problem here is that this makes it extremely difficult to edit a photo because changing one setting alters settings you may have already set. When order in which you tweak things becomes a factor, it exponentially increases the complexity (and edit time) because you are then dealing with a moving target. You keep having to go back and reset settings that should not be drifting, and did not drift in prior releases. This is a problem for me especially with photos containing a wide range between light and dark, especially where contrast is desired in both light and dark (as above). This is not the first contrast control problem I've posted (it appears to interfere with lens correction). Contrast seems to be at the center of all my release difficulty (that combined with lack of a linear brightness control). Contrast appears to be adjusting more than just contrast in v2012.
In Photoshop CS6, when you have a shape layer with a layer mask, and the two are not linked together, and the layer mask is selected, you should be able to scale the layer mask independently of the shape. What actually happens is the shape gets scaled and the layer mask stays untouched. In fact, even if you option-click on the layer mask to show the mask by itself, and then try to scale it, you still end up scaling the shape instead of the mask. Even if you go as far as to make a pixel selection of the layer mask and attempt to scale the pixels, the shape still gets scaled and the layer mask still stays put! Unbelievable!
This works correctly in CS4, but not in CS6 (don't know about CS5).
I want to make a vector shape from a path. Is there a way to bypass having to define a new custom shape? I just want to quickly add the vector shape to a new layer, but I don't need it defined as it'll just be used once.
