AutoCAD Inventor :: Mould Insert Combine

Sep 21, 2013

I'm creating a small simple mould tool where my customer wants to machine the core and cavity directly into the die set itself (no physical inserts). I've created the core and cavity and placed a die set around them. I know that you can combine inserts, but can you conbine the inserts to the die set?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Removing One Part From Another To Make A Mould

Jan 6, 2012

i've attached my model - basically I want to remove the fish shaped component from a solid block so it can be mirrored and CNC milled from an aluminium block to make a prototype fishing lure (Ignore the undercut on the tail).

I've looked at the online videos but the steps taken don't work on my model. I made the lure as a whole and split it in 2 - is this the problem?

I’m suing the Mould Design feature of Inventor Professional and need to have four cavities for this mould. When I try to use the pattern function nothing happens. I look at the Wiki help and it says that I have to enter values for X direction X distance etc, but this dialogue box does not appear.

How can I get the box to appear?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Combine Feature With Solid Bodies

Feb 20, 2013

I have a model with solid bodies. I have used the combine feature to make cuts outs in some plates. The geometry is complex to model so Extrude cannot be used for cuts.

The body used for the combine  can be at different angles and sizes. Due to this some of the combine features will not be needed or have no effect. This leads to the error message:

" The feature as specified did not change the number of faces (and may not have affected the part).  Accept the feature that resulted, or use Edit Sketch or Edit Feature to change the feature definition." Is there anyway to suppress this feature automatically using i Logic?

Xara :: Mould Perspective Effect Missing From Some Images Post-export To PDF

Mar 15, 2012

I'm tearing my hair out after creating an iPod jukebox style ad (i.e. album cover carousel) where the pix made with the LEFT perspective using Mold tool work fine, but the two made with RIGHT perspective using Mold tool come out skewed rather than moulded after exporting to PDF.

All images are jpegs; I've checked and am doing exact same process on either side. Tried killing the images in bitmap gallery and re-importing - makes no difference.

I write a program, this program needs to insert some standard illustrations. I made these standard illustrations into different blocks. And I store these blocks in a dwg file. Everytime I need to insert some illustrations, I just click the mouse on the current drawing, I want the illustration inserted. These means the following points:

(1) Import the blocks to the current drawing, if the blocks have already been imported, then do nothing.

(2) Specify the insert point by clicking the mouse, and I want the block's insert point to coincide with the mouse clicking point.

AutoCAD Inventor :: API And Insert Frame

Aug 29, 2011

I am currently looking into the API for Inventor 2012 in order to try and automate a few processes that we do within our comapany.

What I am trying to do is access the functionality that the "Insert Frame" or Frame Generator function brings to Inventor by using the API. The basic functionality that I am looking for is to be able to draw a steel beam from Inventors library by using the API,  similar to the way the "Insert Frame" command handles it. Is this possible? I have looked into the API documentation but cannot find anything.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Insert JPEG Onto Drawing?

Mar 30, 2011

I'm trying to place some pictures (.jpeg, bitmap, whatever) onto an inventor drawing but it won't let me.   I see when you create a sketch in a drawing there is an "image" option in the insert tab, however this option is always grayed out for me no matter what I try.

The way I insert pictures on a drawing now is just to create a part, put the image as a decal on that part and create a view in a drawing with a shaded view. However with this option the lighting shows up and kills the image quality and it seems too complicated to be the correct way.
