I use this macro to toggle my browser from Model to Vault, and have since IV2009, and I have always used a shortcut key combination to access it. Now that I have installed 2012, the keyboard shortcut doesn't stick. Every time I close Inventor and re-open it, I have to reassign the key combination to this macro. This equals annoying! Maybe I didn't properly implement the macro in VB?

In Inventor 2011 we used the large and small together and the icon's were shown properly.
Now we have moved to Inventor 2013 and the large icon's arnen't shown properly. They display as an large orange @ signin a square box.
The Icon's meet al the requirement, .bpm, 16x16 & 32x32 pix, 24 bit, naming (Modulename.Macronam.Small/Large.bmp)
the shortcut I use for dust and scratches filter, command, option, shift, control, D, just wont stick. other shortcut I use for other filters stay, but this one keep going away.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCivil 3D 2011, updates installed - I have a user who is manually importing points into his drawing. He has set the default label style in his command settings to a specific style, but no matter what he does the points come in with the previously set default style (the out-of-the-box label style). We've tested this in a new drawing with the same results. We've tested this on several computers with the same results.
My initial thought was that something on the network was holding this setting somehow. We disconnected his computer from the network with the same results.
What could be causing this label style to stick?
This is happening on all my Autodesk software (AutoCAD, Map 3D, and Civil 3D)(2012 and 2013). . .
I initiate a command (say LINE), I pick my first point to draw the line and nothing happens. I must click it again to get it ot work. It only happens when I'm working fast. For instance:
L (for line)right-click (for ENTER)immdediately try to click the first point of the linenothing happens and I must re-pick the firtst point again
or
E (for erase)right-click (for ENTER)immediately try to pick a corner for your boxnothing happens and I must re-create my selection box However, if I go slow it works fine. For instance, after initating the command simply wait about 2 or 3 seconds and then try to click. It all works fine there, but waiting becomes annoying now.
The mouse clicks work fine in all my other software (Excel, MS Word, etc.). I am having another (maybe totally unrealated issue) with my keyboard. While typing, my cursor will magically move somewhere else on the screen. I'm using a laptop and have made sure I'm not touching the touch pad. This may be a completely unrelated issue to the mouse clicks, but I thought I'd inform you just in case the two go hand in had. by the way. . .dynamic mode is disabled, PICKFIRST is set correctly, and I've messed with the 3D Config options.
I just tried to rotate an image, pressing "R" for the rotate tool, getting the compass rose over the image, and then rotated the image by dragging 90 degrees. So far so good. Then, I wanted to crop the image into a panorama proportion, by pressing "C" for crop tool - and voilá, the image jumps back into the original rotation, just like that. I have tried to press the Enter key after rotating, I have tried to save, I have tried to change to other tools in between, I have looked into the toolbar for clues but found none - I just can't understand what it is that I'm supposed to do to make the rotation stick.
I'll just add that I managed to solve this temporarily by selecting rotate 90 degrees from the menu and then cropping - why I can't do this visually by using the "R" command and dragging visually, then changing to the crop tool. It's just fortunate that there's often several ways to accomplish the same things in PS. So, I managed to work around it - but I'm still wondering why I couldn't make the rotation stick by using the method above. If I'd like to make a more arbitrary rotation then that seems like the way to do it - if it would stick.
I normally crop to ratio 4:3 (8x6) for printing,but just very recently the crop does not stick to it's ratio when reaching the outer borders.(especially if changing orientation from Landscape to portrait).If pulled It just keeps expanding to almost a square ratio before it stops.Obviously the padlock is locked and it is something that never used to happen.
View 37 Replies View RelatedTricky one to add a title for but if I am resizing an object precisely using the W Value and H Value fields, for some reason the size I enter then changes. So, for example, I have an object that is 57.15mm wide. I then change that value to 57mm but when I click return it then changes back to the 57.15mm value. This appears for all other values. So if I change it to 60mm it then changes it to 59.972 mm
Not really sure what setting I have that's making it do this. My document is set up in mm.
I have been using the addin "Save Run Macro" to automatically run a macro every time the "Save" button is pressed.

