Is it possible in VBA to change the linewidth and type (dashed ...) of a SketchLine3D? I am looking for the parameters in the 'format' menu (Sketch3D!) of IV2013. I found a color override but not the other parameters.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using ACAD 12 and am trying to obtain a TIFF image of my drawing, but the linewidths do not seem to be registering. I know this because if I change the output device to PDF or to our printer, they show up (and show up in the preview), but when TIFF is selected, all linewidths seem to revert to 0.0000. Any thoughts? I am plotting in B/W exclusively.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI read that it's not possible to import a style (styxml file) into the style editor through the API, there is no dedicated command.
However I'm wondering if there's a a way to have the internal name corresponding to the button as we can do for the ribbon buttons (there's a sample code which does this).
So is it possible ot get the internal name of a button inside a dialog box (style editor here) or is it really hopeless to think I can import a style with a macro ?
By the way, that would be for Inventor 2009.
I am working with a template, that doesn't allow me to change the dimension style. In the project the Use Style Library is set to Read/Write. I have created my dimension style, at this point just a copy of the ANSI standard with a text size difference. I went to my template and set that syle as my default, and saved it. Now the fact that it doesn't automatically update the drawing I had alreadycreated is a nuisance, however if I creat a new drawing, the style has reverted to a different standard, that is not even the ANSI default. If I right click a dimension and change the dimstyle to what I saved it does update, but if I try to change the style again it defaults to a random dimstyle, AND changes the style even if I hit cancel. So... the question is how to make the changes stick?

The example would be that I have stuff made from way back that the colors/dimension sytles ect dont match the current standard and upon opening a file where they are not current, it would either prompt to update immediatly OR update automatically with no prompting (preferred method).
I am doing a massive amount of updates from old files recently and to save myself 1 - 3 clicks per drawing would be wonderful.
I am looking for a way to change the text style used by a table style with Visual LISP. So far I have been able to get the IAcadTableStyle object from the acad_tablestyle dictionary, but there is no property for text style. Is this even possible? Code and results are below.

There is a font and table style called "Legend" that is automatically generating and can not be purged.
I have looked through all the start up files, all the lisp files and can't find anything that would be creating them!
They appear in any file I open, new or old and even if I open a template file.
I have attached a file that should be empty but you will (or should) see both a font and table style called "Legend".
(FYI I am running AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 as AutoCAD 2010)
Is there any way to lock a text style so that the associated font style can not be changed?

If I manually change it to a child style and then check the values, they are the same as what I'm trying to set them to. If you use a "parent" style then these both work. Am I doing something wrong or this another limitation?

We have just installed 2014 software on our machines and I'm told that I need to migrate the styles library from 2013 to 2014. Here's the thing though, we have our Inventor templates and design data on a network drive for all to access.
I see where there is a style manager included in the Tools of Inventor but I open it up and I can't make heads or tails of it.

I'll use Publisher to get the photo finish, but I still have to get the color to look like the real world paint. I've contacted my paint co to see if they could give me RGB values that I could input into the custom color style editor--see attached dialog box. Each time I open my drawings, I have the View styles come back to ‘’Shaded’’ instead of ‘’Shaded with edges’’. How do I force it to stay on ‘’Shaded with edges’’ ?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI added sever materials to the Style Library and after I was done I noticed that one of the Style names had a typo in it. When I tried to "RENAME" the style it made a new style with the correct name but kept the old style with the incorrect name. I cannot get rid of the incorrect material style. There is no delete available on the "right click" menu and purging doesn't actually seem to do anything when I try to purge it.
I want to delete it from the Style Library so it no longer appears in the material list that is available. How do I do this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have ipt file that I am trying to derive into another part file. The "derive style" is set to surface only. solid icons (top most row icons) are all disabled/greyed out. But actually the part i am trying to derive oesnt have any surfaces.
Why does inventor force the derive to be surface only?
If i continue to dereive, I am seeing that the "move bodies" icon is also greyed out.

I want to print grayscale but our logo in colour. I have set up all of the style colours to drop into AutoCAD and match our current AutoCAD drawing standards as far as I can see, I have a couple of options
1. Save as Autocad and print from there
2. Remove our sketched logo and embed a raster, (not keen on), then select the "all colours as black" option when printing, (still doesnt give me greyscale)
3. copy the sheet and manually change each dimension, note, view etc to a different standard, copy back to sheet 1 and use a rule to turn different layers on and off, (sounds like hard work)
How others handle the lack of printing options. Again, I am dismayed by the lack of coherency between Inventor and AutoCAD, the sales pitch is such BS.
In older versions of IV I thought that fractional dimensions were automatically changed to decimals in the sketch mode (part modeling) and you could change it to fractional if so desired. In IV2012 they stay fractional, is there a way that I can't find, to make them convert to decimal at the global level or better always show as decimal as standard. I know I can change them at the individual level.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI made some changes to layers and line scales in our idw template and then saved them to the style library to keep things synchronized. When I started a new drawing I got a style conflict message as if I had not saved the changes to the style library (see attached). My project file is set to Use Style Library =Yes, and what's more strange is that only six of the layers didn't update in the style library while the rest did? These six layers indeed show they need to be updated in the style library when I went back into the template, but when I update them the same thing happens.

Is it possible to change Active Object Defaults Style by VBA code (see picture below)?
I am trying to change Object Defaults in order to temporarily switch style which use layers with different line weights, and than switch it back. I am new to VBA so I am not sure if I am not trying to do something what is impossible.
I make an idw template at home and at work i get this message that says style library will override the listed styles, and enables me to choose if i want to impose the style library or the styles in the template.
I want to impose the styles in the template and the message says that in order to achieve that i have to delete the styles.
Which styles to delete and how?
When i use the purge styles command it's empty.
I understand that duplicate names of styles make the problem, but at home i checked 2 of the styles and found them the same as at work, but maybe i don't remember all the changes.
Is the solution simply to make new styles with new names?
how to activate the text style in inventor 2013. I can change the text style on a new text in my drawing, but when I want to change a text style on an existing text, the syle is inactive.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently completed a new parts list style - which I thought would be nice to use in some other idw's. So I exported it and saved it as "XXX BBB". Its original name was "XXX AAA".
When I go into another idw and import it I get it coming in as "XXX AAA" - even though I'm importing "XXX BBB".

I am creating two sizes of flexible hose in an assembly. One is 2" and the other is 1 1/4". In my hurry, I did not change the style for the smaller hose. Now both hoses are 2". I have tried to change the style but it does not update. I created the 1 1/4" style by copying the 2" style and change the diamter. Office Laptop specs:

I am trying to edit my drawing template dimension style to always do a diameter (if it is a circle). Right now it defaults to radius and I manually right click and change it. I found all sorts of styles for how it displays the radius and diameter, but didn't find where to set the default.