1] When I protect the macro from viewing (so I can protect my code) "Save Run Macro" does not see the macro.
2] When I save the part for the first time (ipt, iam or idw/dwg) the macro does not run. I always need to run the macro again.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a model in which we want to make lighter than the prototype turned out to be. In order to acomplish this i am removing a chunk of the metal in the lid(images attatched. I have completed the sketch seen in red and extruded it to prove that the loop is complete but when I try to reverse the extrusioni to cut from the lid dragging down the arrow as an example, it turns the effected area a darker red than normaly seen when you cut something. When I let go of the left mouse button it pops back up to the original surface having no effect and refuses to go benieth it and when I apply I get the error seen at the bottom of the attatched image. I do this sort of cutting often instead of digging down to the root sketch then dealing with the ripple effect of the changes we want to make.

Everything comes in as a box type which is not ideal for selecting geomety once imported into cam software for machining/engraving. The model text will be extruded/embossed, but it it possible to get single line text in a dwg or idw that will import into cam software. It would be nice to be able to import the text from a inventor dwg,idw to a different level in mastercam to save time from having to redraw all the text in the cam software.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been upgrading to X6 from X5. I wanted to install a CorelDRAW macro called "Function Plotter", written by Alex Vakulenko, into X6. When upgrading from X4 to X5 I just manually placed a certain file (Plotter14.gms) into the Draw GMS folder in the program directory. Then back in CorelDRAW X5 I choose Tools > Options > Customization > Commands in order to place an icon in the toolbar, making access to the macro. It worked back then. However when I try the same procedure in X6 it doesn't work. I can see the file under "Commands" and place an icon, but nothing happens when I press the button. Maybe it has something to do with 64 bit, which from what I can see in this Forum causes a lot of trouble (scanner drivers, plugins, etc)?
This macro is extremely important for me. I have tried contacting Alex, but with no success so far. In the meanwhile I need to install X5 again..
It is supposed to get removed automatically, but nothing at all happens. CA removal works fine with all the other photos, just not those one taken with that lens.

As a pro, I crop all my photos.I normally use the forward arrow to move through each image, but with the crop tool the forward arrow doesn't work for advancing to the next frame.It only adjusts the crop.This is extremely frustrating for me as it slows down my workflow.
Is there a one key shortcut, within the Crop Tool -- that permits us to move forward from frame to frame?I wish the forward key worked for this within the crop tool!

I have a keyboard shortcut for Copy (see directly below). This command doesn't copy multiple. But if I type "Copy" at the comment prompt (AutoCAD 2013) the copy multiple is the default. Copymode is already set to "0".

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I am done with a drawing (inventor .dwg), I manually go to "Save Copy As" and select DXF, and using my default options, save the drawing as a DXF on a server (OUTSIDE of vault) that our shop guys can access for CNC stuff. I understand there is a DXF Translator that I may be able to set to do this for me. How to use Inventor add-ins (my translator is loaded, thats as far as I got) or set them as macros. A button on the ribbon to export to DXF would be nice and I may also want to automate this further and have it do it on file save.

We just updated to 2013 this morning, and my macro isn't in the drop down (All Application Projects and Active Documents) menu like they were in 2012.
I haven't been able to find it when searching either. I created a test macro, and it showed up: C:Userscad1AppDataLocalTempUserProject1.ivb
But still is not in the dropdown in the macro menu. I'm using the same project that I had in 2012.Did installing 2013 remove/write over my maco? I imported my preferences this morning, they seem to be fine.

I have obtained a very useful macro from another discussion thread, [URL]....... It automatically names the frame members inserted by Frame Generator. I have modified the macro for our internal naming conventions, but the basic functionality is the same. I would like it to load automatically whenever I am in Inventor and believe an Add-In is the way to go. I have followed Brian Ekins "Taking the Step from VBA to Inventor Add-Ins" paper, but I think I am missing huge chunks on how Add-ins handle events and have been unsuccessful in finding any help topics. View 7 Replies View RelatedI added two macros to be run from a button in the ribbon. The first time I run one of these macros after startup of Inventor, it takes a lot of time to run (approx. 5 sec.). But the second and subsequent time the tools are ran, the process is pretty much instantaneous. It's like the VBAeditor has to load on the background before the tool can process.
I arrived a this hypothesis because the VBA editor is taking around 5-10 seconds to load for the first time but after the tool (macro) has ran once, the VBA editor can be opened instantaneously.
